Disney Channel’s Dark And Delightful “Descendants”

What happens after “happily ever after”? In Descendants, if you’re the hero and heroine of a Disney fairy tale, you live in the enchanted kingdom of Auradon — a land of beauty and possibility. But if you’re one of Disney’s legendary villains, you are exiled to the miserable and forbidden Isle of the Lost. Now, a benevolent young king — himself the heir of Beast and Belle from Beauty and the Beast — offers a chance at redemption to the four offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar with the opportunity to attend prep school in … Continue reading →

Done with the “Daily” grind. Here’s when to watch Jon Stewart’s last Daily Show

30 July 2015 12:27 PM, PDT

What will we do without Jonnie Stew? The Daily Show Daily Show Full Episodes,  More Daily Show Videos,  Comedy Central Full Episodes   Sure, I thought the same of Stephen Colbert and The Colbert Report back in December, but my mourning was tempered with the understanding that I’m getting Stephen back next month in Letterman’s place. Jon … well, I don’t know. And that stings. Yes, The Daily Show will go on. But not The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Because I’m a print journalist who still believes hard in the medium, I get my daily news from a handful … Continue reading →

They have the best catfish-investigation tools available to them! But back to Thad’s story. He needed a stranger’s help with some issues he was dealing with at home and along came Sara. Skin Wars Season 2 Episode 7: Blacklights & teams!

29 July 2015 7:30 PM, PDT

Skin Wars Season 2 Episode 7 begins with a circus challenge. Kyle is an aerial ice skater, which I don’t quite get, but he’s really excited for this week’s challenge. This makes me nervous for his chances today. Don’t take away my quirky Kyle yet! (And don’t be so obvious. Contestant loves challenge = they’re going home. We get it.) These classic circus paints are meant to appear in front of a circus themed background. Aryn goes with a person shooting out of a cannon. Avi does a lizard woman. Cheryl Ann does a balancing elephant. Lana does a sword … Continue reading →

Nat Geo Wild announces World Lion Day programming in response to Cecil the Lion’s death

29 July 2015 11:18 AM, PDT

The death of a beloved, humanized Zimbabwean lion named Cecil at the hands of an American hunter has sparked outrage everywhere from Twitter to Jimmy Kimmel’s emotional thoughts on the subject during his show last night. Nat Geo Wild today announced that, in response to Cecil the Lion’s tragic death, the network will commemorate World Lion Day on Aug. 10 with a lineup of big cat programming to “remind viewers why these vital apex predators are so important to protect.” (Note that these shows are not directly about Cecil, but about lions in general.) “Nat Geo Wild has supported the National Geographic … Continue reading →

#TCA15: Who let the freaks out? Todrick!

29 July 2015 8:39 AM, PDT

MTV unleashes the freaks! Todrick Hall @toddyrockstar lights it up at #TCA15. pic.twitter.com/1nvu7Hx4iB — Channel Guide (@ChannelGuide) July 29, 2015 On a Wednesday morning at the TCA Summer Press Tour, there’s nothing that will wake a person up faster than “Who Let the Freaks Out?” I grew up in the 1980s, and it was my understanding that the freaks came out at night, not at 9am on a Wednesday. So I had to pose the question to YouTube star Todrick Hall, who is getting his own MTV series premiering Aug. 31. Me: Hi, guys. Good morning. First question, who did let the freaks … Continue reading →

Animal Planet statement on passing of Kipenzi the Giraffe

29 July 2015 8:34 AM, PDT

Back in April, Animal Planet live-streamed and aired live the birth of a giraffe at the Dallas Zoo. Yesterday, sadly, that young giraffe — named Kipenzi — died in an accident that occurred while she was running in her enclosure. Animal Planet issued the following statement this morning: “Like our friends and fellow animal lovers at the Dallas Zoo and around the world, Animal Planet is completely heartbroken after learning of the tragic news of Kipenzi’s death. “The 24×7 coverage we offered of Katie’s pregnancy and Kipenzi’s birth was one of the most exciting and beautiful projects we have undertaken … Continue reading →

Scream episode 5 recap: Broken ties

29 July 2015 8:10 AM, PDT

On the last episode of MTV’s Scream, Emma’s first time with Will was uploaded to everyone’s phone through Nina’s laptop. While trying to figure out who was responsible for recording her, she gets a phone call from Ghostface. Seems like he might be a suspect. as well. My guess is that Jake has something to do with this little video and Nina wasn’t so innocent either. There’s a new detective on the case — an old friend of the Sheriff’s. While at the vigil she asks Emma if she’d be able to stop by the sheriff’s office to speak with … Continue reading →

Total Divas Season 4, Episode 4 Recap: Divas on Overdrive

28 July 2015 11:47 PM, PDT

The saying “sisters before misters” was tested this week on Total Divas in two different scenarios. First, Alicia Fox was none too happy when Paige backed out of moving in with her.Instead the raven-haired beauty decided to shack up with boyfriend Kevin Skaff, who just so happens to be in the band A Day to Remember. This leads to an uncomfortable scene at Alicia’s housewarming party where the host, clearly more than a little buzzed, basically ran down Paige and her choice in men. Paige brought up the situation during a car ride to a show, which led to an argument … Continue reading →

10 days ago, 12 survivalists were brought to the Colombian badlands in what can only be described as the world’s toughest survival challenge: No Food, No Water, and no Clothes. They’ve been divided into four groups in the area’s four distinct topographies and already, one of the survivalists has been unable to continue in the harsh and unforgiving environment and tapped out. Jeff, Hakim and Ej begin their journeys in the hot and volcanic Roca Diablo (Devil Rocks), but Hakim tapped out on day 4. Jeff and Ej have located a water source and caught fish. Dance Moms Season 5 episode 26 recap: Babies, bats and unruly hats …

28 July 2015 7:52 PM, PDT

Mama’s home, boys and girls! And since I was away for so long, I want everyone to hit up the comments section and tell me the best thing and the worst thing about the two episodes I missed. Also, veteran readers, how about that John R. Kasich, Governor, running for president?! At least We know who the guy is, anyway. Looks like we got us an intact Aldc La while I was away, too. Jill’s so happy about it that she decides to do a cartwheel in a skirt, which allows the first screen capture of my return to feature … Continue reading →

28 July 2015 7:30 PM, PDT

The Face Off Season 9 premiere starts with the usual – we get to meet the cast. We also get teased with a challenge that includes creating a short film. That’ll be cool to see the makeups in action & see how well they hold up. The cast meet each other in pairs outside the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. We also get a little mini-introduction to some of the cast. There’s a lot of them, so it’s hard to keep track of them all. #TCA15: Netflix is the Happiest Place on Earth

28 July 2015 7:02 PM, PDT

A reporter today at the TCA Press Tour mentioned that Netflix seems like the “happiest place on Earth” for someone to work in the entertainment business. Ratings? Netflix don’t need no stinking ratings! They don’t care, and they’re certainly not giving any kind of ratings/audience numbers to the press. Netflix can defy the TV space/time continuum! You don’t have to edit shows to fit a certain length. You’re not beholden to timeslots or seasons, or commercial breaks or live sports events preempting your shows. If someone wants to watch every episode of a show in a single sitting, they can … Continue reading →

Bachelorette finale left one man feeling: “I’m the world’s biggest joke”

28 July 2015 5:11 AM, PDT

The odds that the 2015 season of The Bachelorette were going to be out of control were evident right from the beginning with the whole Britt Nilsson versus Kaitlyn Bristowe, but we never predicted this one. It felt like it would come down to a coin toss for Kaitlyn Bristowe as she confessed her confused love toward both of her finalists — Nick Viall and Shawn Booth. In the end Kaitlyn professed her exclusive love to Shawn Booth and the two are now engaged. For Nick Viall it was a painful déjà vu and complete blindside. The Chicago software sales … Continue reading →

Devious Maids Season 3 Episode 9 Recap: Sleeping with the enemy

27 July 2015 7:00 PM, PDT

On the last episode of Devious Maids, Evelyn made it pretty clear that she would stop at nothing to get a child from the adoption agency, and pronto. While Adrian doesn’t know about Evelyn’s generous donation to the agency, he knows she wants a child and that she has been acting oddly nice to him since they came home. Upon returning home from the hospital, Evelyn finally reveals the surprise that she has waiting for Adrian — a kid! I don’t exactly think that’s a present Adrian wanted, but this should bring up an interesting discussion. Adrian starts to wonder … Continue reading →

“We Bare Bears” Premieres Today on Cartoon Network

27 July 2015 12:17 PM, PDT

Cartoon Network’s newest animated series premieres July 27 (and airs weekdays at 6:30pm Et/ 5:30pm Ct), and my kids can Bear-ly contain their excitement. We Bare Bears, is about a trio of Bay-area bears: Ice Bear, Panda and Grizzly who — despite their obvious difference of breed — are brothers. The series is a charming, pop-culture laden series that I really enjoyed. It’s cute for kids, but awesome for adults because while the bears are sweet and good, they’re also pretty self- and socially aware. Ice Bear (voiced by Demetri Martin) is a bear of few words who refers to … Continue reading →
