American Horror Story Season 2 Casting Indicates Some Things Will Remain the Same

13 April 2012 4:00 PM, PDT

As we first reported to you last December, Season 2 of American Horror Story will feature an entirely new story in a new setting, with some familiar faces. We learned back in March that those familiar faces will include the amazing Jessica Lange.

Last year one of her character’s nemeses was a twenty-something sexpot. We now know that her primary Season 2 nemesis was at least meant to be … a 20-something sexpot. TVLine broke the news that French actor Lizzie Brocheré has been cast as series regular Gia. The role was originally said to be set for a fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot, but word is that the role has changed quite a bit since the search began. Since Ms. Brocheré is known for her “very” Nc-17 roles, it’s unclear what would be changed.

She will join new castmember Adam Levine and returning series regulars Zachary Quinto, »

First Look at the House and Costumes for Munsters Reboot Mockingbird Lane

13 April 2012 3:00 PM, PDT

When we first learned that Eddie Izzard would be playing Grandpa in NBC‘s pilot Mockingbird Lane, we were encouraged. The word on this Munsters reboot is that it will not be the fun but silly half hour show that was the original, but rather it’s to be an hour-long drama, written by eye-candy-ful Pushing DaisiesBryan Fuller.

So when we understood that Eddie Izzard‘s Grandpa was meant to be suave and debonair, we started to imagine how very cool that could be. Well imagine no more, as we can now see the concept art for Izzard’s Grandpa’s attire as well as an idea of what the yet-to-be-cast Lily may be wearing.

But wait, there’s more! Concept art for the Munsters’ house, located on, obviously, Mockingbird Lane, has also been unveiled, and in this case, it does look like the original. As Bryan Fuller told EW, »

Superman fan and talented animator, Mike Roberts, has answered a very important question that I didn’t know has plagued me for years. He may be faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive, but Superman still gags like a little girl when he’s gotta clean up after his pets.

Some Fresh Step would solve your problems, big guy.

Sony Is Turning Sabrina The Teenage Witch Into a Superhero

13 April 2012 6:00 AM, PDT

Hold onto your broomsticks. Sony Pictures is turning Sabrina the Teenage Witch into a superhero in their new live-action film. The character was introduced in the 1960s Archie Comics and most recently was brought to life by Melissa Joan Hart in the television series that started in 1996 and ran for seven years. Sony is banking on the successful trend of recent superhero movies to bring this character back into the limelight.

According to Deadline, Sony’s film will approach Sabrina the Teenage Witch like a Spider-Man-esque superhero origin story “about a young girl coming to terms with her remarkable powers.” This version of Sabrina will “be edgier” and has changed Salem, her black cat who can talk, into a “transformed prince creating unique love stories for Sabrina.” The project is on the fast track to production and the studio is excited to discover an actress for the title role.

Game of Thrones Star to Voice Lead Character in Zenoscope’s Animated Grimm Fairy Tales

12 April 2012 3:00 PM, PDT

Lena Headey, who currently plays Game of Thrones‘ Cersei Lannister, mother to the very horrible young king Joffrey Baratheon, will be lending her dulcet tones to the character of Sela in Zenoscope Entertainment‘s online animated series based on its popular comic Grimm Fairy Tales. (Please note, if you aren’t familiar with the comic series, that these are nothing like charming childrens’ stories; it’s more adult fare, as evidenced by the Snow White cover below.)

This series isn’t taking the usual path, however. It’s going for funding By The People, meaning through Kickstarter. Here are some of the details, from the site:

We, at Zenescope Entertainment, find it hard to believe that Grimm Fairy Tales is approaching its 75th issue. When we started publishing the comic book back in 2005, we just hoped it would make it to issue six so we could collect it into a graphic novel. »
