VH1 Save The Music Foundation And Imagine Dragons Team Up For Music Education

Toyota, VH1 Save The Music Foundation and Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival, joined by Grammy Award-winning rock band and Las Vegas natives Imagine Dragons, presented three Las Vegas area schools with a $40,000 music education grant that will provide music instruments to enhance each school’s music programs and expand student participation.

Jordin Sparks And Burlington Stores Raise Funds To Fight Blood Cancers

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (Lls) is proud to announce its 16th consecutive year of partnership with Burlington Stores, the national off-price retailer.

Joining Burlington and Lls to support the cause for the first time is singer and songwriter Jordin Sparks, an avid activist for cancer research. Each September during Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Burlington and Lls team up to create awareness for the urgent need to fund research to advance cancer cures. A point of sale fundraising effort launched on Sunday in 599 Burlington stores across the country, encouraging customers to donate $1 or more at checkout to support Lls’s goal to create a world without blood cancer. The point of sale collection period will run through December 9, 2017.

Shawn Mendes Launches Crowdrise Campaign To Raise Money For Mexico Earthquake Relief

Shawn Mendes has announced that he is partnering with Red Cross to raise money and bring awareness to those in need after a devastating earthquake hit Mexico on Tuesday, September 19.

The campaign on CrowdRise, part of GoFundMe, is raising funds for immediate and urgent relief efforts in Mexico. The singer was in Mexico City during the quake preparing for his show on September 20, which was cancelled due to the state of emergency and out of respect for the ongoing relief efforts.

“After seeing the impact of the damage firsthand in Mexico, I wanted to find any way I could to help raise funds,” said Mendes. “So we reached out to the Red Cross and partnered with them to set up a way to help those affected by the earthquake.”

Along with Ag Artists, Shawn and his team have together donated $100,000 to start the fundraiser and are hoping others will follow. »

Nicolas Cage was in Mobile last week, and in between filming his new movie “Between Worlds” he found time to visit the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Training Center.

In an emotional speech, he personally thanked the brave men and women for their hurricane response efforts.

Nicolas has been recognized several times for being a humanitarian. He won a U.N. Award for his humanitarian work and was appointed a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented Nicolas with the U.N. Correspondents Association’s Global Citizen of the Year Award for humanitarian endeavors.

In 2016, he received the Andrea Bocelli Humanitarian Award at the third annual Celebrity Fight Night in Italy. Funds raised for the event benefited both the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
