Only three episodes left in this year’s epic season of Game of Thrones. We actually got a bit of happy news last week amongst all the scheming and grisly goings-on, so I’m expecting heaps of bad news this week. Best of luck to Arya, Tyrion, and the Khaleesi, my personal favorites.

Behold the First Trailer for Europa Report

17 May 2013 1:30 PM, PDT

This first trailer for Europa Report is full of very suspenseful choppy half shots that are very good at keeping the biggest movie secrets hidden. In fact, I got more from the official synopsis than I did from the trailer in the way of plot. Regardless, it looks awesome. Check it out.

Trailer: Europa Report

Synopsis

Europa Report follows a contemporary mission to Jupiter’s moon Europa to investigate the possible existence of alien life within our solar system. When unmanned probes suggest that a hidden ocean could exist underneath Europa’s icy surface and may contain single-celled life, Europa Ventures, a privately funded space exploration company, sends six of the best astronauts from around the world to confirm the data and explore the revolutionary discoveries that may lie in the Europan ocean. After a near-catastrophic technical failure that leads to loss of communication with Earth and the tragic death of a crewmember, »

Another Leading Man Contender for The Raven

17 May 2013 1:00 PM, PDT

We’ve been keeping you updated on the sci-fi conspiracy thriller set in futuristic Los Angeles that stemmed from a short film by Ricardo de Montreuil who is now set to direct the Universal Pictures project.

We had reported back in April that Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) had replaced Mark Walhberg (Ted) as the lead. According to Deadline Gerard Butler (Gamer) is now in “deep talks” to play the lead. I enjoy everything he does, so I consider this move an upgrade for sure.

We will keep you posted the latest for Ricardo de Montreuil’s The Raven. »

Meet Vlad the Impaler in Clips From Tonight’s So Creepy Da Vinci’S Demons

17 May 2013 11:00 AM, PDT

Yes, that Vlad the Impaler. Those clever writers on Da Vinci’s Demons are doing a great job of keeping us unsure if certain things are really supernatural or … something else. In the case of tonight’s quite creepy guest star, things are really on the fence. Or maybe on a pole.

New Vlog from the Set of Godzilla

17 May 2013 9:00 AM, PDT

It’s been 2 months since we’ve seen a vlog from the Legendary set of the film Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards. This vlog is pretty short and sweet, just marking the one year count down to the release of the epic movie.

It’s hard because we’ve been spoiled by the behind the scenes tweets for movies like The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Gareth Edwards doesn’t want to show us much at all for fear of spoiling the movie. I get that, but I’m a little sad faced anyway.

It is worth rewatching to get a look at the two guys in the back ground that look pretty roughed up.

What?! Warehouse 13 Gets Renewed – For a Six Episode Final Season [Updated]

17 May 2013 5:00 AM, PDT

This Is Just Crazy. There must be more to the story, but we wanted to let you know as soon as possible. I’ve been on conference calls with all of the main cast members plus the showrunner in recent weeks and none of them indicated an interest in finishing off the show. Maybe it was getting too expensive. Maybe showrunner Jack Kenny or more than one of the actors in the primary roles wants to work on other projects that would keep them away too long.

Regardless of the reason, Deadline broke the news late last night that the next season of Warehouse 13 would be its last, stating that the show would be shooting a final 6 episodes in Toronto this summer. “Warehouse 13 has been an incredible signature series for us,” said Syfy President of Original Content Mark Stern. “We are grateful to the loyal and passionate fan »

The CW Releases Clips for The Tomorrow People, The Originals, The 100, and Star-crossed

16 May 2013 3:00 PM, PDT

The CW has long been one of the best supporters of Our Kind of Shows, and at this year’s Upfronts they put even more money where our hearts are. Of the six new shows announced for the fall and winter schedule, four are for us: The Originals, The Tomorrow People, The 100, and Star-Crossed. Now of course more than one has that trademark The CW soap opera-ish spin on it, but hey, not Every show is for every one of us.

Here to assist in our prejudging are synopses for all, via Deadline, and maybe even better, clips and/or TV spots. There’s not really anything new for The Originals, but fans will want to see it all again anyway. The Tomorrow People features the wonderful Mark Pellegrino so it’s my favorite of the four.

Another Set Pic From Another Pivotal Scene in Divergent

16 May 2013 11:00 AM, PDT

This is a great picture from the Divergent set, of the pivotal scene where Tris (Shailene Woodley) is perched to jump off of a building. I think you get that from this picture for sure, and it is a really good start for how I pictured it from the book. My favorite part of the picture is actually the first look at the Abnegation faction’s clothing. It’s actually a little bit more complicated than I had imagined. I had pictured it even more plain.

Pretty awesome though.

Divergent, starring Kate Winslet, Shailene Woodley, Ashley Judd, Ray Stevenson, Ansel Elgort, Theo James, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Ben Lamb, Christian Madsen and Tony Goldwyn is slated to hit theaters on March 21, 2014. »

Featurette Highlights the Very Excellent Music of the Very Excellent Star Trek Into Darkness

16 May 2013 9:00 AM, PDT

I have seen it, and I hereby pronounce it “awesome”. I was really really looking forward to Star Trek Into Darkness, especially since Star Trek is one of my top ten movies, and it did not disappoint. Go see it Absolutely as soon as possible, for three reasons: one, it is really fun to see it with a crowd full of fans, which is who will primarily be attending during the first few days; two, you may get inadvertently spoiled at Any Minute now that it’s out; and three, like I said, it’s awesome.

One of the most important components of the movie is the soundtrack, and wow does that Michael Giacchino score come shining through, just as it did in the first Star Trek movie. Here’s a featurette on the music; you’ll hear a few themes that harken back to that first movie, along with »

Check Out the First Trailer for Riddick

16 May 2013 7:00 AM, PDT

My day was a little low on octane. I’m so glad that the first trailer for Riddick could remedy that. The Universal Pictures epic was written and directed by David Twohy and stars Vin Diesel in his reprisal of the title role from 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick.

Trailer: Riddick

Ah-mazing.

Grab a Tissue and Some Popcorn for Tonight’s Season Finale of The Vampire Diaries

16 May 2013 5:00 AM, PDT

Well, I’m not positive we’ll need the tissues, but since the title of tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries is “Graduation”, it’s a possibility. And wow, wouldn’t it be great if they finally gave up on the idea of being high school students? Because that has been the most unbelievable plot point in this whole series. I’ll believe in dopplegangers Way before I’ll believe those kids attend class.

Anyway, tonight is the promised-to-be epic season finale, so grab the popcorn and settle in with the rehash, TV spot, and clips before the show starts:

Dark and Creepy Teaser TV Spots Abound for Teen Wolf

These new teaser TV spots for Teen Wolf take me right back to last August, or even a year earlier, when American Horror Story first started posting these things, then did so again for its second season. Little clips that aren’t actually from the show but are about the show. It helps if they are bizarre and/or creepy. Well done, Teen Wolf, these are a great homage.

Check Out the First Trailer for About Time

15 May 2013 1:00 PM, PDT

When I had first heard about Rachel McAdams and her time traveling beau in About Time I thought it sounded dangerously close to another movie she starred in, The Time Traveler’s Wife. Rest assured that this is more of a comedy like Groundhog Day except that rather than being trapped in a time loop, the time traveler in question (Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Weasley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 and 2) is on a quest to get all the best moments, just right.
