Weird Al Celebrates Star Wars 40th Anniversary with Rare Yoda Demo

There were many ways to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars yesterday, but none quite as fun as a good old-fashioned "Weird Al" jam. Al shared his 1981 demo for his hit Star Wars parody song "Yoda" from the Dare to be Stupid album released in 1985. The demo first popped up on the Dr. Demento Radio Show in 1981 and it had the instrumentation Al was using at the time, meaning that the song is performed on an accordion and uses hand farts and a suitcase for percussion. The song was written after Al saw The Empire Strikes Back and is told through the eyes of Jedi-in-training, Luke Skywalker.

"Weird Al" released the demo for "Yoda" on his official YouTube account for the 40th anniversary of A New Hope and also to promote his epic box set that contains all of his 14 studio albums and a separate album of rarities. The »

There's No Romance in Last Jedi, But Poe and Finn May Hook-Up Later

The Last Jedi director Riann Johnson revealed this week that there will not be an epic love story in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This may come as a shock to fans expecting an onscreen romance between Finn and Poe, or Rey and Finn, much like Han Solo and Leia's in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Even Attack of the Clones worked as a love story with varying degrees of success. It looks like we might have to wait until Star Wars 9 to see the romance between Chewie and Maz Kanata. Anything is possible...

While speaking to Vanity Fair, Johnson explained that there wouldn't be any major romances that are the equivalent of Solo and Leia's love. Johnson says this.

"[There will be] no one-to-one equivalent of the Han-to-Leia, burning, unrequited love. In our story, that's not a centerpiece."

Ok, we get it. Johnson really is trying »

We see footage of Peter Parker (Tom Holland) getting his new suit, presumably just before the iconic airport battle in Captain America: Civil War. We also see footage of Spidey recording himself in a cell phone video, as he's hiding out of sight before the airport battle takes place. When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) calls out "Underroos," Peter puts down the phone and says he has to go, as we see him leap into action and steal Captain America's shield, from a different vantage point. But perhaps cooler than all that is we get to see Michael Keaton's Vulture step out of the shadows to become one of Parker's greatest foes yet!

There had been rumors that Captain America »

The decision to bring Whedon on was simple. It had already been previously reported that Whedon was involved in the writing and additional reshoots anyway. But now we have official word from Dceu producer Charles Roven. Roven spoke to »

Exactly one week from today, Wonder Woman will finally hit theaters, marking the first time this iconic heroine has had her own live-action theatrical movie. As historic as that is, director Patty Jenkins revealed that her movie accomplished a rather impressive feat, stating in a new interview that hardly anything ended up on the cutting room floor, and that there aren't any actual deleted scenes. Here's what she had to say in a new interview.

"You know, it's not like a long journey didn't happen but what amazes me is how little has actually changed from the first cut other than tightening. Little changes to the final battle, that was really it. I think that what I ended up finding about the final battle was I was hitting emotional points for Diana that I really wanted to hit but I felt a craving for some other kinds of emotional gratification »

Tyler Perry Returns in Boo 2! a Madea Halloween This October

Before the holiday weekend gets under way, Lionsgate set new release dates for a pair of its upcoming projects. First up, the studio has handed out an October 20, 2017 release date for Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, a follow-up to last year's Boo! A Madea Halloween, from star/writer/director Tyler Perry. The studio also slated the new Aardman Animation stop-motion film Early Man for release on February 16, 2018. Unfortunately for both of those projects, they land on very competitive weekends.

Over the last few years, the third weekend in October has become increasingly crowded, but last year, Boo! A Madea Halloween managed to come out on top with a box office win of $28.5 million, easily beating three more newcomers, 20th Century Fox's Keeping Up With the Joneses, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and Ouija: Origins of Evil. However, it only earned $73.2 million domestically and just $1.6 million internationally for a worldwide total of $74.8 million, »

Netflix Original Movie Review: War Machine Is a Voyage Into the Absurd

War Machine is a biting satire about the U.S. war in Afghanistan. It's a voyage into the absurd that encapsulates the insanity of never ending armed conflict. Adapted from the highly acclaimed novel, The Operators by Michael Hastings, War Machine is the tale of four star General Glenn McMahon. The character is based on General Stanley McChrystal, whose arrogance and hubris led to an epic downfall. Director/writer David Michod gets top marks for humor and stark realism. War is hell. The film takes aim in a comedic way, but never loses sight of the brutality.

In April of 2010, President Barack Obama was making a beeline out of Iraq; with the war in Afghanistan devolving after years of quagmire. Insert the hardline, true believer, military man to the bone, General Glen McMahon (Brad Pitt). The Special Forces leader in Iraq, and an expert in counter insurgency tactics, McMahon is »

Women-Only Wonder Woman Screenings Have Some Men Very Upset

25 May 2017 5:33 PM, PDT

The Alamo Drafthouse is considered one of the most revered movie theaters in America, which has become well known for its hard-line stance on in-theater talking that has lead to a string of fan-favorite anti-talking PSA videos. The theater certainly isn't afraid to push the envelope, even if it brings a few trolls out of the woodwork, which was the case recently when the Austin, Texas theater announced a "women only" screening of Warner Bros.' Dceu adventure Wonder Woman. While the screening was praised by many, it also lead to a number of males voicing their frustration on the theater's social media pages. Here's the official description of this screening from the Alamo Drafthouse website.

"The most iconic superheroine in comic book history finally has her own movie, and what better way to celebrate than with an all-female screening? Apologies, gentlemen, but we're embracing our girl power and saying »
