Happy Earth Day! 5 TV Characters Who Care About the Planet

22 April 2012 12:22 PM, PDT

Today is Earth Day, when we're supposed to try extra hard to do the things we should be doing all year long to save the planet. To that end, I'll be recycling, composting, using public transportation - and thinking about my favorite earth-conscious TV characters! Phoebe Buffay, Friends: She may be a little wishy-washy on her rules (remember when she had to eat meat during her pregnancy? Or couldn't stop wearing that fur coat?), but Phoebe is an animal lover through and through. Case in point: she dumps guest star Michael Rappaport when he shoots a bird, even though they just decided to move in together. Plus, she's a friend to smelly cats everywhere. Jessie Spano, Saved by the Bell: Women's rights may have been Jessie's biggest cause, but she was willing to protest just about anything. She and Kelly even handcuffed themselves to a fake oil derrick to »

Buzz Blabber: More Delena, Please

22 April 2012 3:05 AM, PDT

With a series premiere, a hotly anticipated makeout session, and a super creepy viral video all hitting the airwaves this week, it seems like everybody had something to say. BuzzSugar readers were all about Damon and Elena's passionate kiss (if only there were more!) while another sexy gent, Michael Fassbender, infiltrated our desktops in a viral video for Prometheus. Take a look to see what you said about these hot topics and the first episode of Girls! You're all for the big kiss on The Vampire Diaries "Just finished watching the episode, and everything else seems so insignificant compared to that makeout session! I just knew it from the moment they held hands in the bed, so much sexual tension. If only Jeremy wasn't there or hadn't interrupted, I wondered what would have happened." - nessa17 "Great episode. Great kiss. Finally! I can't choose between Damon and Stefan either. I'd »

Some of our favorite stars were busy doing their thing on set this week. Channing Tatum worked on This Bitter Pill in NYC, while down in Miami, Mark Wahlberg continued shooting scenes for Pain and Gain. In Paris, Mélanie Laurent and Mark Ruffalo were looking generally adorable while filming for Now You See Me, but back in La, Vanessa Williams and Eva Longoria were busy running to the church for Desperate Housewives. Rewind: Gearing Up For Summer Movie Season

21 April 2012 3:05 AM, PDT

Summer movie season is almost here and we're celebrating with pictures of the hottest stars of the season. And with Summer just around the corner, we brushed up on concerts with a guide to the various upcoming music festivals. Behold: the Magic Mike trailer, otherwise known as the Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey stripper movie. And also known as the highlight of our month. In Hunger Games news, we learned that Francis Lawrence will direct Catching Fire. We rounded up all the character posters for On the Road after Kristen Stewart's was released. Robert Pattinson is all kinds of sexy in the first full trailer for Cosmopolis, which has him darting around town in a limo and putting some moves on the ladies. James Franco turned 34, so we paid homage with a gallery of his many onscreen faces. The trailer for Your Sister's Sister hit, and we love the love triangle between Emily Blunt, »

Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner Talk About The Avengers' Humor and Prepping to Be Black Widow and Hawkeye

20 April 2012 12:30 PM, PDT

What's interesting about Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner's characters in The Avengers is that neither one actually has superpowers. They play Black Widow and Hawkeye, respectively, both of whom are trained S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who just happen to be amazing at kicking butt. I recently chatted with the duo at the film's press day in La, where they discussed their characters' backstories and why the film is funnier than they expected. Johansson also discussed what it's like to play the only female Avenger. Watch! »

Francis Lawrence Will Direct The Hunger Games Sequel Catching Fire

20 April 2012 8:30 AM, PDT

The hunt has been on for a new director for the sequel to The Hunger Games ever since Gary Ross dropped out, and now Lionsgate has found a replacement. Francis Lawrence will direct Catching Fire, which is set to be released in November of 2013. Lawrence, who has directed I Am Legend and Water for Elephants, has a challenge ahead of him, considering the tight schedule of the production and the elements of Catching Fire, but I'm excited to see what he can do. What do you think about this latest Hunger Games development? »

The Lucky One: Take This Schmaltz

20 April 2012 5:30 AM, PDT

The premise of The Lucky One is a little convoluted, but the basics of the story are not: boy meets girl, they fall for each other, and then must overcome some obstacle to be together. If that simple formula is enough for you, you'll enjoy watching the romantic drama, but if you're looking for more than a cheesy love story, you won't find it here. Zac Efron stars as Logan, a former marine who avoids death a couple of times in combat, and attributes his survival to a good luck charm: a photograph he found in the rubble. When he returns home from overseas, he's determined to find the woman in the picture to thank her. After walking for days across several states, he reaches his destination and finds the woman, Beth (Taylor Schilling), a single mom who runs a dog kennel. Tongue-tied, Logan fails to tell Beth why he's there, »

Buzz Time Machine: See Kate Hudson's First Role on Party of Five

20 April 2012 3:05 AM, PDT

Kate Hudson skyrocketed to fame after her Oscar-nominated turn as Penny Lane in 2000's Almost Famous, but that wasn't her first role. No, no, the A-lister - who turns 33 this week - had her first role ever on the '90s prime-time staple Party of Five. Dozens of movies later, she boasts an impressive resume, but we like to remember a simpler time when she was just a girl trying to tell Justin how much she appreciates how adorable, smart, and funny he is. This is a must see for Party of Five and Kate fans alike. »

The Office, "Angry Andy": Best Lines of the Night

19 April 2012 10:14 PM, PDT

After his long romantic debacle, Andy is back at The Office this week with Erin on his arm. Just when he thought everything was finally working out, he's got to battle it out with Nellie for the manager's position. Everyone tries to put in their two cents about how he can be more manly, and just as the name of the episode implies, Andy does in fact get angry. Very angry. After being provoked by Erin's anger, Andy gets really out of line, but by the end of the episode, I was really surprised when he decides to leave. I'm just hoping this won't stick because it means a lot more Nellie. On a happier note, I was thrilled to see Kelly get some quality action this week! I didn't even realize how much I had been missing her. Watching her choose between her new man Ravi and Ryan made »

American Idol: Was the Right Person Voted Off?

19 April 2012 6:54 PM, PDT

Let's get right to the most important part of this week's elimination show, the homecoming of one of American Idol's finest graduates: Taylor Hicks. Oh right, I guess Kris Allen was there too, and after a couple contestants were sent to the dreaded bottom three stools, Lmfao treated us to a performance of their new single, "Sorry For Party Rocking." Hollie Cavanagh, Elise Testone, and Colton Dixon were in the bottom three. Hollie and Elise had been there before, but this was Colton's first time . . . which made it especially shocking when he was sent home! The person who was most disappointed? Probably Phillip Phillips, whose teary expression they panned to after it was announced that America had ousted his bro. Personally, I didn't see Colton winning this season, but he got pretty far for a guy who didn't even plan on auditioning in the first place. What do you think, »

The Vampire Diaries "Heart of Darkness": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

19 April 2012 6:52 PM, PDT

On this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, we take a road trip to Denver with Elena and Damon, which leads to possibly the best moment we've ever seen between these two. There's also a reconciliation for another couple, while a dearly departed character shows up with something very important to say to us all. While everyone is trying to figure out the vampire bloodlines to determine if they can kill Klaus, Klaus has his own goal: to find the last stake that can kill Originals, which leads to a bloody standoff between Stefan and Alaric, and a surprising cliff-hanger. I don't want to spoil anything though, so let's get to the good, the bad, and the bloody after the jump. »

Paul Dano Falls For His Literal Dream Girl in the Ruby Sparks Trailer

19 April 2012 4:25 PM, PDT

Get ready to swoon! In the trailer for indie romantic comedy Ruby Sparks, Paul Dano plays Calvin, a struggling novelist who creates a character - a female muse named Ruby Sparks - to help him finish his book. Imagine his surprise when he finds Ruby (Zoe Kazan) in his apartment one day as his living, breathing dream girl. She's in love with him, and Calvin has to figure out what's going on: is she really real, is he crazy, and either way, if he can write whatever he wants and have Ruby do it, what should he write next? Kazan also wrote the screenplay, and the directors are the same ones from Little Miss Sunshine. That's enough to get me to see it, but the fact that Dano and Kazan are a real-life couple also makes me excited (as does adorable supporting cast member Chris Messina). The whimsical movie opens »
