Review: The King Blues @The Haunt, Brighton, April 24

After weeks of anticipation for the release of The Gospel Truth (April 14), it was just a matter of time until I traveled up to Brighton to see The King Blues on their latest tour.

Packed into the Haunt near the seafront, the venue was full of eager fans waiting to see Itch and the gang storm the stage and entertain us with a solid two hour set. Before they even got on stage we had the pleasure of meeting the main man himself at the merch stall, obviously we had to say hello and join the queue for a picture!

Not long after we had probably blinded the poor guy with the flash from my iPhone, we made our way to the bar for a couple of drinks before the set. Now, me and my friend Nick had both seen Tkb on various occasions, but our friends Rach and Jazz hadn’t. »

Moneyball gone Terribly Wrong

24 April 2017 9:54 AM, PDT

Money in the world of football has become a big talking point within the game. Be it transfer fees, ticket prices, imaging and TV rights, or even the odd FIFA related bribing scandal, the financial element of the game will now always be questioned. With figures nearly exceeding £100,000,000 for a single player it’s beginning to feel that clubs can demand stupid money for any player within their squad. You only have to look at players like Dwight Gayle, Jake Livermore, and Robert Snodgrass who are being bought for £10 million plus. I mean, Crystal Palace bought Jeffery Schlupp for £12 million! Am I missing something here? It’s like money doesn’t have any value within the game anymore.

Of course, there are some transfers that warrant clubs splashing out large amounts of money to get their man. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez, and Neymar to name a few. »

League of Legends EU Lcs Spring Split: Roundup

24 April 2017 8:05 AM, PDT

The weekend just gone saw the final two matches of the 2017 EU Lcs Spring Split in Hamburg’s packed out Barclaycard Arena. Saturday saw the third/fourth place final between Fnatic and Misfits, and Sunday the first place final between G2 and the Unicorns of Love. This capped off a week that saw two new champions spawned onto the rift and news of changes that are to be made in the mid-season. To cap it all off, two new records were also set in the EU Lcs.

This month we have seen both the play-offs and promotions/demotions played out with some fascinating games. The road to the final for G2 and UoL was fairly straightforward with G2 posting a 3-1 semi-final series win against Fnatic (who perhaps surprisingly beat H2K 3-0 in their quarter) despite going 1-0 down, and the UoL beating Misfits (who beat Splyce 3-2 in »
