Daawat-e-Ishq Food Yatra – Day 4

17 September 2014 1:04 AM, PDT

The Daawat-e-Ishq Food Yatra arrived in the capital yesterday!

Agra aake petha nahi khaya… Toh kya khaya? And Aditya and Parineeti were only too happy to start the day with sweet indulgence – Agra’s famous Panchi Petha!

It was then time to hit the Yamuna Expressway! Taru took to the wheel and cruised along the highway with his co-passenger Gullu, only stopping for a meal of simple Rajma-Chawal before they made their way to ‘dil wallon ki Delhi’!

And much love was showered upon the Daawat-e-Ishq pair by the students of Delhi. The girls of Miranda House welcomed Aditya by professing their “aashiqui” while Parineeti cheered them on!

Next stop was South Delhi’s popular Rajinder da Dhaba – every Delhi foodie’s delight, where piping hot chicken tikka, dahi ke kabab, with repeat orders from Parineeti, awaited the duo as they ended their day in the capital with a lip »

Fawad Khan: “Khoobsurat is unique in many ways, but carries on the legacy and tradition of Disney.”

16 September 2014 11:09 PM, PDT

Disney Utv is bringing a Bollywood fairytale story to life again! A reimagining of the 1980 film starring Rekha, this version of Khoobsurat stars Sonam Kapoor. The film directed by Shashanka Ghosh releasing September 19th is a quirky, modern romantic comedy. Of course, a Disney film has to have a handsome prince and that is played by Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

We were able to catch Fawad Khan for a very quick but wonderful chat. Though we only had the chance to talk for a short time, the actor really took the time to give amazing answers. See what he had to say in this exclusive interview!

Did you always want to be an actor?

Wow! I think that everyone in some corner of their heart and at some point in time in their youth and during their childhood has fantasized that oh I wish I could be that character on screen. »

Vishal Bhardwaj’s films Maqbool, Omkara and Haider being made into Books

16 September 2014 9:54 PM, PDT

Vishal Bhardwaj’s attraction for Shakespeare is undeniable and we all know how he has adapted three of his plays into films.

Maqbool was an adaptation of Macbeth, Omkara of Othello and Shakespeare’s toughest play, Hamlet, is being adapted into Haider.

Ever since filmmakers of the world are working towards period cinema, good books and bestsellers have been the favourite source for film scripts.

However with Vishal the turnaround is doubly commendable because, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s three film scripts adapted from Shakespeare are going to be published as books themselves.

The prestigious Harper Collins Publishers will publish the script of the trilogy of Maqbool, Omkara and Haider

If Shakespeare had to be alive today, we are sure he would have been proud of his extremely talented admirer and follower, Vishal Bhardwaj

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7: Semi finals! Plus Ganesh Hedge, Deepika Padukone & Arjun Kapoor

16 September 2014 6:06 AM, PDT

Saturday’s show opened with hosts Ranvir and Manish reminding the audience that there are just 7 days left for the grand finale of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa! It was then time to determine this weeks face-off. Mouni was one of the face-off contestants but as she has the Shakti Immunity ball, she used it to be safe. This meant that the face-off would be between Shakti and Akshat! Two of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’s strongest contestants.

The judges were very excited that Jhalak had reached the semi final stage. Host Manish reminded the audience that as Shakti did not perform last week due to ill health, she had received zero scores and so her outcome would also depend on the number of votes she received from her fans.

Then there was a special performance from choreographer Ganesh Hedge who was the special guest for the episode and had also choreographed the contestants acts this week. »
