First Ever Shiamak Spring Funk a Grand Success in Midlands!

Over 300 students from the Shiamak Davar Dance Academy took to the stage at De Montfort Hall on Saturday, March 21 for their first ever Spring Funk Show in the Midlands.

Dance enthusiasts from ages four to eighty four brought the theme, World Dance Beats come alive on stage performing style including Contemporary, Hip – Hop, Salsa and the most popular Bollywood Jazz. The world’s biggest Bollywood dance academy had the audiences on their feet throughout the two hour student showcase.

Students form Leicester. Coventry and Birmingham learnt their favourite dance styles through the workshop taking by Shiamak Davar’s senior instructor Anupam Hinge. “I have taught classes across India and UAE, and was extremely pleased by the energy and enthusiasm shown by the students here. Shiamak has given me the opportunity to spread the joy of dance here in the Midlands, and I’m looking forward to this experience!” said Anupam. »

The Cover reveal of ‘Scion of Ikshvaku’, the first book of the Ram Chandra Series from literary popstar Amish took place in Mumbai today. Bollywood Superstar, Akshay Kumar, unveiled the intriguing cover design during a press conference.

Unfreedom – Trailer and Poster Premiere

The controversial new film Unfreedom has unveiled its first theatrical trailer. Banned in India and featuring an ensemble cast including Victor Banerjee, the provocative film will be released uncut in U.S. theaters on May 29.

Unfreedom juxtaposes two powerful and unflinching contemporary stories about religious fundamentalism and intolerance.  Shifting between New York and New Delhi, one tale follows a Muslim terrorist who kidnaps a liberal Muslim scholar in order to silence him, while the other charts the travails of a young woman whose devout father tries to force her into an arranged marriage, which she resists because she is secretly in love with another woman. Hansal Mehta in Talks with Kangana Ranaut to Star in Sarabjit Singh’s Biopic

Manish Dayal To Star In New York-set boxing film ‘Uppercut’

Manish Dayal (“The Hundred-Foot Journey”) is attached to star in the New York-set boxing story, “Uppercut,” penned by Black List writer Neeraj Katyal (“The Amazing Adventures of the Monogamous Duck”).

In the wake of “Hundred-Foot” finding success at the global box-office, Dayal expressed his passion for “the sweet science” to New York-based producer Atit Shah (“A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island”). Longtime friends, Dayal and Shah, subsequently began putting the project together via Shah’s Create Entertainment banner.

Dayal will play Shiva Singhavi, a young boxer raised in the blue-collar, Queens neighborhood of Jackson Heights. Yesudas records Hindi song after 20 years!

Jeet Gannguli made Mahesh Bhatt sing for the first time

The stunning star has become the seventh Bollywood actor to be honoured with a figure at Madame Tussauds London – her inclusion has a special significance as she was voted for by fans*, just as Amitabh Bachcahn was in 2000.

Nikhil Advani’s ‘Airlift’ Impressed Akshay Kumar Immediately

Shashi Kapoor receives the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contributions towards Indian Cinema. The 77 year old actor, which is famed for his blockbuster hits like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewaar and Kabhi Kabhie, is the 46th winner of this honour, which has gone to people of exemplary talent.

Shashi Kapoor made his debut in Dharmputra, before becoming a Bollywood icon in the 1960s and 70s. He is also known for being one of the first Bollywood actors to star in international films; including famous Merchant-Ivory films like Shakespeare Wallah, Bombay Talke and Heat and Dust.
