Blue Bloods Review: Understanding Faith

26 October 2013 5:02 AM, PDT

"Lost and Found" took a few turns I didn't expect and left me remembering how different Blue Bloods is from anything else on TV.

When Frank found out that police chaplain Father Markham had been let go on four possible Dwi charges, I had no doubt how the Police Commissioner was going to handle it. Yet Frank still did the decent thing and let the man turn himself in instead of sending someone to arrest him.

What I didn't see coming was why the priest had fallen off the wagon or how personally it would affect Frank.

The stories about the police officers sifting through the rubble looking for bodies after 9/11 and that picture in Frank's office of the towers burning before they fell still put my stomach in a knot after all these years later. I can't imagine the affect the memories must have for the people who worked the front line. »

Haven Review: Too Many Secrets

26 October 2013 12:24 AM, PDT

The Troubles continue to wreak havoc in Haven and since Audrey's return the situation seems to be getting worse.

People expected the Troubles to go away on the regular cycle and when they didn't it compounded the issue. Are they actually worse? Or, is it just an illusion? They've always been bad, but now the tension has heightened because no one knows what to expect or how to stop them for sure. All the secrets that the main players are keeping aren't helping at all.

Jordan created a monster in Wade. As in control of his Trouble as Duke is, Wade was the opposite. He turned into a killing machine, who believed he was helping the Troubled and the town just like his father did. He was obsessed with the power and sense of control. He had been lacking that in his life before his Trouble manifested and it fulfilled a craving for purpose. »

Grimm Review: Zombieland

25 October 2013 8:26 PM, PDT

In what’s become typical Grimm season premiere fashion,"The Ungrateful Dead" left most everything up in the air with an ending card:

Card: This ain't over yet. | permalink

With Nick playing dead in a coffin for most of the premiere, we were stuck with the rest of the pack working to find him. It was great to see Hank, Monroe, Rosalee and Juliette together.

It’s taken a while to get everyone to their own unique role, and here everyone did so: Monroe is the best friend; Hank is the loyal and deeply dependable partner; and Rosalee brings sympathy and intelligence.

Juliette, surprisingly, was a welcome sight as well. Her and Rosalee make a good team, and without Nick to guide her she’s really on her own in this new world. It’s forcing her to grow up quickly, as Juliette tends to be a better character when »

The Carrie Diaries Review: Escape to New York

25 October 2013 8:00 PM, PDT

It's a summer love-fest with Manhattan in the The Carrie Diaries season 2 premiere!

In "Win Some, Lose Some" we join up with Carrie and Walt who are still living in Larissa's luxurious apartment. So are they missing life in Castlebury? Not so much!

After The Carrie Diaries season 1 finale - when Walt's ex girlfriend Maggie imploded, outed Walt, and hooked up with Carrie's on/off boyfriend - Carrie and Walt needed a major escape. With Carrie's hot job at the magazine providing access to the hottest clubs and guys, the two have a perfect distraction from their life in suburbia.

Walt still isn't 18, so Bennet is holding back. As for his reputation back home, Donna has assured him that she is spreading rumors of their hot lovin' until he's ready to open up about his sexuality. As Carrie confirms, everything Donna says in Castlebury is gospel. It's interesting that the »

Alexis Castle: Love Her or Hate Her?

25 October 2013 2:30 PM, PDT

Alexis Castle first graced our screens as one of the most mature, responsible children seen on TV in years.

So it's a little surprising to hear fans using words like selfish, irresponsible and foolish when speaking about Rick Castle's teenage daughter.

Below, we look at both sides of the Alexis Castle debate. After six seasons, it's time to decide if Alexis has become a barely tolerable spoiled brat... or simply a typical young lady going through some growing pains. Weigh in now!

-------------------------------------------

Who's Had Enough of Alexis Castle?

Oh, how things have changed.

Over the years Alexis Castle has been given everything by her overly generous and incredibly loving father... and yet more and more we watch her push the limits. This season her behavior may have pushed us to ours.

Who is this girl who wanders home from her jungle adventure (one which Daddy paid for) with a freeloading boyfriend in tow? »

The Vampire Diaries Sneak Peek: You're Allowed to Be Happy!

25 October 2013 2:03 PM, PDT

Next week on The Vampire Diaries, Damon and Elena attend the Whitmore Historical Ball dressed as Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. Only one of them seems to be in a festive mood, however.

Still reeling from the events of last night's episode (follow the link for our Vampire Diaries review), Elena can't get past what happened to Bonnie or the fact that she didn't find out sooner.

Damon encourages her to let it go and have fun, but that's not happening. If anything, she's determined not to let history repeat itself. Check out the scene from "Monster's Ball" below ...

The Vampire Diaries "Monster's Ball" Sneak Peek

According to the official synopsis, Elena is touched by a sad, secretive student named Aaron (Shaun Sipos), and she also shares a dance with Dr. Maxfield, who has a disturbing message.

Sounds like a lot of interesting dancing and more to come on this Halloween installment, »

Supernatural Round Table: "I'm No Angel"

25 October 2013 1:26 PM, PDT

Supernatural focused on Castiel this week. A scruffy, tired, hungry human Castiel without any of his superpowers.

What was the best scene in "I'm No Angel?" What was it like to see Castiel in this kind of state? What about the reapers for hire? The Round Table team of Carissa Pavlica, Sean McKenna and Alice (from Winchester Family Business) are back with their analysis of the latest Season 9 episode.

Jump in and join the debate!

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene from the episode?

Carissa: Watching Castiel have sex as a human. Yes, because he's hot. I just wish he had been having it with a real woman rather than a snake.

Alice: Surprisingly, it was the scene with Castiel and the woman with the sick husband in the church. It’s so fascinating, isn’t it, that a former angel gets a unwavering lesson about faith from a human woman with a sick husband. »

Matt Czuchry Teases a Guilt-Free Cary, Major Good Wife Episode to Come

25 October 2013 1:00 PM, PDT

It's no understatement to say that Sunday's episode of The Good Wife may be the best hour of television you'll see this fall.

With the truth about Alicia and Cary's plans finally leaking out to Will, David Lee and company, the installment is titled "Hitting the Fan" for a very good reason.

While many shows in their fifth year are starting to losing steam, this episode - written by creators Robert and Michelle King - proves that The Good Wife is the exception to that rule: the drama remains one of sharpest, smartest and entertaining programs on television.

After viewing the incredible episode (Twice... it really is that good), I jumped on the phone with Matt Czuchry to talk about his own reaction to the upcoming development, why Cary isn’t fighting the same guilt as Alicia for leaving Lockhart/Gardner and how things will go for the fledgling firm moving forward. »

25 October 2013 11:00 AM, PDT

Scandal. It just keeps getting better, doesn't it?

This week's "Say Hello to My Little Friend" found the ABC series drawing inspiration from the Anthony Weiner mess and focusing on scandalous senator… who did a lot more than just send a few lewd texts.

It also featured Olivia actually being off her game for a change, along with Huck teaming up with Jake to take down Command and more questions popping up around Operation Remington.

Will we get the answers on next Thursday's "More Cattle, Less Bull," Scandal Season 3 Episode 5?
