Policegiri is an upcoming Bollywood action comedy, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Prachi Desai in the leading roles. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the film is based on a police officer who decides to end crime and corruption that is affecting his city by tackling the local mafia. Policegiri is scheduled for release on 5 July 2013 so check it out if you have some time on your hands. The music to this film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Anjjan – Meet Bros. Surely at least most of you know Himesh, who has given us soundtracks such as Son of Sardaar (2012) and Khiladi 786 (2012). Anjjan –Meet Bros have worked previously with Himesh for the album Omg: Oh My God (2012). Nawazuddin Siddiqui talks ‘shorts’ and Indian Cinema

Nawazuddin Siddiqui teamed up with Rohit Pandey for the five film ensemble Shorts with directors Shlok Sharma, Siddharth Gupta, Anirban Roy and Neeraj Ghaywan along with Rohit Pandey. He said he is glad to be a part of this venture as working with young directors includes inputs from both ends.
“When you are working with a young and fresh director, you can give in your inputs and combine them with his ideas. So I can tell him what I think I need to add, and then have a totally different character as the final product,” he added.
Nawazuddin is known to completely delve into his character in a way that it sometimes becomes difficult to recognize him in his different roles. His latest performance in Dibakar Banerjee’s short film in Bombay Talkies received a lot of praise. He says he feels good that he is a part of that »

Lootera comes closer to audiences through WeChat

Balaji Motion Pictures and WeChat have partnered to promote the former’s keenly awaited Ranveer Sigh – Sonakshi Sinha starrer Lootera. WeChat is a leading global mobile social communication application available in over 200 countries.
For the users, WeChat has also introduced a unique way to get closer to the stars of Lootera through the launch of the WeChat Official Lootera account. Users can now get the latest anecdotes on the movie from the closed sets by following the official account of Lootera, “LooteraTheFilm” on WeChat.

Ghanchakkar survives average reviews, finds multiplex audience

Last week’s prediction of Ghanchakkar came true on two counts. First and foremost, it opened much better in multiplexes when compared to single screens. Secondly, the average footfalls for this widely released film were in 40%-50% range. However, it was also predicted that the film would see some good rise in collections over the weekend. Well, as it happened, this didn’t quite turn out to be the case as the film managed to stay on just about stable and couldn’t really see much escalation. As a result, the weekend collections were around 22 crores which, if not excellent, are decent for sure.
In fact if one looks at the kind of average to above average reviews that the film managed to get at large, and had a similar response from audience as well, this Rajkumar Gupta directed film still managed to have its head above water for a major part of the weekend. »

We first saw their sizzling chemistry in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, but that was just a glimpse now fans get ready because Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are all set to recreate the same magic in their next film titled Bang Bang. The film, an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit Knight And Day, has Hrithik and Katrina playing the cool character that were first played by Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Vidya signs Mohit Suri’s Next

Vidya Balan is all over with her Ghanchakkar release and is filming Shaadi ke Side Effects. Post the filming, the actress will apparently start shooting for Vishesh Films’ next untitled project directed by Mohit Suri.
Mohit is currently directing Villain with Siddharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, post his Aashiqui 2 success. The project for which Vidya has come on board is said to be a love story.
A source told the Times of India that this film is an emotional love story and Vidya has been finalized for it. “When she read the script, Vidya really liked it and immediately agreed to sign it. The production house is working on the other details of the film and it may start by the end of this year,” added the source.

Satyagraha not based on Anna Hazare, says Prakash Jha

Prakash Jha has denied that his upcoming film Satyagraha is based on social activist Anna Hazare. Following the release of the film’s trailer, many presumed that Amitabh Bachchan’s character is based on the popular anti-corruption campaigner. “I have not commented on this before. The film is not based on Anna Hazare and has nothing to do with the movement, said Prakash to the media. The entire process of satyagraha comes from Gandhiji. Mr Bachchan plays the role of a satyagrahi who believes in truth.”
Prakash also spoke of how fortunate he is to have been able to work again with Amitabh Bachchan, with whom he worked with in his last film Aarakshan (2011). “It is very fortunate for us that someone from our generation gets to work with Mr Bachchan.”
Given that Prakash Jha’s films revolve around controversial subjects, this has led to a number of protests in India. »

Imtiaz Ali’s directorial venture, Highway is at the post-production stage and is certainly one of the most anticipated films of the year. Apart from Highway, Sajid is also producing 2 states - with Karan Johar and Heropanti directed by Sabbir Khan. Sajid Nadiadwala will also be making his directorial debut with Salman Khan starrer, Kick which is expected to go on floors soon.
