"Metal Men" Movie Gearing Up

In the wake of the success of Marvel's "Iron Man", Warner Bros. confirms that DC Comics' "Metal Men" is being actively developed as a live-action feature for the big screen.

Director/cinematographer Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men In Black") is on board to direct.

"Metal Men" debuted in DC Comics' "Showcase" #37 (April 1962), created by writer Robert Kanigher and illustrator Ross Andru, as advanced artificially intelligent robots, created by scientist 'Dr. William "Will" Magnus'.

The six robots were field leader 'Gold', strong man 'Iron', slow-witted and loyal 'Lead', hot-headed 'Mercury', self-doubting and insecure 'Tin' and 'Platinum', aka 'Tina' who believed she was a real woman and in love with her creator.

Each 'Metal Man' also possessed abilities that reflected the traits of their namesake metal: Gold could stretch his form almost infinitely, Iron was super strong, Lead could block harmful radiation by morphing into thick shields, Mercury could melt »

"Avengers: Age Of Ultron" - 'Black Widow' and 'Captain America'

Take another look @ set images and footage from the "Avengers" sequel, "Avengers: Age Of Ultron", during location filming in the Sangam-dong district of Seoul, South Korea, that includes Chris Evans as 'Captain America' and a stunt-double as the leather-clad, red-haired Russian super-spy 'Black Widow':

The new film is produced by Marvel Studios, to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, as the eleventh installment in the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' (McU).

The film is scripted and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast that also includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader.

Second unit filming began February 2014 in South Africa with principal photography starting in March at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England. Additional footage was filmed in Italy.

"Avengers: Age Of Ultron" - 'Quicksilver'

Take another look @ Marvel Comics' 'Quicksilver', aka 'Pietro Maximoff', as played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Kick-Ass") from the set of Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Age Of Ultron":

Debuting in Marvel Comics' 'X-Men' #4 (March 1964), 'Quicksilver' was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, as the son of 'Magneto', twin brother of 'Scarlet Witch' and paternal half-brother of 'Polaris'.

An example of a ruthless villain turned good, the character is first revealed cinematically in a mid-credits scene in Marvel Studios' "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

"...'Quicksilver' is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. Originally capable of running at the speed of sound, the exposure to 'Isotope E' made it possible for the character to run at supersonic speeds of up to 'Mach 10', resisting the effects of friction, reduced oxygen and kinetic impact.

Ashley Tisdale Covers "Maxim"

Take another look @ actress Ashley Tisdale ("Sons Of Anarchy") from a recent issue of "Maxim" magazine.

Tisdale plays the lead character 'Jody' in "Scary Movie 5".

"There were so many cameos" Tisdale said about "Scary Movie 5", "and that's what I love about these movies. 

"They'd write a scene, then look for cameos, and they'd just pop in and do it.

"It was, like, 'Whoa, Mike Tyson's here'...and that wasn’t even planned!"

Tisdale's "High School Musical" track record included two TV movies, 1 feature film and several albums, with Tisdale following up with a Warner Bros. Records deal in 2006 allowing her to release the studio CDs "Headstrong" (2007) and "Guilty Pleasure" (2009).

During 2009 and 2010, Tisdale was cast in The CW's television series "Hellcats" as cheerleader 'Savannah Monroe'.

Tisdale also played the character  'Emma Jean' in "Sons Of Anarchy".

Although her film introduction was cut from director Joss Whedon's "The Avengers", fans are hoping that Marvel Comics character 'Janet Van Dyne' aka 'The Wasp', a founding member of the "Avengers" comic book team, will cameo in "Avengers: Age Of Ultron", considering her daughter 'Hope Van Dyne' (Evangeline Lilly) appears in Marvel Studios' currently shooting "Ant-Man" feature:

Actor Thomas Kretschmann plays Marvel Comics super-villain 'Baron Strucker' in director Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel, "Avengers: Age Of Ultron":
