Five Reasons You Should Be Watching Lifetime’s UnREAL

Summer TV can sometimes be a barren wasteland of programming, as broadcast networks mostly dish out cheap, reality series and game shows that will hopefully grab them somewhat decent ratings. However, in recent years, there’s been a push for more quality summer series, which is why we’ve seen the likes of ABC and CBS create shows such as The Astronaut Wives ClubRookie Blue, and Under the Dome. Meanwhile, USA is also diving into new territory with Mr.  Robot and Complications, and HBO is testing its unproven summer lineup of True Detective, Ballers, and The Brink. However, the best series I’ve watched this summer by far has been Lifetime’s UnREAL, which airs its fifth episode tonight at 10 p.m. Both a biting satire of reality TV and an interesting character drama, UnREAL has been able to pull of the impressive feat of being dark, fun, and compelling television, »

NBC Officially Cuts Ties With Donald Trump Due to Controversy

“You’re fired.” Donald Trump is usually the one delivering that phrase to contestants on The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice, but he was on the receiving end of those words today, as NBC has officially cut ties with the Republican presidential candidate. The network’s decision to discontinue  its “business relationship” with Trump comes after a week of constant pressure from viewers over Trump’s recent comments regarding illegal immigration from Mexico, as he suggested that immigrants largely consist of criminals. After Trump’s controversial comments, a petition at Change.org was created, requesting that NBC cut all ties with Trump; as of yesterday, June 28, the petition had reached 20,000 signatures. With this decision, NBC, which has  been the home to Trump’s beauty pageants, Miss USA and Miss Universe, will no longer air the competitions. Additionally, Trump will no longer be the host of his reality series The Apprentice or Celebrity Apprentice, »

Arrow Star Stephen Amell Proves He Can Hit a Home Run During Blue Jays’ Batting Practice

If you follow Arrow star Stephen Amell on Facebook (and if you don’t, you totally should—he does an amazing job of interacting with his fans through Q&A’s, campaigns, and other fun projects), you’re probably already aware of how much of a push he has been making for the Blue Jays’s third baseman, Josh Donaldson, to go to the All-Star Game this year. Amell has constantly been posting on his Facebook page (and on Twitter), urging his fans to vote for Donaldson because, with his stats (.301 batting average, 18 home runs, and 48 RBIs), he deserves the chance to start in the midsummer classic. Additionally, over the course of these video posts, the actor promised that he had the ability to hit a home run out of a Major League stadium, and well, yesterday, Amell proved just that by going deep at Rogers Centre during bating practice with the Blue… »

Grey’s Anatomy’s Arizona Is Sticking Around: Jessica Capshaw Signs Three-Year Contract Extension

Arizona Robbins isn’t leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital anytime soon. According to TVLine, who first reported the news yesterday, Jessica Capshaw, who plays the character on Grey’s Anatomy, has struck a new deal with ABC after her contracted expired back in May. What’s most interesting, though, is that this new contract is reportedly for three years, meaning that Capshaw will remain on the series throughout the 2017-18 TV season (and thus the show’s upcoming twelfth and possibly thirteenth and fourteenth seasons), even though, at this point, Grey’s Anatomy has only been renewed for Season 12, which will being airing this fall and end in the spring of 2016. The news of Capshaw’s new contract is coming out just as ABC readies to renegotiate with many of her castmates, including Sara Ramirez,  who plays Callie Torres, Arizona’s on-again-off-again wife/love interest. Ramirez’s current deal, along »
