"Spider-Man" Gets Animated

According to Tom Rothman, chairman of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, directors of "The Lego Movie" and "21 Jump Street", will take 'Spider-Man' "...back to his graphic roots..." with a new animated "Spider-Man" feature, that will exist independently of the projects in the ongoing live-action "Spider-Man" universe:

'Spider-Man' will next appear in a live-action Marvel film from the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' ('McU'). Sony Pictures will then release the next installment of its "Spider-Man" franchise, July 28, 2017, in a live-action film produced by Marvel's Kevin Feige and Sony's Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will also produce.

According to the studio, "...'Spider-Man', embraced all over the world, is the most successful franchise in the history of Sony Pictures, with the five films having taken in more than $4 billion worldwide..."

'Black Widow' Called A 'Slut' and A 'Whore'

Following a recent round of press interviews for "Avengers: Age Of Ultron", actors Chris Evans aka 'Captain America' and Jeremy Renner aka 'Hawkeye' have now apologized to outraged fans after referring to Scarlett Johansson's Russian assassin/killer character 'Black Widow', as a 'slut' and a 'whore':

The actors were asked whether 'Black Widow' would ever get involved with their characters, 'Hawkeye' or 'Captain America'.

"She's a slut," said Renner.

"I was going to say something along that line," added Evans. "... a complete whore."

"Trick," added Renner.

"She's a slut," said Evans. "She'll just flirt with everybody."

"The Invisible Man" Movie

According to reports, Sony is developing a fresh adaptation of author H.G. Wells' public domain science fiction novella "The Invisible Man", casting the scientist 'Griffin' as a terrorist villain, to be produced by Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick ("Divergent"):

"...'Griffin' is a scientist devoted to research into optics, inventing a way to change a body's refractive index to that of air, so that it absorbs and reflects no light and thus becomes invisible.

"He successfully carries out this procedure on himself, but fails in his attempt to reverse the procedure, devoting himself to a psychotic 'reign of terror'..."

"Star Trek 3" Updates

Director Justin Lin ("Fast and Furious 6") has revealed the title for his prepping feature "Star Trek 3":

Titled "Star Trek Beyond", the new film is already generating excitement in South Korea.

"I met with Jeffrey Chernov, producer of 'Star Trek 3'," said Seoul, South Korea Mayor Park Won-soon, "at the Paramount Pictures Studio and he agreed to film a portion of the upcoming movie in Seoul."

"S.H.I.E.L.D." Spin-Off: Enter 'Mockingbird'

According to reports, actress Adrianne Palicki aka 'Mockingbird' in "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." will star in a spin-off TV series for ABC, co-starring actor Nick Blood as agent 'Lance Hunter':

"...the new series will focus on the duo following the events of 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 2, executive produced by Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski who are are writing the script..."

While she has no superpowers, 'Mockingbird' is a trained 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' agent who graduated at the top of her class and as such can be expected to be proficient in several forms of hand-to-hand combat and familiar with a wide range of weapons.

The character usually uses a pair of batons which can be combined to form a single bō-staff in combat, weapons with which she has great expertise. She also possesses a PhD in biology. »
