The Best and Worst of Chandler’s Girlfriends on ‘Friends’

With the release of Friends being on Netflix two months ago, some of us at TVOvermind have spent a lot of our free time watching episodes of the classic sitcom that starred Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer. While watching some of these awesome episodes, we began to notice that the characters dated a lot. It is understandable because they were all attractive twenty-somethings when the show premiered back in 1994.  We thought it would be a fun idea to rank the boyfriends or girlfriends of each character for our readers’ to check out. Last week, we took a look at all of the women Joey Tribbiani dated during the comedy’s ten-season run (and you can take a look at the article by clicking here). This week, we will be analyzing and evaluating all the fictional women in Chandler Bings’ life, including Monica, »

Community Season 6 Trailer: Watch Greendale Enter a New Dean-Mension

My fellow Greendale Human Beings, the Community Season 6 trailer has arrived, and it is glorious. Despite yet another cast departure, with Yvette Nicole Brown exiting Community as a series regular in order to take care of her ailing father, and a move from NBC to Yahoo Screen, the three-minute long trailer (okay, well, technically, it’s two minutes and fifty-six seconds, but, you know, who’s counting?) feels like the same weird, lovable, and, of course, hilarious Community that we all know and love. Without giving away all the goodness in the trailer (and trust me, there’s a lot to look forward to), the video certainly gives a taste of what Community Season 6 will be like and how new cast members Criminal Minds‘ Paget Brewster and Enlisted‘s Keith David will fit into the group. Even from the short scenes we have with them, it’s clear that Dan Harmon and co. »

Glee’s Jane Lynch to Be CBS’ Angel From Hell

Though many have called Jane Lynch’s Glee character, Sue Sylvester, demonic over the show’s six seasons, the actress’s next character will apparently be a little less satanic and a little more angelic, as she has landed the title role in CBS’ upcoming pilot Angel From Hell. Per Deadline, Angel From Hell, which comes from writer and executive producer Tad Quill (Bent, Scrubs), will focus on the “brassy and flamboyant” Amy (who will be played by Lynch), who enters a young woman named Allison’s life, claiming to be her guardian angel. The pair form an unlikely friendship, but Allison remains unsure whether Amy is indeed an angel or just crazy. Angel From Hell is Lynch’s first major project since Glee wrapped production on its sixth and final season last month. Lynch won an Emmy for her role as Sue Sylvester during the show’s first season »

Town Used in The Walking Dead Season 3 Up for Sale on eBay

How would you like to own a piece of The Walking Dead memorabilia that you could be sure no one else in the world would own? Well, if you’re a big fan of the AMC zombie series and have the money to spend, you can purchase a town (well, part of a town) that was used in The Walking Dead Season 3 episode, “Clear.” Fans of the series will remember that “Clear” was a more character-based installment that centered on Rick, Carl, and Michonne and brought back the character of Morgan for the first time since the show’s pilot; it has been praised as one of the best hours of not only The Walking Dead Season 3 but of the entire series. As we first learned from our sister site Housely, nine buildings in downtown Grantville were purchased by former Grantville mayor Jim Sells out of foreclosure during the recession. »

Arrow Is Starting to Go Off the Rails Thanks to Oliver’s Spinning Moral Compass

We’ll get this out of the way now. I like Arrow. I’ve liked it for three years,  and I’ll like for three to seven more, depending how long a life the CW gives it. Judging by the fact that it’s spawned one spin-off with another to follow, I’m guessing the DC TV universe it started is going to be around a good long while, which is awesome. That doesn’t meant the show is without issues, and lately, it’s got quite a few. And the biggest problem with Arrow stems from something I’ve complained about since Season 2: Oliver’s weird, nonsensical moral compass. One of the things that attracted me to Arrow in the first place was when Oliver Queen came back to town and put on the hood, he was essentially the Punisher. Here’s a list of bad guys, let’s kill them all. »

Orphan Black Season 3 Trailer: Clones Versus Clones

It’s been a long wait for fans of BBC America’s sci-fi drama Orphan Black (and I include myself in that group of fans), but Season 3 of the beloved series will be premiering in just over a month on April 18. And to tide us over before new episodes begin airing, BBC America has finally released a full-length, official trailer for Orphan Black Season 3, and while it’s clear that Sarah, Cosima, Alison, and the rest of the gang still face some conflicts within their own group, it appears that the biggest threat of this upcoming season will be a new one, as the Castor clones (played by Ari Millen) revealed in the Season 2 finale look to be getting into the action and causing all sorts of mayhem. With such a dangerous and unknown threat now out there, Sarah and the rest of her sisters (or should I have…

Smash’s Jeremy Jordan Joins CBS’ Supergirl As Future Superman Villain Toyman

As CBS’ Supergirl is getting ready to begin production on its pilot this week in Los Angeles, the series is starting to round out its cast. Last week, we had a lot of new additions with David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Calista Flockhart, Dean Cain and Helen Slater all filling roles on the series, but there was still another character that was left to cast. Last night, CBS and Warner Bros. TV announced that Smash’s Jeremy Jordan has landed the role of Winslow “Wynn” Schott, a tech genius as well as a superstar It whiz that will be working alongside Kara (Melissa Benoist) at CatCo, Cat Grant’s (Flockhart) company. Jordan’s role is set to be a guest spot in the pilot, but has the potential to recur on the show which is most likely what is going to happen. In DC Comics, Schott is more known as the Superman villain Toyman, »

The Television Career of James Van Der Beek

James Van Der Beek has had quite the busy 2015. The actor, who will turn 38 years old on Sunday, will be starring in the latest CSI spin-off. The series is titled CSI: Cyber and is about a group of detectives who investigate internet related murders, computer hacking, and identity theft. Van Der Beek will play Elijah Mundo, the second in command of the team. The series will also star Oscar winner Patricia Arquette, Luke Perry, and Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow. Another project of Van Der Beek’s popped up on the internet last week. He wrote and starred in a short film devoted to the popular children’s television series Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. This 14 minute film also features Katee Stackhoff, and it is a much darker and more violent version of the characters than fans were accustomed to watching. Van Der Beek played Rocky the Red Ranger, who was portrayed by Steven Cardenas in… »

Supergirl First Look: See Melissa Benoist and Helen Slater Together for the First Time

2 March 2015 10:28 AM, PST

Melissa Benoist gave fans two Supergirls for the price of one in this photo she posted on Twitter today. In the picture, the star of CBS’ upcoming Supergirl TV series poses with the star of the 1984 Supergirl movie (and current castmate on CBS’ Supergirl), Helen Slater. It’s unclear whether this photo was taken on the set of Supergirl or not (although filming of the pilot is scheduled to begin this week). However, no matter where the two actresses were, the picture is sure to get fans even more excited for the upcoming superhero series, which comes the team of Greg Berlanti (ArrowThe Flash) and Ali Adler (ChuckThe New Normal) and has had numerous casting announcements revealed over the past two weeks. Probably the most buzzed-about of those casting announcements was that both Slater and Dean Cain, who starred as Clark Kent/Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, »

The Originals Casts Farscape’s Claudia Black to Recur as Dahlia

2 March 2015 10:01 AM, PST

The Mikaelsons’ Aunt Dahlia is coming to The Originals, and now we finally know who will be playing her on The CW vampire drama. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter,  Farscape’s Claudia Black has been cast in the role of the mysterious and incredibly dangerous witch, who is also the maternal aunt of the Mikaelson siblings. As we learned this season on The Originals, Dahlia helped her younger sister, Esther (the mother of Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn, and Freya), with a fertility spell. However, the spell came with a price, as Dahlia wanted the first-born of every generation, taking Esther’s oldest daughter, Freya (played by Riley Voelkel), as payment at the time. When the Mikaelson children were all turned into vampires (who typically cannot reproduce), it was believed by Esther that Dahlia would have no reason to go after her family again, but when Klaus and Hayley had a child of… »

Daredevil Photos: Get Your First Look at Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin

2 March 2015 7:52 AM, PST

Every great hero needs a good villain, and from the look of these brand new photos from Marvel’s Daredevil, it appears that Vincent D’Onofrio is up to the challenge. The actor, probably best known to TV fans for his role as Detective Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, will be playing the role of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, who quickly becomes the number one enemy of the titular vigilante. “I just brought in this kind of character who in one sentence could easily go from being a child to a monster, depending on where his emotions take him,” D’Onofrio said in article with USA Today. The same article also describes how just as the series will be an origin story for Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock as Daredevil, it will also be one for Fisk as Kingpin. While both men want to clean up the streets of New York, »

Revenge’s James Tupper Talks David’s New Role, Relationship With Emily & the ‘Craziest’ Revenge Scene Still to Come

2 March 2015 6:48 AM, PST

The fourth season of ABC’s Revenge has, in many ways, felt like a rebirth for the series, and one of the main reasons behind that rejuvenation has been the show’s resurrection of David Clarke. Believed to be dead throughout the show’s first three seasons, David was revealed to be alive in Revenge‘s Season 3 finale and has been a major player in many of the events that have taken place during Season 4. In an exclusive interview with TVOvermind, the actor who plays David Clarke, James Tupper, spoke about his character’s new role in the back half of Season 4, his constantly evolving relationship with Emily, and an upcoming Revenge scene that he calls “the craziest whopper you’ve ever seen.” TVOvermind: You were a guest star on Revenge for its first three seasons, mainly only appearing in flashbacks, until they resurrected your character in the Season 3 finale. »

The CW’s Variety of Great Shows Has Made It One of the Best Networks on Television

2 March 2015 6:32 AM, PST

A year ago, I didn’t watch a single show on The CW. I had written off the network, sure that the quality of shows could not match those on some of the bigger networks. After all, looking in from an outsiders perspective, it seemed like their only requirement for actors was that they be incredibly good looking, which, admittedly, most of them are. But when I finally gave the network a chance, starting with Arrow, then The Flash, then The 100 and finally, Jane the Virgin, I realized that The CW had a lot more to offer than simply beautiful people. The shows on this network are diverse, ranging from dark and dramatic to light and fun, even incorporating some telenovela dramedy. There is something for everyone on The CW, and if you give it a chance, you might even fall in love with more than one show. While on the surface… »

Valentine’s Day may be over, but love is still in the air here at TVOvermind. You may have checked out our other articles that showcased our favorite TV couples from the 1980’s and the 1990’s. Some of those classic couples that were discussed included Chandler and Monica from Friends, Zack and Kelly from Saved by the Bell, and Cliff and Clair Huxtable from The Cosby Show. This week, we are going to examine the best TV couples from the 2000’s. We had a lot of television to sift through to find couples worthy of mentioning in this article. However, we think we have found four couples that you will agree made the 2000’s one of the best decades for TV couples. The four couples included on this list come from both comedic and dramatic television shows and feature two high school students, two doctors, and an office romance that »
