Zombieland 2 Is Closer to Happening, Original Cast Will Return

Get ready for your semi-annual update on the status of Zombieland 2. Though, admittedly, this update does sound realistic and encouraging. Plus, it is coming directly from two of the guys most involved in the project. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo behind Deadpool, have revealed that the movie is still in development and that the original cast is still on board to come back for the sequel.

The writers recently spoke with Comicbook.com while promoting their latest movie Life. The pair were asked about the status of Zombieland 2 and whether or not the movie was still in development. According to them, it is and they are actively trying to get the thing going, but there are some hurdles in the way. Here is what they had to say about it.

"It is [in active development]. We're trying to get it going. All of our cast have read the script and love it. »

Watch the Insane First 5 Minutes of Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell is getting ready to hit theaters in a little more than a week, but for those of you who are feeling a little impatient, you can check out the first five minutes of the movie online right now. Paramount decided to give fans a little taste of what's to come by releasing the clip online today, and it is very heavy on the action. Despite the controversy surrounding her casting, it also seems like Scarlett Johansson is kicking some serious butt as Major and looking good doing it.

Paramount initially debuted the clip during a Facebook Live streaming event but they later released a slightly extended version of the clip to their YouTube channel. In the video, we see Major hanging out on a rooftop listening in on an important meeting that has to do with "cyber enhancement." Things quickly get out of hand and the bullets start flying. »

Spider-Man Spin-Off Silver Sable and Black Cat Is Happening

Last week, Sony Pictures handed out a 2018 release date for their new Venom spin-off that will expand the studio's Spider-Man universe, although it will not be connected to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Today we have word that the studio is expanding this universe even further, developing a new spin-off that will feature the popular female characters Silver Sable and the Black Cat. The studio has brought on screenwriter Christopher Yost to write the script, building on a previous script that was originally worked on by Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy.

The Hollywood Reporter doesn't reveal any specific story details, but it does indicate that the studio wants to find a director soon, eyeing a fall production start date. Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing the project, which was previously known as the "secret female spinoff project." While Sony Pictures has a shared rights deal with Marvel Studios for the main Spider-Man character, »

Stallone Teases a Robot Brawl in Escape Plan 2 Set Video

Back in October, Emmet/Furla/Oasis revealed that it had greenlit the sequel Escape Plan 2, with original Escape Plan star Sylvester Stallone returning to star, although there is no word yet whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back as well. Shooting got under way in Atlanta, Georgia this week, and earlier today, Sylvester Stallone sent out the first video from the set, revealing his bloodied face, along with his co-star Dave Bautista and new cast member Jesse Metcalfe. What's perhaps the most intriguing part of this video, though, is a mysterious robot, that Sylvester Stallone would only say figures into the ending of the movie.

Sylvester Stallone shared this video on Instagram just a few hours ago, where he tried to see if he's taller than co-star Dave Bautista or not. This video also gave us our first look at Jesse Metcalfe, who just recently joined the cast of this action sequel. »

Deadpool 2 Now Eyeing Michael Shannon and Brad Pitt as Cable

The saga of who is going to play Cable in Deadpool 2 just got a whole lot more interesting. There have been a ton of names thrown around for months, but now we have a couple of new, huge actors thrown into the mix. And they are game changers. It looks like none other than superstar Brad Pitt is now at least being considered to some degree for the role of Cable while Nocturnal Animals and Man of Steel star Michael Shannon is the reported frontrunner.

First, The Tracking Board's Jeff Sneider recently, very casually threw Brad Pitt's name out in an otherwise completely unrelated Tweet. There isn't a lot of context provided and it seems like Jeff Sneider could just be throwing out a random "what if" scenario that isn't founded in anything overly concrete. Here is what he had to say in his tweet.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Gets an Amazing IMAX Poster

Director James Gunn gave fans a huge surprise today, debuting the new IMAX poster for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on his social media channels. Much like the first superhero adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will debut in IMAX theaters this summer. The filmmaker revealed on Facebook that there was a lot of thought and planning that went into this sequel's IMAX presentation. Here's what the filmmaker had to say while debuting this amazing new one-sheet.

"Those who have followed me awhile know that IMAX is the optimal way to view a Guardians movie. I personally oversee the 3D, crafting every shot, and only in IMAX do we shift aspect ratios during big scenes so that you get nearly 30% more screen size than anywhere else. Unlike many other films today where screen size shifts and 3D are afterthoughts, we plan our aspect ratios during the script stage, and every »

Wonder Woman Gets Rated PG-13 for Violence and Suggestive Content

Wonder Woman is still a few months away from hitting theaters, but we now know that the movie is in the can and ready to go. Warner Bros. has screened the movie for the MPAA and they have officially rated Diana Prince's first theatrical outing PG-13. That rating isn't all too surprising or exciting, at least on its own. But now that it has been rated, we know that the Wonder Woman movie is completely done and just waiting for the world to see it.

The Motion Picture Association of America's Classification and Rating Administration has officially rated Wonder Woman PG-13 for pretty unsurprising reasons. The movie was given its rating for "sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive content." That pretty much falls in line with why most comic book movies wind up with a PG-13 rating. It also shouldn't be surprising since all of the theatrically »

Baywatch Trailer #2 Has Zac Efron and The Rock Going Deep Undercover

Get ready for a whole lot of good-looking people doing raunchy stuff at the beach because a brand new trailer for Baywatch has been released. Warning: this trailer is most definitely Nsfw so, if you're going to watch it at your desk, you should probably at the very least put on your headphones first. This new trailer definitely goes big on the raunchy humor and makes it clear that this Baywatch reboot is going to earn its R-rating.

Paramount dropped this most recent Baywatch trailer today, which could very well be the last trailer we see before Baywatch hits theaters this May. In the video, we can see the entire cast really playing up the sex jokes and the ridiculous, at times unnecessary, action. It seems like this new take on the classic 90s series is going to be taking everything that Baywatch did and, in true Spinal Tap fashion, »

DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox have released the first trailer for Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie! Based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series and starring Kevin Hart and Ed Helms, Captain Underpants tells the story of George and Harold, who hypnotize their principal into thinking he's a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.

Ed Helms and Kevin Hart were on hand to introduce this first look teaser, giving the animated comedy adventure a little star powered boost. It's too bad that they can't agree on who or what Captain Underpants truly is. Kevin Hart offers this take on Cu, who may or may not be a superhero.

"Check out this sneak peek of our new movie, Captain Underpants. It's the story of a superhero. I'll take that back...He's barely a superhero. He doesn't have X-ray vision. He can't even climb a tree. Wearing »

Power Rangers Review: Teen Angst with a Superhero Twist

22 March 2017 8:47 AM, PDT

The new Power Rangers movie is aimed like a laser at the fan base. Audiences that grew up with the television show are going to be enthusiastic. I was too old to have the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers be an integral part of my youth, so I judge it as a novice. The film is incredibly hokey in parts. An overabundance of CGI turns some scenes into a chaotic video game. That said; Power Ranges surprisingly captures teen angst in an effective way. There is an edge to the characters that lead to unexpected moments.

The story takes place in the town of Angel Grove, California. Jason (Dacre Montgomery), a former jock turned kind-hearted rebel, lands in detention for his antics. He stands up for Billy (Rj Cyler), a slightly autistic teen that convinces him to go on a secret project. The pair ends up at a mining quarry. While »

Zootopia Lawsuit Claims Disney Ripped-Off Total Recall Writer

21 March 2017 6:23 PM, PDT

One of last year's biggest hits at the box office was Disney's animated blockbuster Zootopia, which crossed the $1 billion worldwide threshold and became the second highest-grossing original movie of all time, albeit a distant second place behind James Cameron's Avatar ($2.7 billion). Today we have word that Zootopia might not be an original movie at all, with a screenwriter named Gary Goldman filing a lawsuit against Disney, claiming the studio stole an original idea he had that he reportedly pitched to the studio twice. Gary Goldman has a number of major writing credits to his name, including the cult classic Big Trouble In Little China and the original Total Recall.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the screenwriter pitched his project, which included a live-action movie component entitled Looney and an animated movie called Zootopia. The writer pitched this franchise two separate times to Disney, in the years 2000 and 2009, with the »
