Christian Bale Shoots Down 'Justice League' Talk

The growly voice we need, if not the one we deserve, isn't coming back.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Christian Bale has confirmed that his days suiting up in Batman's cape and cowl are behind him. In other words: there will be no "Justice League" for the Oscar winner.

"I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul," the actor said. "I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it."

Indeed, Bale is very much looking forward to seeing another actor as Batman.

"It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another," he said. "So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.”

Bale added that he and Christopher Nolan were fortunate enough to get to make three movies about the Caped Crusader, and that's more than enough. »

'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Billboard Lords Over Los Angeles

Once upon a time, after everybody's favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agent died in battle during "Marvel's The Avengers," fans across the world spread the message "Coulson Lives" on city streets, and all over the web.

Well, let's just say that the movement worked, and it's gotten a little bit bigger.

Coulson will indeed return in "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and the House of Ideas is pulling out all the stops to promote the show. What once was a simple "Coulson Lives" message spray-painted on a wall just got significantly more powerful — with a full-fledged S.H.I.E.L.D. logo stamped on a Los Angeles billboard.

ComingSoon.net scored the first look at the S.H.I.E.L.D. billboard in Los Angeles — an amazing show of confidence for a show that doesn't even have a season premiere date quite yet. But it's clear that Marvel knows they have a big gun in the arsenal »

'Man Of Steel' Cruises Past $500 Million Worldwide

It's up, up and away for Superman at the box-office.

After three weeks in theaters, "Man of Steel" has soared to a domestic total of $248.6 million, after landing in fifth place this past weekend with $20.8 million added to the pile. The Henry Cavill-starring superhero flick was just $5 million shy of beating "White House Down," Sony's action flick that debuted to a meager $25.7 million.

But that's not all: "Man of Steel" has stirred up $271.7 million in foreign grosses, bringing its worldwide tally to $520.3 million. That's a big result for the comic book icon, and a sure sign that fans want to take a look at the greater DC Cinematic Universe. Bring it on, WB!

'Hellboy 3' Update: 'I Think There's A Chance,' According To Ron Perlman

Ron Perlman isn't giving up on Big Red.

Perlman and director Guillermo del Toro have long held out hope for "Hellboy 3," a means of finishing off their planned trilogy with world-ending consequences. Though there's still no official movement on the project, Perlman gave a very positive update to EmpireOnline.com about where he stands on the threequel.

Here's how Perlman put it, according to Empire:

“Every time I'm with Guillermo, it certainly occupies a small portion of the conversation. And believe me, when we walked away from Hellboy II, both of us had had the snot beaten out of us to the degree that neither of us wanted to ever see Hellboy again.

“Then, about a year went by and I realised we had asked the fans to invest so much in this saga, and the saga really is all about how it resolves, because this force has been »

'Wolverine' Channels 'Ronin' Rage In New Featurette

"The Wolverine" is just weeks away from release, and ahead of its theatrical debut, Fox has rolled out a new featurette that explains what Logan's doing in Japan.

"The beginning of our story takes place in World War II. It's Nagasaki, it's panic — bombs are about to drop everywhere. That's where Logan meets the young Yashida; he saves his life," Hugh Jackman explains in the new featurette. "Some sixty years later, the young Yashida has grown up to be one of the most powerful businessmen in Japan. He sees in Wolverine someone who has the ability to live, but doesn't necessarily want it."

That leads to tampering with Logan's healing factor, making the claw-wielding mutant physically vulnerable for the first time ever.

"This is a character who is so sick of living and his healing power," says producer Lauren Shuler Donner. "Wolverine without his healing power — it's another story."

It's also a Ronin story, »

'Kick-Ass 2' Launches Justice Forever Recruitment Campaign

"Do you have someone you want to avenge? Or maybe just a killer idea for a super-identity? If so, it's time to get off your ass, put on your cowl, and kick people square in the balls."

So says Battle Guy, one of the founding members of Justice Forever — the superhero team at the heart of "Kick-Ass 2."

Ahead of the "Kick-Ass" sequel's release, Universal is launching a new viral campaign centered on Justice Forever, rolling out videos featuring the super-team's premiere members doing their best to recruit fans to the cause.

The videos give some history on some of the new heroes we'll meet in "Kick-Ass 2," including Battle Guy (played by Clark Duke, having undergone a superhero upgrade since the first "Kick-Ass" film), Insect Man (played by Robert Emms) and Doctor Gravity (played by Donald Faison). The ads direct viewers to the same spot: WeAreJusticeForever.com, where Kick-Ass »

'Walking Dead' Teasers Promise The Arrival Of New 'Survivors'

From MTV Geek: Something big is happening in the "Walking Dead" universe.

Over the weekend, Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment released two teaser images called "Survivors" and "Hilltop." What they mean, what they refer to, is anybody's guess. Are these posters for the AMC TV series? Are we about to see two new spinoff titles announced for the "Walking Dead" comic books? Who's to say — but judging by that familiar looking "skull and crossbones" in the "Survivors" image, fans could be in for a world of (even more) hurt.

More info will come out at Image Expo this week. Stay tuned as we learn more.

Head over to MTV Geek for more "Walking Dead" speculation. »

Quicksilver And Scarlet Witch Are 'A Huge Part' Of Joss Whedon's 'Avengers 2'

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch speeding onto the path of Earth's mightiest heroes is no small thing. The super-siblings are "a huge part" of Joss Whedon's planned "Avengers" sequel, according to the filmmaker himself.

That's the word from Whedon in a new interview with CraveOnline.com. The "Avengers" writer and director also spoke about Quicksilver appearing in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," Bryan Singer's return to the "X-Men" films, a completely separate universe than the world established in the Marvel Studios films.

Put bluntly: Whedon is completely ignoring what Singer is doing.

"I'm really excited about it," Whedon said of his use of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, before addressing the silver-haired speedster's appearance in Singer's "X-Men" movie. "I don't know what they're doing and I'm determinably not knowing. They'll do their thing. I have to do mine."

But something tells us we haven't heard the last of new superheroes joining the "Avengers" sequel, »

by Ryan Rigley

By the Vapors of the Vishanti! According to a report made by Comic Book Movie last week, Marvel Studios has big plans for its titular mystic character: Doctor Strange. Although there hasn't been any sort of direct confirmation from the studio thus far, rumors of a movie based around the Sorcerer Supreme have been running rampant all over the Internet as of late.

In fact, there's even a rumor going around that Marvel plans to make Doctor Stephen Strange the new "hub" character for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, much like Tony Stark's role in Phase 1. While this might be terrific news for hardcore Marvel fans, there are still a ton of people out there that have never even heard of Doctor Strange. With that in mind, we've compiled a reading list for those of you who are new to the Sorcerer Supreme.
