The Top 10 Saturday Night Live Christmas Skits

For more than 40 years, Saturday Night Live has reliably made us laugh every weekend by parodying the latest in political and cultural happenings and writing sharp, witty comedy sketches. Even though there are some recurring characters, it’s a fresh, new show each week, with a new host, a new musical guest, and new current topics to skewer. Cast members may change with the seasons, but one thing is constant: at 11:30pm (eastern time) on the sixth day of the week, when you hear the now famous line, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” at the end of the

The Flash Season 3 Episode 9 Review: “The Present”

Coming off of the crossover, The Flash has been looking a lot stronger lately. While there is still a lot to fix, the show seems to be attempting to finally restore things to their normal form after Flashpoint didn’t really have the impact everyone expected. The crossover was a ton of fun but finally seems to have fixed the Barry and Cisco drama, which will be a huge event to finally move past that allows the show to focus on it’s actual antagonist for the remainder of the season. Being the mid-season finale, “The Present,” finally jumps into some more background

The Real O’Neals Season 2 Episode 7 Review: “The Real Match”

The Real O’Neals takes a lesson in what brotherhood really means to the wrestling match in last night’s episode “The Real Match.”  Older brother and undefeated wrestling champion Jimmy recruits his reluctant, 125 lbs. brother Kenny to join the wrestling team after another athlete in that weight class drops out.  Clearly taking Kenny out of his comfort zone, we anxiously await how this Broadway enthusiast (we didn’t make that assumption, Kenny declared it with his West Side Story reference) handles high school sports. When Eileen decides to join VP Murray at his Vice Principal conference at the Courtyard Marriott, Pat

Chicago Fire 100th Episode Review: A Tribute to Chicago and its Firefighters

A series’s 100th episode is a celebration for the show and its fans. It’s an opportunity to say thank you to fans who have tuned into the previous 99 episodes, and make a major turn in the narrative. For Chicago Fire‘s milestone 100th episode, the writers pulled out all the stops to write a love letter to the fans, firefighters and paramedics, and the city of Chicago itself. Our favorite characters are taking different leaps in their lives, one of the busiest streets in Chicago is shut down in an emergency, and as always, Molly’s remains Firehouse 51’s home away

No Tomorrow Season 1 Episode 9 Review: “No Truer Words”

It’s no secret that the past two episodes of No Tomorrow have been underwhelming for me. Whether it was the show juggling too many storylines in one hour or turning Xavier into an obnoxious, oblivious jerk, these last couple of weeks have left me feeling quite disappointed in a series that I called one of the best new shows of 2016. However, whenever I doubt No Tomorrow, it steps right back up to the plate and proves just how good it can be by hitting a home run of an episode, and that’s certainly what “No Truer Words” is. Although “No Doubt” may

New Girl Season 6 Episode 9 Review: “Es Good”

Jess Day has never been my favorite New Girl character (that has and always will be Nick Miller), but she’s the show’s protagonist. Even though New Girl has grown into an ensemble series over the years, to the point where Jess could be legitimately absent from a few episodes in Season 5, it’s still always been Jess’s show; without the strong writing for her character and Zooey Deschanel’s equally stellar performance, New Girl never would have worked back when it premiered in 2011, and it wouldn’t work now either. Jess has, of course, been through some major ups and downs throughout the show’s five-plus

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Review: “The Overmining”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been doing a lot  of things right this season and the parade of hilarious guest stars is just one of them. That particular trend continued in tonight’s episode, as Ken Marino returned to reprise his role of C.J., the incompetent captain who replaced Holt on the day shift and banished the whole squad to night shift after they disobeyed him to save Jake and Holt earlier this season. It would have truly been a crime to not bring Ken Marino back, as he brings laughs to every project he’s part of. Along with that, he was key to getting the

Star Wars Rebels Season 1 Review: “A Good Start and A New Hope”

6 December 2016 11:47 AM, PST

Star Wars has a huge legacy and within the past decade or so there have been tons of new entries into the universe adding to the canon and story. Within the animated television realm, Star Wars really established itself through Cartoon Network’s The Clone Wars series, which after six season had grown into a really fun show that brought more depth to important and familiar characters. As The Clone Wars story was starting to wind down, the franchise had been acquired by Disney and the company launched a newer animated series on the Disney Channel. Star Wars Rebels, which jumped in between episode’s

5 Characters that Need to be in Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

6 December 2016 9:52 AM, PST

This year’s Psx has come and gone and one of the major announcements at the annual Playstation convention was Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.  Rather than make a sequel to the longstanding Marvel vs Capcom fighting game series, Capcom instead chose to reboot it: bringing the Marvel side of the equation more in line with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  The incredible trailers released at the event show off versions of Iron Man, Captain America and Captain Marvel – clearly modeled after their big-screen counterparts – trading blows with Ryu (Street Fighter), X (Mega Man X) and Morrigan (Darkstalkers). One thing that

The Top Ten Terry Crews Brooklyn Nine Nine Moments

6 December 2016 8:00 AM, PST

After just a couple of minutes watching Fox’s award-winning show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, you’ll be able to instantly tell it’s not your ordinary cop series. It’s a hilarious sitcom that is seriously innovative and unlike anything else on air. The show is currently in its fourth season, and one of the actors that has made it such a success is Terry Crews. His role on the show is Detective Sergeant Terence “Terry” Jeffords, the 9-9’s supervisor, devoted husband and father, and bodybuilder on the side. The way the Sergeant is so needlessly high strung, excitable, and talks about himself in the

The Voice Season 11 Semi-final Performances Force Tough Choices

6 December 2016 4:56 AM, PST

The Voice season 11 semi-final performances give viewers a tough choice.  With four people going home there’s no room for being nice.  Viewers have to decide whose voice they want to hear for one more week.  This is going to be brutal. I know, it’s supposed to be all about who wins and gets the record contract.  Except this is not American Idol.   There have been no mega stars – yet.  However, how many Voice artists are still making music and have new iTunes singles,  concerts tours, and are still working in music? A whole lot!  Some of them

Why Fuller House Is A Better Revival Series Than Girl Meets World

5 December 2016 5:00 PM, PST

Controversial opinion alert! First, I’d like to go on record that I’m a fan of both shows, for different reasons. Well, actually, the exact same reason. I grew up in the 90’s and I loved both Boy Meets World and Full House. I knew, like everyone else, that DJ belonged with Steve, Cory with Topanga, and took sage advice from Danny Tanner and Mr. Feeny in stride. So of course, to see any and all of these characters return to my television in my older age has been a delight. However, I’d be lying if I said that they were

The Voice Season 11 Semi-finals Are Tonight, and Four People Will Go Home!

5 December 2016 3:23 PM, PST

That’s right fans!  Tonight is The Voice season 11 semi-finals, so the top eight will be singing for a spot in the top four!  Yikes! This also means that you’d better think hard about who you want to make the top three.  If the fourth person comes down to an instant save on Tuesday, well you know how that can go. (If not, check out this article on the pitfalls of the instant save.) Now, we don’t know exactly how these four singers will be cut.  Maybe the bottom person is immediately eliminated and the other three go on for the instant

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Is Not the Magical Return to Form for J.K. Rowling We Had Hoped For

5 December 2016 8:00 AM, PST

Like most people my age, Harry Potter was a cornerstone of my childhood.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone made its way Stateside when I was nearly as old as its protagonist and the series’ annualization ensured that I grew up with him.  And when the movies started coming out, I was right there in line with a hundred other screaming kids opening weekend: anxious to see the magical world of Rowling’s imagination brought to life in front of me. Now, I was never quite as fanatical as a lot of my peers.  I never stood in line for the
