Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Review: Epic Gaming On A Little System

I never had the chance to play Xenoblade Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a true, honest to god, no-holding-back Jrpg. In recent years, western developers have revamped the fantasy RPG genre with games like Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age, and JRPGs have been reduced to Final Fantasy remasters, most of Atlus U. »

Weekend Box Office: San Andreas Rocks The Box Office

1 June 2015 1:41 PM, PDT

The natural disaster epic San Andreas had no trouble taking the number one spot at the North American box office this weekend. The Dwayne Johnson starrer opened to better-than-expected numbers, pushing last week’s champ Tomorrowland down to third place. A different type of cinematic disaster, Sony’s Aloha, couldn’t even make it into the top five. Despite San Andreas’ big debut, the top ten was down approximately 18% from last year at this time when Disney’s Maleficent arrived on the scene with a potent $69 million.

It’s been a while since a large-scale disaster epic brought viewers into multiplexes in decent numbers. Last year, Into the Storm open in mid-August where it earned a moderate $47 million. Prior to that, it was Roland Emmerich’s 2012 that opened to $65 million in the fall of 2009 en route to a sizable $166 million domestically.

31 May 2015 8:35 PM, PDT

We now know what the Andy Serkis Star Wars: The Force Awakens character name is thanks to a throwaway line in a recent article posted at the official Star Wars website. What he looks like will remain under wraps for the time being.

As the first Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens trailer insinuates through a narration by Serkis in character, his role leans closer to the dark side of the Force than the light. There's an evilness in his voice's tone that surely cannot be associated with the Resistance or anyone not on the side of the First Order.

Buried deep in a StarWars.com article on Annie Leibovitz is the following line that tells us what character Serkis will be playing, "A previously unpublished photo of Andy Serkis, also sporting mo-cap gear for his portrayal of Supreme Leader Snoke, is available here exclusively (see the »
