Elizabeth Banks and Ben Falcone on New Parent Freakouts, the Extra Who Went Into Labor on Set

11 May 2012 9:05 AM, PDT

Elizabeth Banks and Ben Falcone brought plenty of real-life experience to their roles as new parents in What to Expect When You're Expecting. We caught up with the duo at a recent press day for the movie and talked about their own parental anxieties, Elizabeth's tendency toward tears, and one pregnant extra who actually went into labor in the middle of a scene! We also asked Elizabeth about Catching Fire, and she revealed the one thing she's most looking forward to about working with new director Francis Lawrence. What to Expect When You're Expecting hits theaters May 18. »

ABC Renews Revenge, Once Upon a Time, Modern Family, and More

11 May 2012 8:36 AM, PDT

With season finales rolling on, we may be wondering about the fate of certain characters, but now we at least know the fate of some of the shows. In the case of most of ABC's slate, there's good news: ABC is renewing freshman series Once Upon a Time, Revenge, and Suburgatory, as well as veteran series Modern Family, The Middle, Grey's Anatomy, and Castle. ABC's reality shows Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, and Shark Tank also got picked up for additional seasons. There's no news yet on the fate of Happy Endings or Private Practice, but let's just say we have our fingers crossed. Photos copyright 2012 ABC, Inc. »

Dark Shadows: Should Have Stayed Buried

11 May 2012 3:05 AM, PDT

Bringing back a 1960s TV series about a vampire sounds like a perfect job for director Tim Burton, who became a modern master of cinematic goth with movies like Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Sleepy Hollow. But even with star and frequent collaborator Johnny Depp, the film adaptation of Dark Shadows fails to live up to Burton's previous work. Sadly, it feels more like a lazy, scattered project from someone trying to imitate Burton's style. Depp stars as Barnabus Collins, a man who is turned into a vampire in the late 1700s by Angelique (Eva Green), a witch whose heart he has broken. After his loved ones are killed by Angelique, Barnabus is buried for 200 years until he's accidentally dug up. Back in his mansion in the 1970s, he gets acquainted with the existing Collins clan (including Michelle Pfeiffer and Chloë Grace Moretz), and sets about building a relationship with them, »

Battleship Star and Real-Life Veteran Greg Gadson Shares His Inspiring Story

11 May 2012 1:35 AM, PDT

Lieutenant colonel Greg Gadson is not only an actor in one of this Summer's biggest action movies, he is a real American hero. In 2007, while the decorated Army commander was stationed in Iraq and returning from a memorial service for two fellow soldiers, his car was hit by a roadside bomb. He lost both his legs in the accident and his right arm and hand were severely damaged. Since then, Greg's story of recovery and triumph over challenge has become an inspiration to many, and he's shared his journey with thousands of people as both a public speaker and the director of the Us Army's Wounded Warrior program. Battleship director Peter Berg was among those touched by Greg's experience, and made it his mission to track him down for the role of Lieutenant Colonel Mick Canales in the film. The first-time actor didn't shy away from the challenge and, when »

Community Renewed For Another Season

10 May 2012 11:14 PM, PDT

NBC had good news all around today - after renewing Parenthood and 30 Rock, they also had good news for Community, giving the comedy an additional season. It'll be a shortened season of 13 episodes (which is also what 30 Rock is getting when it returns), but as a fan of the show, I'll take what I can get, and I'm guessing you will too. The Office, "Free Family Portrait Studio": Best Lines of the Night

10 May 2012 10:04 PM, PDT

This week is the season finale of The Office, and Dwight puts on a family portrait studio for his co-workers, but it's really to prove that he's the father of Angela's baby. Andy comes in looking absolutely crazy, but we learn that our old friend David Wallace has decided to buy Dunder-Mifflin from Sabre and give Andy his old job back. Darryl makes his affection for Val very clear to everyone - including her current boyfriend Brandon. After Andy gets drunk at the office and begs for any work, Catherine lets him clean the carpet, but Andy really just wants to be there when David announces the changes. Before he shows up, Andy spills the beans and tells everyone he's gotten his old job back. On a more adventurous but completely unrelated note, Dwight and Angela make out, and Val makes a grand gesture to show that she's into Darryl. »

The Vampire Diaries Season Finale "The Departed": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

10 May 2012 7:02 PM, PDT

Season three of The Vampire Diaries has come to an end, folks, and forgive me if I am still sitting here with my jaw wide open. The finale is eventful, to say the least, and like seasons past, we saw the deaths of a couple of characters - along with the red herring deaths of a couple of characters. Oh, and by that I mean that something super crazy happens in the final moments of the episode that we'll be talking about all Summer. I can't really talk about too much before the break without spoiling everything, so let's get to it. Dry your tears over that fact that there won't be any new episodes of The Vampire Diaries for a few months, and let's get to the final good, bad, and bloody of season three after the jump. »

American Idol: Was the Right Person Voted Off?

10 May 2012 6:23 PM, PDT

Hollie Cavanagh is the latest casualty of American Idol, and I can't say we didn't see this one coming. This week wasn't her strongest week, and her song choices didn't quite impress the judges - or Jimmy Iovine, who openly criticized her lack of connection to the songs she selected. To be fair, she's up against some solid competition. Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet have been getting nothing but praise, and Phillip Phillips, well, he's just cute as a button, and there's no way the teenage girls of America are letting him go just yet. What do you think, was it a good time for Hollie to depart? Photo courtesy of Fox American Idol: Was the Right Person Voted Off? Yes - Her voice just isn't up to par. No - I can't believe it! »

See Johnny Depp as a Vampire and More Dark Shadows Pictures

10 May 2012 4:12 PM, PDT

We're just a day away from seeing Johnny Depp sink his teeth into his role as a vampire in Dark Shadows, and this new crop of photos is making us realize just how funny Tim Burton's latest might be. Not only does Barnabus (Depp) size up the rest of the cast like Chloe Moretz, Eva Green and Michelle Pfeiffer, but he also stares down a troll doll and tries to brush his teeth fangs. Check 'em out! NBC Renews Parenthood and Gives 30 Rock One Final Season

10 May 2012 3:28 PM, PDT

Good news for Parenthood fans who have been anxiously awaiting news on the bubble show: it's been picked up for a fourth season! NBC has also given the green light to a seventh season of 30 Rock - but it will be the last. The season will also be shortened, giving the show 13 episodes to wrap things up. I'm happy about this news across the board: I've been pulling for Parenthood since the beginning, and it feels time for 30 Rock to be put to bed. How do you feel about this news? After rumors swirled that Cougar Town might be getting cancelled, showrunners have found a solution to keep the series on the air: Cougar Town will change networks from ABC to TBS. After the current, third season ends, the show will resume its next season on the cable channel in early 2013. Fox Renews Touch, Cancels Alcatraz and The Finder

10 May 2012 10:23 AM, PDT

Although Fox's Upfront presentation isn't until next week, the network has already come forward with some bittersweet news. They've renewed the Kiefer Sutherland drama Touch for a second season, but Alcatraz and The Finder have both been axed. J.J. Abrams's supernatural action series Alcatraz might not be dead and buried yet; the show is reportedly being shopped around at other networks, so there is a chance it could be revived. Unfortunately, Bones spinoff The Finder is most likely done forever. If you're a fan, be sure to catch the finale Friday night for one last goodbye to the series. Photo courtesy of Fox »

Do You Think Britney Spears Will Make a Good X Factor Host?

10 May 2012 8:50 AM, PDT

It's official: Britney Spears has signed a deal with Fox to be a judge on the upcoming season of The X Factor. Spears will be joining existing coaches Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid for the show, which is set to air in the Fall. It seems music competitions have been pulling bigger and bigger names to their shows as of late, with Christina Aguilera currently set to return for a third season of The Voice and Jennifer Lopez on the panel at American Idol. After so many swirling rumors, I'm excited to hear that this is really happening, and given that the show wasn't doing superswell ratings-wise last season, I think Britney is a great draw. However, The X Factor is unique in that it requires the coaches to really mentor their pupils, which is not the type of commitment we've seen her take on in the past. What do you think, »
