"Force Awakens" Clip Teases New Trailer?

The official Instagram account for "Star Wars" has posted a 15-second tease of footage from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" including shots not previously seen in the two earlier trailers.

There's nothing attached to the clip in terms of discussing why it is being shown, but it seems to suggest that the next trailer for the film could be dropping very soon? The video certainly demonstrates Instagram's newly introduced landscape and portrait orientation options for photos and videos.

Also today the official Twitter account for "Star Wars" has shown off the first concept art from the 'Battle of Jakku' Dlc in the upcoming "Star Wars: Battlefront" game. The scene ties into 'The Force Awakens' with the desert planet Jakku being the one seen in the movie and the trailers so far. »

"Galaxy Quest" May Become An Amazon Series

Beloved 1999 sci-fi comedy film "Galaxy Quest" is being developed into a TV series for Amazon Studios reports EW.

The film's co-writer Robert Gordon will pen the pilot and the film's director Dean Parisot will direct with both set to executive produce alongside the original film's producers.

Amazon will film the pilot first and then decide if they want to proceed with further episodes. No word on who would star as the Nsea Protector crew members in this new take on the property.

Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell and Alan Rickman starred in the original film which followed the cast of a "Star Trek"-style TV series who were now washed up has beens. An alien race, who saw the show and mistook it for being a documentary, captures them and enlists their help in fighting a race of alien warriors. »

Photo: Fassbender In "Assassin's Creed"

The first photo has been released of Michael Fassbender in the role of 'Callum Lynch' in the upcoming film adaptation of the "Assassin's Creed" video game series opening December 21st 2016.

Fassbender's character was created specifically for the film version and is a man who discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society thanks to unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.

After gaining incredible knowledge and skills, he's poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day. Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed also star in the film which begins shooting in Malta, London, and Spain on Monday under the helm of his "Macbeth" director Justin Kurzel.

"Civil War" Promo Art Showcases Teams?

The upcoming Marvel Studios film "Captain America: Civil War" sees the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe divided and taking on each other due to differing beliefs over how things should be done.

The other week came rumors of which heroes would side with Iron Man and which would side with Captain America in this fight, and now Mr. Sunday Movies (via Cbm) have released what they claim is concept art from the film showcasing the teams in question.

Tony Stark gets War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther and Vision while Steve Rogers gets The Winter Soldier, Falcon, Hawkeye, Ant-Man and Sharon Carter. The sketches do Not include Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch or Hulk who are all rumoured to be involved in the project which recently wrapped filming and opens early next year.

"Thor: Ragnarok" Could Shoot In Australia?

With the value of the Australian dollar plummeting thanks to China's economic uncertainty of late, the country's film industry is getting excited as several international blockbusters are looking to head Down Under to shoot in coming months.

With "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" wrapping production on the Gold Coast this month, Disney is reportedly so happy with their experience shooting the movie there that they intend to bring one of their Marvel Studios films to the same facility next year. A source tells Yahoo:

New "Metal Gear Solid V" Gets Rave Reviews

Going into the year, it appeared as if the fight for the 'Game of the Year' title would come down to a duel between "Batman: Arkham Knight" and "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt". At this point it seems both those games may be pushed to fight for third place as the highly anticipated and more recent front runner "Fallout 4" looks to have scored a serious challenger.

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" hits stores on Tuesday and reviews have now been unleashed by dozens of outlets. The results are nothing short of astonishing with the game getting the highest Metacritic score of the year so far for a new game with 95/100.

"Prometheus," "Guardians" Sequel Updates

Following numerous rumors, Ridley Scott has now officially confirmed that the sequel to "Prometheus" will be his immediate next film.

Speaking with Empire to promote this Fall's release of his Matt Damon-led astronaut drama "The Martian," both Damon and Scott confirmed that the latter is already well underway on getting the film ready to shoot.

Damon says: "Ridley was done with the movie [The Martian] about two weeks after we shot!" to which Scott followed up with: "I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is 'Prometheus 2.'"

At last report the follow-up to the "Alien" franchise prequel will kick off filming in January and will be out in cinemas (likely Summer 2017) before Neill Blomkamp's fifth "Alien" movie - a film which Scott will executive produce.

First "Force Awakens" Box-Office Estimates

The first very early box-office estimates are out for this December's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" release with prognosticators suggesting the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel could be headed for a record-setting $615 million worldwide opening weekend according to Deadline.

That would top the current $524 million global opening of this past summer's "Jurassic World" which became the fastest film to cross the $1 billion mark after just 13 days. Domestically the opening is rumored to be heading towards anywhere as high as $300 million in the U.S.

'Force Awakens' is expected to play in over 4,000 theaters on at least 10,000 U.S. screens stateside and in every overseas territory aside from China which will be in the midst of one of its Hollywood blackout periods in December.

"Daredevil" Featurette Showcases The VFX

One of the most acclaimed elements of Netflix and Marvel's first season of "Daredevil" was the superb stunt work, visuals and fight choreography. Lionsgate Plans Young Caesar Movie

White Horse Pictures and Lionsgate are teaming to produce "Emperor," the first film in a proposed trilogy adaptation of Conn Iggulden's series of novels about a young Julius Caesar and his best friend Brutus.

William Broyles Jr., Stephen Harrigan, Burr Steers and Ian Mackenzie Jeffers are penning the script which will be based on the first two books in the series. Nigel Sinclair, Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton and Matt Jackson will produce the project which is currently seeking a director. Nunnari says in an official statement:

First Clip From ITV's "Jekyll & Hyde" Sequel

ITV has released the first clip from its upcoming ten-part "Jekyll & Hyde" event series which isn't so much a new adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson short story so much as a superhero-themed reimagined sequel to it.

Tom Bateman, Richard E. Grant and Natalie Gumede star in this new take in which we follow the grandson of the original Dr. Jekyll who is a young, sensitive and meek man. His 'Hyde' however is a confident, risk-taking superhero with super powers who gets things done. The series premieres sometime this Fall.

Final "Hobbit" Extended Edition Trailer

The extended edition versions of all the films in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy are set to hit cinemas for one night only screenings on October 5th, 7th and 13th respectively.

Today, Fathom Events and Warner Bros. Pictures have released a trailer for the event which you can watch below and which includes new footage from 'The Battle of the Five Armies' not yet seen.

The Blu-Ray and DVD version of the extended edition of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" hits shelves on November 17th.

"Gears of War" Designer Teases "Lawbreakers"

Boss Key Productions have announced the title and released the first trailer for "LawBreakers," their upcoming competitive team-based Fps video game set on a future Earth divided into two factions following an event known as 'The Shattering' which changed gravity forever.

Out of this disaster, a new age technological advancements emerged in the field of gravity manipulation that allows for near-superhuman abilities. As a result, the world is now divided into two factions who are at war for control.

Veteran video game developers Cliff Bleszinski ("Gears of War") and Arjan Brussee ("Killzone") are behind the project which will hit sometime next year.

Timothy Olyphant Joins "Mother's Day"

Timothy Olyphant, Shay Mitchell, Britt Robertson, Jack Whitehall, Aasif Mandvi and Loni Love have all joined the cast of Garry Marshall's ensemble romantic comedy "Mother's Day" at Open Road Films.

Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis are already onboard the film which marks Marshall's third holiday-themed film of this type after "Valentine's Day" and "New Year's Eve".

Olyphant plays Aniston's ex-husband and Mitchell as his new wife, Robertson as a slightly neurotic new mother and Whitehall as her aspiring standup comedian boyfriend, Mandvi as the successful doctor husband of Hudson's character, and Love as a friend of Sudeikis' character.

Anya Kochoff-Romano, Lily Hollander, Matt Walker and Tom Hines penned the script and filming began in Atlanta this week ahead of an April 2016 release. Wayne Rice, Mike Karz, Daniel Diamond and Brandt Andersen are producing.

"Homeland" Creator Plans "Brothers," "Mind"

"Homeland" and "Tyrant" co-creator Gideon Raff has sold the pitch "Operation Brothers" to Fox Searchlight which Raff will write, produce and direct based on the 1981 rescue of Ethiopian Jews to Israel.

Alexandra Milchan is also on board to produce the project which is set in 1977. At the time the Mossad was ordered to rescue thousands of Ethiopian Jewish refugees in Sudan and deliver them to the Jewish state.

The agency established a covert forward base in a deserted holiday village and deployed a handful of operatives to oversee the exodus of the refugees to the Promised Land.

Raff is also set to direct and produce a film adaptation of the Alice Laplante novel "Turn to Mind" for Fox 2000. Gail Berman would also produce a thriller about a retired surgeon suffering from Alzheimer’s who becomes a suspect in her friend's murder.

Daniel Dae Kim To Do North Korean Film

"Hawaii Five-o" star Daniel Dae Kim is developing Mike Kim's "Escaping North Korea" memoir into a feature film through his CBS-based production company 3Ad along with Sriram Das' Das Films.

Daniel Dae Kim will star as Mike Kim in the film which follows his first-hand account of a high-risk mission to lead a group of refugees over the North Korean border through Southeast Asia using a modern-day Underground Railroad.

Over the course of four years in Asia, he ended up aiding thousands of people of all ages find safe haven through his humanitarian missions. Rosalind Ross ("Matador") is attached to pen the adaptation while Chris S. Lee is producing.

"Mr. Robot" Finale Delayed Due To Shooting

USA Network has delayed the season finale of its well-received hacker drama "Mr. Robot" due to the shooting earlier today of a TV news reporter and a cameraman in Virginia.

In a statement, the network says: "The previously filmed season finale of 'Mr. Robot' contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time.".

USA confirms the episode will air in its entirety next Wednesday. The penultimate episode of the season has just aired in its place.

Mads Mikkelsen Talks "Rogue One" Role

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has become known in many international circles for playing villainous roles such as LeChiffre in "Casino Royale" and Hannibal Lecter in "Hannibal," but it looks like he'll be switching sides for the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" at Lucasfilm and Disney

Speaking to Danish paper Ekstra Bladet, Mikkelsen couldn't say much about his role but did offer a brief comment:

"It is very important role, a much I can say. No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months."

A Gay 007 Probably Won't Happen

One thing that's key to James Bond's character, especially in the films, is his seduction of women. That bed-hopping and chauvinistic attitude are a key element that very much defines the character, a coping mechanism to deal with the darkness of his job.

So it comes as a surprise that in a new interview with Details, former Bond star Pierce Brosnan was asked his opinion regarding changing the iconic secret agent's sexuality.

Discussing his happiness at the growing acceptance of the Lgbt community in his home country of Ireland, he was straight up asked if we would ever get to see a gay James Bond:

"Sure. Why not? Actually, I don't know how it would work. I don't think [producer] Barbara [Broccoli] would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for interesting viewing."
