“When you do films like this it reminds you of why you wanted to become an actor” – Shahid Kapoor on Haider
2 hours ago
Shakespeare’s Hamlet has a complex protagonist, revenge, murder and deceit. It is no wonder that the play has witnessed a number of adaptations and is revered as one of Shakespeare’s greatest works. In terms of film, there have been several adaptations. However, Laurence Oliviers black and white adaptation produced in 1948 steals the show and remains as the only Shakespeare film to have won best picture and best actor at the Oscars.
Now the time has come for Bollywood to explore Hamlet through Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider, set for release on the 2nd of October 2014. The tragic prince is played by Shahid Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most versatile actor’s. Shahid Kapoor received critical acclaim for his performance in Kaminey, also directed by Bhardwaj. Anticipation is running high not just for the Shakespearian Bollywood adaptation but for the director-actor duo to once again work their magic.

Parineeti Chopra says Daawat-e-Ishq is a celebration of Love and Food
4 hours ago
Gastronomic love stories are a rarity in Bollywood and Daawat-e-Ishq is one of those rare films on the subject, with the film’s lead actress, Parineeti Chopra, describing it as a full on celebration of food and love. Praising the plot, she says, “Though food plays an important part in Daawat-e-Ishq, it is at the end of the day a love story. Daawat-e-Ishq is a celebration of love and food, love for food, love over food.”
Explaining why we don’t tend to see many Indian films on the subject of food she adds, “It all happens in good time. We can’t have films about food just for the heck of it. There has to be a proper story to tell because it stretches to a two-and-a-half-hour of playing time. Though food plays an important part in Daawat-e-Ishq, it is at the end of the day a love story. »

Box Office: Finding Fanny shows good trend, Creature is low
6 hours ago
It was always a given that Finding Fanny would find its audience at the multiplexes while Creature would do better at the smaller centers. Still, one didn’t expect a huge gap between the two films over the weekend at least. However, at the box office it turned out to beFinding Fanny all the way as it went on to do double the business of Creature. Though the two films were not really competing with each other to begin with, eventually the collections spoke the loudest and in that perspective, it is ‘Finding Fanny’ which is set for a much more stable week ahead. As was expected, Finding Fanny saw good reviews coming from all quarters and considering the fact that it was parallel cinema despite stars like Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor, that was needed as well to boost the film’s fortunes. That happened too with decent collections on the opening day. »
