The Most Realistic Depiction of an Old Man Logan

In the comic book and movie universes no matter how old Logan Aka The Wolverine gets we know those claws are coming out and when the bad guys come he’s going to be doing some serious damage.   And while the new movie Logan tells the tale of an aging Wolverine and even goes into what happens in the mutant’s years later in his life, are we to believe this is how it really all goes down?  Sure we know that Logan is tough but at some point we all have our breaking points.  There’s even an 8 part series out

I Need to Decorate My Home with These Abstract Seinfeld Oil Paintings

You may recall that I’ve mentioned that there are 2 movie franchises that will never die with regard to new things popping up no matter how much time goes in between movies.  The first is an active franchise and that would be Star Wars.  The second is Harry Potter which, while we may never see a movie again, you can count on something new popping up about Harry Potter on the internet every single day. In the TV universe there aren’t too many shows that are still being dissected, analyzed and having new parts created.  Of all the shows in

8-Year-old Megan Jones Creates Animation Showing the Plight of Polar Bears

When I was 8-years-old I most certainly wasn’t making any films let alone thinking about the plight of any animal on earth.  If anything I’d go to the zoo and marvel at all the wildlife like any other child.  However, we don’t live the same world we did 30 years ago.  Megan Jones is an 8-year-old living in today’s world and clearly she’s as cerebral as they come.   She created a moving animation for a homework assignment on animals and endangered species. It shows how polar bears are threatened by climate change. After impressing her teachers and classmates, the video

The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Sally’s Sister Comes to Town

The Bold and the Beautiful is ending the week on an interesting note. As if Sally Spectra wasn’t nervous enough about the review her first line received, she’s going to hear Shirley tell her the only way she’ll ever succeed is if she goes back to the beginning and uses the designs the line had to introduce when they first began so many years ago. It’s not what Sally wants to hear, but we think she’s going to end up doing what she’s told. She’ll end up feeling good about it as inspiration hits, and she’s going to find there

Fullmetal Alchemist Film Reveals Alphonse Eric Photo

Yesterday was kind of a big deal in Japanese film.  With the release of the Alphonse photo above it was Japan’s first use of “techniques” to create a CG Alphonse.    For those interest in the Anime and Manga genres this film could mark a turning point with regard to technology. The official website for the live-action film of Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga revealed the film’s December 1 opening date on Thursday. In addition, the site revealed a new still featuring Alphonse Elric in full CG.  Comic Natalie website reports that the CG Alphonse employs some techniques for the first

What Would X-Men Movies After Hugh Jackman Even Look Like?

A lot has been made of Logan being Hugh Jackman’s last outing as Marvel’s iconic clawed mutant.  He was the clear and present protagonist in the team’s first cinematic feature in 2000, acting as an audience surrogate thrust onto the front lines of the fight for Mutant equality.  Since then, he has been in every single X-movie Fox ever produced, from his own solo movies to having his picture stapled to Ryan Reynolds’ head in Deadpool.  And now we’re a week out from his last adventure. With his time as Wolverine wrapping up, the question now becomes “what’s next?”  What

Red Dead Redemption 2: What Rockstar Learned From GTA 5

With the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 edging closer and closer, players are still have little information on what to expect from the game. Rockstar has only released a single cinematic trailer for the title and a short paragraph’s worth of vague information. Even so, we might divine some of what is to come based on the previous work of Rockstar Games, a previous major title, GTA 5 and the accompanying multiplayer component GTA Online. We know for a fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 will have a multiplayer mode similar to that of GTA 5. Chances are this

Superstore Review: The “Wellness Fair” Doesn’t Go “Well” For Everyone

I will admit that this Superstore episode didn’t start out so great. It was a slightly funny story about Amy playing hooky, that turned into her meddling in other people’s lives and Glenn becoming a petty child. Neither suited the two characters well. But, as great shows are wont to do, they totally turned it around by the end of the episode. I was both impressed and stunned and the remarkable turnaround in less than 30 minutes, but it’s the mark of a truly great show. This week on Superstore: Amy pretends to be sick to go to the movies, and accidentally discovers Jeff

The Cast of This is Us Apologizes for Making You Cry Every Episode

In the history of network television there might not be a show that makes people cry as much as This is Us does. Sure there are shows that contain episodes that bring you to tears but This is Us does it every single episode.  Without question you know going into each show that you’re going to cry at some point.  It’s gotten so ridiculous that even one of the stars of the show, Milo Ventimiglia, takes to social media to warn fans that a particular episode might not be easy to handle. While crying is sad and it sucks to

Powerless Season 1 Episode 4 Review: Emily Dates a Henchman

Just when I thought this show might fail, it charms me to think otherwise. “Emily Dates a Henchman” was a fun and cute episode. Maybe cute wasn’t the adjective the writers or actors were hoping for, but it feels appropriate. Teddy, Ron, and Van go Batman hunting after finding a leftover batarang. I loved this subplot. Tudyk can make anything fun, even a sideswipe of a car mirror from Batman as he saves a bus full of orphans. Ron leaves the batarang with cookies and milk, and he and Teddy practice acting cool around Batman. This was just a fun

Check Out Contra in the Real World on its 30th Anniversary

Just about anyone who owned an Nes is familiar with the game Contra.  It’s a classic.  From the amazing unlimited lives code (up down up down..you know the rest) to the music to the sick weapons you got to use, in the pantheon of greatest games of the Nintendo Entertainment System, most people would put it in the top ten.  The series just celebrated its 30th anniversary, as the arcade version began appearing in arcades in late February, 1987. Though most people are much more familiar with the home version and hold a special place for it in their hearts,

Dungeons and Dragons Master Lego Set Could Be a Reality Someday

I know that the title of this article is a little weird.  I mean, who cares right?  Wrong.  This is kind of awesome and I’ll tell you why.  First of all, Lego rules.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  If there’s a company that can ever come close to duplicating Disney, it’s Lego.  There’s just so many opportunities.  Like Disney, Lego has taken the path of having attractions, movies, figures, merchandise, you name it.  With the success it’s having in the theaters, if they reinvest that money correctly Disney could have some serious competition. Anyway, one of

Film Director Has a Theory on Why Most Video Game Movies Stink

The gaming world has been suffering from bad movies for nearly 30 years now.  While I would argue that it’s definitely coming along, the collective public would agree that video games turned into movies have not exactly been successful at the box office.  When Tomb Raider is your most profitable movie franchise you know there’s a problem.   Assassin’s Creed gave it a shot and if anything I’d give it a C for moving things along, but it still didn’t “get it right.” Here’s the thing though.  How can you “get it right?” There’s one movie director who has a theory.

Dove Cameron and The Disney Channel Playbook for Young Females

Alright, I’ve had it.    Dove Cameron is officially the straw that broke the camel’s back.  I have to say this.  I feel I’m obligated and that an investigation needs to take place as soon as possible.  Not sure if you’ve seen these new photos of Dove Cameron channeling a Marilyn Monroe but the above photo is part of the gallery.  Don’t get me wrong.  Dove Cameron is 21 years old and she can do whatever she wants.   And I do admit she happens to do an excellent rendition of Monroe in Galore magazine.  The photo shoot was done by Prince

When the Muppets Parody La La Land All is Right in the World

Most movies that are nominated for as many awards as La La Land get parodied.  It’s natural.  But even I can admit it’s a little more natural when you have a movie that 100% deserves to be parodied.   It’s not like Platoon was getting the serious parody treatment back in the 80s.  I mean sure, people were acting out scenes and there was some funny stuff but Platoon wasn’t a lavish Broadway musical type movie specifically written to get an Oscar. If you think this movie wasn’t written for that purpose and that purpose only, think again.  Look at the

I Really Do Wish They Could All be California Girls

And no not the Katy Perry kind or even The Beach Boys kind.   I’m talking about David Lee Roth’s “California Girls.”  Maybe it’s because I just heard the song in my car.  Maybe because it’s 2017 and I seriously long for the 80s but I just gotta hand it to that song for being hands down one of the most fun songs I’ve ever heard.  It’s just so “not serious.”  It’s just so “California beachy.”  Every single time I hear this song I immediately think of 80s people wearing bathing suits zooming down the pavement in Venice Beach on roller

Here’s to Logan and John Wick 2 Not Being in 3D

I was particularly happy when I saw a Reddit post hit their front page and the title reads “a cheer for ‘Logan’ and ‘John Wick 2’ for Not being in 3D!”  I’d like to share the exact post that the individual made.  Right now it’s sitting at #2 on the front page with close to 40,000 upvotes.  It wasn’t flashy.  It’s not a once in a lifetime literary piece.  It’s just an honest dude from Germany telling it like it is. I’ve recently seen both these films. and they are both not in 3D which made the quality of watching
