Lena Dunham is obsessed with 'SNL'; Savannah Guthrie is obsessed with 'Girls'
"Girls" creator-star and soon-to-be "Saturday Night Live" host Lena Dunham sat for an interview with "Today" host Savannah Guthrie this week, where she discussed her long-time love for "SNL." And, it turns out, Guthrie is similarly devoted to "Girls."
"I love it with a passion," Dunham says in the interview in the "SNL" studio at Rockefeller Center. "'Obsessed' is not too strong of a word, and being here in this space is surreal and wonderful, and I just am so excited to soak up every inch of it. I was literally, like, staring at the hair stylists as they constructed wigs today, saying, 'I want to learn your secrets.'"
Toward the end of the segment, Guthrie outs herself as a »
Lindsay Lohan and Jimmy Fallon go to water war on 'The Tonight Show'
If there's anything Jimmy Fallon can do to make his "Tonight Show" guests feel comfortable, it's throwing ice-cold water in their face, right? Lindsay Lohan as the target of that during her appearance on the show Thursday (March 6).
She challenged Fallon to a water war, which ended with Lohan brandishing a water cannon and blasting him in the face with it. Not a bad way to end your night for either, who looked like they were having a blast. Lohan was there to promote her Own docu-series "Lindsay," which premieres Sunday.
Watch Kanye West's surprise 'Arsenio' performance with Rick Ross
4 hours ago
The audience of "The Arsenio Hall Show" had no idea what they were in for Thursday night (March 6) when rapper Rick Ross took the stage for a performance of "Sanctified." When Hall said there were some special guests, the crowd couldn't have expected Kanye West to run onto the stage.
He did, though. West and Big Sean accompanied Ross, and the audience loved every second of it. They weren't alone, as West looked like he was having quite a bit of fun playing to a much smaller crowd than he's used to.
It was the second night of great musical performance in a row for "Arsenio," which welcomed Prince on Wednesday. At this rate, some of the other late-night talk shows are going to have to step up their game. »
'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For': Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in first trailer
4 hours ago
It's been nearly a decade since the "Sin City" world came to life on the big screen and it's finally ready to return. Though a sequel has been in the works on and off for years, the first teaser trailer for "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" has arrived.
Several stars are returning from the first, including Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Mickey Rourke. The movie also has more than it's fair share of new faces, though. Among them is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, fresh off the first season of his "HitRECord on TV."
Levitt plays Johnny, a gambler who beats the wrong man at the wrong game. He has a couple interesting moments in the trailer, and looks like he's taken quite a beating.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" is in theaters Aug. 22. »
Donald Glover returning to 'Community'? Probably not
6 hours ago
Rumors of Glover's return began to surface thanks to a "hackathon" planned for SXSW. As his alter-ego of Childish Gambino, Glover will be participating in the event. Glover tweeted a link to a "Deep Web Tour" website where fans can register to receive updates.
The first e-mail, however, may have been misleading:
This does look like a return to "Community" is possible, but it's almost definitely not going to happen this season. There are two main reasons for that: 1) "Community" Season 5 wrapped production in December. 2) The e-mail is apparently a hoax. A fan-site Twitter account claimed as much on Thursday (March 6):
To people asking about the hackathon/community email: it is fake.

'Harmontown': Watch the trailer for the Dan Harmon documentary
14 hours ago
Warning: This video is Nsfw.
TV fans know Dan Harmon best as the creator and four-seasons-out-of-five showrunner of "Community." Now it looks like those fans are going to learn a whole lot more about Harmon, thanks to a Nerdist-produced documentary, "Harmontown."
The documentary is set to premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas on Saturday (March 8) and promises to give fans an inside look into the writer's odd and popular "Harmontown" podcasts. Mostly performed during the period in which Harmon was removed from "Community" -- all of Season 4 -- these silly, drunken, often-profane shows display just about everything people love and hate about Harmon.
What's the end result? Harmon himself probably says it best: "I know that I am not just a fat, fired alcoholic -- I have an effect on people. »
Rt-America anchor Liz Wahl quits on-air due to Russian policy
16 hours ago
An anchor with the Rt-America news channel resigned on-air over the Russian government's actions toward Ukraine and her network's coverage of those events. The video of Liz Wahl's quitting has since gone viral.
Rt-America is a cable and Internet network funded by the Russian government and with a focus on Russian news and events. Meant for an American audience, the news is hosted by Americans like Wahl.
At least the news was hosted by Wahl, until she quit on Wednesday (March 5).
"Personally I cannot be a part of a network that whitewashes the actions of Putin," Wahl says of the Russian President. "I am proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth and that is why after this newscast, I'm resigning."
Wahl is the second Rt-America anchor to express frustration with the network's treatment of Russia's intervention in Ukraine. Earlier in the week, anchor Abby Martin denounced the Russian actions. »

'Rhobh's' Carlton Gebbia taken to hospital after passing out drunk in public
19 hours ago
The ladies of Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise certainly love their liquor, but there's at least one who may steer clear of the bottle for a good while.
Recent "Beverly Hills" addition Carlton Gebbia gave friends quite a scare while out to dinner on Wednesday (March 5) when she passed out after imbibing one too many tequila shots.
A call was made to 911 around 9:20 p.m. and when paramedics arrived, Gebbia was still unconscious at her table, TMZ reports. The reality star was taken out of the restaurant, Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
On Thursday morning, Gebbia addressed the scary incident on Twitter. "Sorry!Apparently I don't hve the Irish wooden leg! All is well," she writes. "Thk uCant handle 6shots of tequila.Wen did I become such a lightweight?"
She followed that up with another tweet, writing, "I can't even explain what happened. »
Aaron Carter is really not over Hilary Duff: Singer professes love on Twitter
20 hours ago
The singer, who dated the former "Lizzie McGuire" star as a teen in the early 2000s, took to Twitter on Wednesday (March 5) with a startling (and sort-of cringeworthy) public declaration of love for the newly single Duff.
After retweeting a photo of Duff with the caption "Hilary Duff is flawless," Carter writes, "Don't be that stupid d***** that loses the love of your life forever. Like me..."
He continues, "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what Any of you think."
Though it's more than obvious he's talking about Duff, he never names her outright. When a fan asks if it's his ex who he's talking about, though, he confirms the assumption in a tweet that's since been deleted, though captured by People. »
Watch Prince take over 'Arsenio,' perform with 3Rdeyegirl and The New Power Generation
21 hours ago
If there was any doubt as to whether Prince is one of the coolest musicians alive, further proof was offered Wednesday (March 5) when the legendary artist took over "The Arsenio Hall Show."
Above, Prince fields audience questions, where he reveals his pet peeve is when strangers touch his hair, and that the one household chore he does is cook -- but not pancakes! He can make omelets. "All my friends have high cholesterol," he quips.
Below, when asked what his favorite song is from his own catalog and Prince says there's a new song he just wrote called "The Breakdown" that is his favorite right now. He also reveals that he doesn't really watch reality singing competition shows because when he does watch, he sits there and re-arranges the music in his head.
Regarding social media, Prince also jokes that he wants to launch "Prince-tagram." We would totally download that app. »
Ellen DeGeneres gave Jennifer Lawrence an Oscars junk food snack
22 hours ago
Kristen Bell brought a burrito to the Oscars. Kerry Washington packed snacks in her purse. Since the annual ceremony doesn't serve food, many stars in the audience were forced to fend off their hunger during the long show with their own travel-sized treats, and Jennifer Lawrence was no exception.
The lover of Doritos and junk food in general brought a bag of Pop Rocks into the Dolby Theatre with her for the awards show. Surprisingly, though, she wasn't the one who had packed them. Instead, it was the folks on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" who gave her the Pop Rocks she took into the Oscars.
"When I'm presenting, I'm going to pour them into my mouth," she told Us Weekly on the red carpet before the show. As we now know, she didn't follow through on that claim.
But since she is Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar winner also came with protein-filled snacks of her own. »
Andrew Garfield and 'Batkid' visit Disneyland after scrapped Oscars 2014 segment
22 hours ago
The questions surrounding Andrew Garfield's absence from Sunday's (March 2) 86th Academy Awards can finally be put to rest. It turns out it was the Academy who canceled on him.
After reports surfaced that Garfield had backed out of the planned segment, which involved making "Batkid" Miles Scott an official superhero during the ceremony, mid-dress rehearsal because he didn't like his lines, the Academy has released an official statement confirming that it was their decision to scrap what was sure to have been a touching moment.
"Due to the nature of a live show, hard decisions sometimes must be made which require the Academy to cut segments due to the logistics of production," a rep tells Us Weekly.
It's a bummer we didn't get to see the moment, but young Miles didn't walk away empty-handed after the plan was scrapped. Instead, he got to spend the day with Garfield at Disneyland. »
Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard confront paparazzi execs on 'Access Hollywood': Watch the heated debate
23 hours ago
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are fighting to change how children of Hollywood's biggest stars are subjected to aggressive paparazzi by getting media outlets to adopt a "No Kids" policy. Their campaign has already seen success, as websites and magazines have met with the couple to support their efforts.
"Access Hollywood" went one step further and invited paparazzi execs onto the show for a debate with Bell and Shepard about why they think the couple's campaign won't work. Akm-gsi photo agency head Steve Ginsburg and Christian Zimmerman defended themselves and even went so far as to call Bell "hysterical." Yeesh.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick finally getting married?
6 March 2014 12:45 PM, PST
The Kardashian family rumor mill has jumped into high gear. Not long after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's supposed wedding date was reportedly set, now a new story claims that longtime partners Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are ready to tie the knot as well.
According to Life & Style, Kardashian and Disick are planning to elope and have a wedding in Mexico. So what's changed from the last time that Kardashian turned down his proposal? "Kourtney realized she's all he has," a source tells the site. "It made her see things differently."
The gossip mag claims that they are planning to wed at friend's Joe Francis' home in Punta Mita, Mexico, which was where they first met. The reason for the elopement is apparently because she wants a smaller wedding than Kim and Kanye's.
"Things are going really well between them," a source says. "She's finally agreed to walk down the aisle. »
'Veronica Mars' Team Dick: Who needs Logan or Piz when Dick Casablancas is around?
6 March 2014 8:30 AM, PST
The thing about "Veronica Mars" fans is that they're so caught up in whether to side with Team Logan or Team Piz that they're missing out on the clear winner: Team Dick.
Dick Casablancas (Ryan Hansen) is the unsung hero of "Veronica Mars." Sure, he's mostly a creep and a jerk, but he's a lovable creepy jerk. Just when things got a bit too heavy, Dick would show up to somehow make a fool of himself. Plus, he was the only real friend Logan had, after Duncan dumped him. Sure, he wasn't necessarily good at it, but that doesn't matter.
Then there were those rare times when you actually saw that Dick has an emotional side. Most of those occurred in Season 3, after his dad split and his brother killed himself. It was in those moments that you saw how broken he really was. For Dick, it was all about »

Watch Stephen Colbert tackle Bill O'Reilly's assertion that a female president has to have a downside
6 March 2014 7:45 AM, PST
Stephen Colbert and his razor-sharp wit took aim at Bill O'Reilly Wednesday's (March 5) "Colbert Report," when he lambasted O'Reilly's recent assertion that a woman cannot do the job of president as well as a man can.
O'Reilly said on Fox News, "There's gotta be some downside to having a woman president, right? Something. Something that may not fit with that office, correct? ... Men are men and women are women, there's a difference. There's gotta be a downside to a woman."
Colbert's response: "How is she going to press the nuclear launch button? Everything in the oval office is penis-activated -- been that way since the Kennedy administration. Plus, and I don't wanna get too technical or scientific, but women sit down to pee. If there's a terror attack, a man can just zip up and go, while she is wasting hours sending letters in that little mailbox in there."
Watch Annette Bening and Jimmy Fallon play flip cup on 'The Tonight Show'
6 March 2014 7:15 AM, PST
Four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening stopped by "The Tonight Show" Wednesday (March 5), where she played against host Jimmy Fallon in a rousing game of flip cup, which is the best drinking game ever.
Bening did better than you might think -- she almost pulled it out at the end, it got quite exciting!
Below, Bening talks about getting her start in acting in New York City and how she slept on a mattress in her friend Sally's closet for a while when she first moved there. Aww, that's so adorable.
