Templates II: Technology

Welcome back to SCOREcast’s Orchestral Template series! This time, we will delve a bit into the technical background of creating a template. There are some ways in which a template can be set up, each of them more suited to a particular workflow and situation. But don’t worry – it won’t get too technical

In a nutshell, there are two general ways of hosting a template:

1) Inside the sequencer

2) Outside the sequencer (go figure!)

Hosting your template inside your sequencer mainly has the advantage of being easy to set up by not requiring any additional software or even hardware. Such a template works much the same way as a regular project you are working on. You load the sequencer file and are good to go. The settings of the template (the instruments loaded into it as well as for example Cc values) are unique to this project and »
