Audiences Hate Jennifer Lawrence's New Movie Mother!

16 September 2017 1:42 PM, PDT

Moviegoers are having very negative reactions to Jennifer Lawrence's latest movie, Mother!, according to CinemaScore, which currently has the movie at an F rating. The Darren Aronofsky directed movie has been getting trashed by audiences, but praised by critics, leading to a huge divide between audience and critic with the polarized reviews. Could it be that moviegoers are beginning a backlash against Jennifer Lawrence?

Jennifer Lawrence is an acclaimed, Academy Award winning actress who was once the highest paid actress in the world two years ago. The 27-year old actress can pretty much do whatever she wants, but it's beginning to look like her fans do not want to see her in horror movies. 2012's House at the End of the Street was panned by critics and is seen as a commercial failure when compared to Lawrence's other work, which still earned a lot of money and was in »

Which Limb Will Rey Lose in The Last Jedi?

16 September 2017 1:13 PM, PDT

Many fans are very worried that Star Wars 8 will follow in the same footsteps as The Force Awakens, and be a complete rehash, but this time of The Empire Strikes Back instead of A New Hope. Director Rian Johnson has flat out denied that his movie will be similar to the second installment of the original trilogy, but there have been a number of similarities that are already starting to surface ahead of the movie's December premiere. However, author of a new book that predicts the outcomes of Star Wars movies may have just revealed the biggest similarity to The Empire Strikes Back yet by claiming that Rey will lose a limb in The Last Jedi just like Luke Skywalker and Anakin Skywalker before her.

The Daily Mail U.K. recently sat down with author Tomas Pueyo, who wrote The Star Wars Rings: The Hidden Structure Behind the Story. Pueyo »

16 September 2017 12:02 PM, PDT

A new rumor suggests that Matt Reeves' Batman movie could start production as soon as next summer. Warner Bros. has been throwing a lot of new projects around and some have started to get lost in the shuffle, as actors attached to projects seem to be as in the dark as the general public when it comes to what's going on behind the scenes at the studio. One of the projects that seems to be in limbo for Warner Bros. and the Dceu is the often-talked about The Batman project, which has seen a slew of changes over the last year.

According to The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, the production of The Batman could start as early as next summer. This is the first positive news to be revealed about the movie in some time and it comes from a Q&A session from Umberto Gonzalez's Periscope account. Although the news is positive, »

Gremlins 3 Found Footage Pitch Sounds Like a Blast

16 September 2017 11:47 AM, PDT

For years now, we've been hearing word of a possible reboot of the Gremlins franchise, but Warner Bros. just can't seem to crack that particular nut. Or they just don't feel properly motivated to make the movie happen because plenty of filmmakers have pitched their ideas for Gremlins 3. One such filmmaker is Max Landis (Chronicle), (American Ultra) who actually has an awesome idea for a found footage version of Gremlins.

The prolific and outspoken screenwriter appeared last year on the Talkhouse podcast. Per Bloody Disgusting, somehow, Max Landis' pitch went largely unnoticed but it is really worth a look for those who want to see Gremlins 3 happen. The best part? He's actually pitching the idea to Gremlins director Joe Dante. The basic premise is that a kid gets a pair of Mogwai for Christmas one year. One nice and the other not quite as nice. As is usually the case with Mogwai, »

16 September 2017 11:27 AM, PDT

The history of Batman on screen is an interesting one, with many various iterations of the character having appeared in various versions of the franchise. However, perhaps just as compelling as what we have seen in Batman movies is what we never got to see. For example, Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) had a pitch for a Batman: Year One movie at one point. And who did he want to play the Caped Crusader? Joaquin Phoenix.

Much has been made of Darren Aronofsky's Batman: Year One movie that never was over the years, but this is the first we've heard of the director wanting to cast Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role. Aronofsky made the reveal while speaking to Yahoo Movies in order to promote his new movie, Mother! Here's what he had to say about it.

"It's funny, I think we were just sort of »

As reported by The Wrap, New Line Cinema's It started breaking records during Thursday night previews last week and has kept the streak going as the horror flick is headed into its second weekend. The record-breaking commenced when It brought in $13.5 million in Thursday night previews, which bested the previous record held by Deadpool for an R-rated movie. That was just the beginning though, as the records continued to get more impressive as the week rolled on.

15 September 2017 1:45 PM, PDT

With less than a week left before Leatherface will be available for DirecTV subscribers, and a month before the theatrical release, Lionsgate has debuted a new poster, which gives us our first look at the character who will eventually become the sadistic killer known as Leatherface. This one-sheet comes just a month after a particularly gruesome Leatherface trailer, which adds to the mystery of just who Leatherface really is. The poster doesn't reveal any obvious details, but shows the title character walking towards the Sawyer home, with a bloody chainsaw in hand.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this Leatherface prequel surfaced last May, when a new Leatherface photo revealed Jessica Madsen's character, one of the four teenagers who escaped from a mental hospital and kidnapped a nurse. Since one of these characters will ultimately be revealed as the true Leatherface, there is technically a chance that this »
