Woohoo! 'Simpsons' fans rejoice! Universal Studios is building Springfield

Omg! Omg! Omg!

This could be the greatest news for Simpsons obsessives since those 7-Elevens were converted into Kwik-e-Marts to celebrate the release of the Simpsons movie.

Springfield, home of the three-eyed fish and hometown of Jebediah Springfield, is becoming a reality at Universal Studios’ Orlando amusement park.

While rumors have been floating for a while, Universal Studios officially announced today that they are expanding the area around the Simpsons Ride in Orlando to include an entire area that mimics the streets of Springfield. “And yes – there will be Duff Beer,” a release said.

Some of the attractions will include a Krusty Burger, »

Pop Culture Pet Peeve: Chain your door if you're in danger!

While we’re busy celebrating the best (and worst) in TV season finales, let’s also take a moment to air random grievances. One of my biggest pop culture pet peeves was poked by Law & Order: Svu’s season ender last night: People who know they could be in danger and do not use the chain on their door. Yes, the chain probably won’t do much, but isn’t it just human nature to use it if it’s there? Especially if, say, the sadistic serial rapist you were trying to put away — the one who likes to torture »

Lucille Bluth vs. the Disney Princesses

So I went a little nuts with Vine!

Mere days before Netflix’s May 26 Arrested Development binge, boozy-witchy Bluth matriarch Lucille has generously taken time out of her day-drinking to snap some sense into the damsels of Disney. They could all stand to lose some weight, by the way. You want your belt to buckle, not your chair. (Click the microphones on and off to hear the audio.)

Robert Kirkman talks about his crime comic 'Thief of Thieves.' Plus: check out the first four pages of the new issue -- Exclusive

Walking Dead comic writer Robert Kirkman may be King of the Zombies (or at least crown prince to George A. Romero’s Z-monarch) but he also toils on a number of undead-free titles, including the superhero-filled Invincible, the kiddie-aimed Super Dinosaur, and Thief of Thieves. The latter details the adventures of a light-fingered master criminal named Conrad Paulson and is produced by Kirkman in collaboration with other writers, including Andy Diggle (The Losers) whose first issue hits stores May 29.

Below, Kirkman — who is also an executive producer on the Walking Dead TV show — talks about Thief of Thieves. Then, click on, »

Cars and the women who love them: Random hot girls in the 'Fast & Furious' films

The Fast & Furious sextet features many kickass babes — including Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Gal Gadot, Eva Mendes, Gina Carano, and Mrs. Chris Hemsworth. But it also has a lot of women who just love hanging around cars — in the least amount of clothing possible. Here are our favorites from the first five films — and what we believe they are thinking.

“That girl must also shop at the ‘Britney Spears circa ’98′ outlet.”

“We don’t have thoughts, we’re just a pair of bare midriffs.”

“When was the last time my roots were touched up?”

Morgan Freeman knows the meaning of a power nap -- Video

Is cinema legend Morgan Freeman falling asleep during this on-air interview while his Now You See Me costar Michael Caine answers a question? We know Morgan Freeman is very intelligent and contemplative, so he could just be closing his eyes to think. Except he kind of does that thing where you catch yourself after nodding off.

Watch the clip below and decide if he’s a power nap master or just a really serious thinker:

Now You See Me opens May 31.

'Arrested Development': Five favorite 'sweet' Bluth family moments

Family love Michael and we all love the Bluths. In the lead-up to the fourth season premiere of Arrested Development on Netflix this Sunday, I thought back on the sweetest, most tender moments from the show’s whole crew. Of course, since this is Arrested – even their most heartwarming scenes have some kind of twisted take.

Check out a few moments that had viewers cringing and “aww-ing” all at once below (like George Michael and Maeby’s entire relationship!), and then add your own picks in the comments.

'Fast & Furious 6' star Michelle Rodriguez wishes there were better female superheroes

Hollywood has a go-to tough girl, and her name is Michelle Rodriguez. Ever since her breakout role in Girlfight, the 2000 indie where she played a troubled teen who finds her identity through boxing, Rodriguez has dominated the market on roles that call for a tough, no-nonsense beauty who can throw a punch without breaking her withering glare. Not only is she the alpha-female in the Fast and the Furious franchise, but she piloted a space chopper in Avatar, played a vengeful ex-cop on Lost, and scrapped with aliens in Battle: Los Angeles.

Helen Mirren plays Queen to fulfill dying boy's wish

Dame Helen Mirren is just as classy as you think.

Oliver Burton, who was born with Down’s syndrome and had recently been diagnosed with cancer, had a dying wish to meet Queen Elizabeth II. When that wasn’t possible, Mirren stepped in.

The actress, who is currently playing the Queen in a West End performance of The Audience, invited Burton and his family to see the show and then the 10-year-old was brought backstage to meet a still-in-character Mirren. The two drank tea together while Oliver played with the corgis featured in the show, according to the Daily Mail. »

Oops! A Psy lookalike hung out with a bunch of real celebrities at Cannes

Korean pop sensation Psy has been making the rounds at various events during the Cannes Film Festival. Except…that wasn’t Psy. “Seems like there’s another Me at cannes … say Hi to him,” the real Psy tweeted yesterday.

Those who didn’t realize their mistake include actress/Bond girl Naomie Harris, Portland Trail Blazers player Nicolas Batum, and Adrien Brody. Even the photo service FilmMagic was initially fooled, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Psy, meanwhile, seems to be keeping tabs on his clone, tweeting a photo of someone else’s photo with the impostor.

The festival hasn’t issued a statement on the mix-up. »

Waterworks alert: Today's Google Doodle is a teenage contest winner

Today’s Google Doodle isn’t for those prone to tearing up at those dang Google+ commercials. Recently, Google ran a contest inviting students of all ages to create their own Doodle around the theme, “My Best Day Ever….” The winner would get their design on Google’s homepage, as well as a $30,000 college scholarship, in addition to other prizes.

Twelfth-grader Sabrina Brady beat out 130,000 other candidates with her winning drawing depicting her reunion with her father coming home after an 18-month deployment in Iraq. In addition to her Google fame, Brady and other finalists’ work will appear in a »

'Fast Five' honest trailer: A look back at what makes the franchise both glorious and ridiculous -- Video

Gearing up for tomorrow’s release of Fast & Furious 6 — Dom & Letty reunite! — we’ve got just the thing to get you in the mood for more high-speed, over-the-top-in-all-the-right-ways fun. Screen Junkies has released an honest trailer for Fast Five, that takes you through everything you need to know about “the blockbuster franchise that nobody loves but everybody likes enough that they won’t change the channel when it’s on cable.”

This “heist film on wheels” features your “passable action hero,” The Rock covered in baby oil, gear shifting, mumble growls, and all the heist-movie stereotypes that Ocean’s Eleven apparently created. »

The Benedict Cumberbatch shower scene you Didn't see in 'Star Trek Into Darkness' -- Video

If you’re a Cumberbitch, I won’t mince words: Go below the jump, my friends.

If you had to look up the (made-up) word “Cumberbitch,” I’ll provide some context: Star Trek Into Darkness maestros J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof have been taking some heat for a scene in their new movie, which features a gratuitous shot of star Alice Eve in her underwear. (Gratuitous female nudity in an action movie? Well, I never!)

But as Abrams pointed out on Conan last night, the scene in question came after an earlier shot of gratuitous Chris Pine shirtlessness — meaning that if anything, »

'Twilight' dominates Teen Choice Awards nominations

The sun has set (or risen?) on Summit Entertainment’s venerable vampire series — but even though it, like Robsten, is officially kaput, Twilight still holds a hypnotic power over people of a certain age. (That age is “young.”)

The last installment of the blood-sucking saga dominates the “first wave” of nominees at this year’s Teen Choice Awards, which single out the movies, TV series, music, fashion, comedians, athletes, and performers that resonate most with today’s 13- through 19-year-olds. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 snagged seven nods, nine if you include star Taylor Lautner’s individual nominations for »

Paul McCartney speaks out for Pussy Riot in letter to Russian judge

Beatles frontman Paul McCartney has asked a Russian judge to release members of the Pussy Riot punk group from prison.

In letters dated Monday and posted online by the group’s supporters, McCartney asks for parole to be granted to Maria Alekhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, currently serving two-year sentences for an impromptu protest in Moscow’s main cathedral.

McCartney wrote that he was making the request “in a spirit of friendship for my many Russian acquaintances who, like me, believe in treating people – all people, with compassion and kindness.”

Alekhina went on hunger strike Wednesday in protest at not being »

'Saturday Night Live' best host poll: And the winner is...

This is how it generally works: Jay Pharoah or Jason Sudeikis screams “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” The house band kicks in, the immortal Don Pardo announces the cast. And then, the stage door opens, and a smiling celebrity walks out towards the camera. You try and gauge her body language because what you really want to know is: Is this going to be funny? It’s late on Saturday night and you just need to know whether you’re going to watch this from start to finish right now… or whether you should go to bed »

'Nashville' season finale: Every kind of cliffhanger

22 May 2013 10:02 PM, PDT

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched Nashville’s season 1 finale, stop reading now. We’re going to break down the cliffhangers, of which there are many.

• Rayna and Deacon were in a serious car accident. Predictably on a scale of 1 to 10: 9.5. I deducted .5 only because I originally thought Deacon — who fell off the wagon (and rolled off a cliff) after hearing Maddie’s theory that he was her father confirmed by Rayna — would be behind the wheel. Instead, Rayna succeeded in convincing him to let her drive them away from the intimate Bluebird memorial for Juliette’s mother, »
