Jury Sides With The Donald In Trump Tower Condo Case

Chicago — An 87-year-old grandmother took on billionaire Donald Trump. And on Thursday – she lost.

Jurors sided with the real estate mogul-turned-tv showman in a weeklong civil trial focused on Jacqueline Goldberg's claim that Trump cheated her in a condo bait-and-switch scheme.

The federal jury in Chicago returned with a finding in Trump's favor. Goldberg, of Evanston, had sought various damages totaling around $6 million.

Goldberg herself showed little emotion but her attorney, Shelly Kulwin, slumped over and buried his head on a courtroom table. Trump's attorney Stephen Novack smiled and nodded his head in gratitude at the jury.

The case pitted the suburban Chicago woman against a New Yorker who revels in his image as a big talker with big ideas. Many know him best for his catchphrase on his "Apprentice" TV show: "You're fired!"

In sarcasm-filled closings, Kulwin described Trump in stark, extreme terms – as villainous and greedy. Trump wasn't in court, »

Director Defends Controversial Choice

Cannes, France — Shooting the Midwest in monochrome came naturally for Alexander Payne in his father-son road trip "Nebraska."

Payne premiered his black-and-white follow-up to "The Descendants" on Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, where the gentle tale drew largely enthusiastic reviews for both its warmth and its colorless cinematography.

"It just seemed like the right thing to do for this film," Payne told reporters Thursday at the French Riviera festival. "I always wanted to make a film in black and white. It's such a beautiful form. It really left our cinema because of commercial, not artistic reasons."

"This modest, austere story seemed to lend itself to being made in black and white," he added.

"Nebraska" stars Bruce Dern as an aging father, whose son (Will Forte) drives him from Montana to Nebraska to placate his father's delusional belief that he's won $1 million from a mass mailing.

'I Already Know The Next Film'

Los Angeles -- The hardest segment to watch in "Before Midnight" – an extended, emotional hotel-room argument that comprises the film's final third – was actually the easiest to shoot, say co-stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy and director Richard Linklater.

The third film in the series, following 1995's "Before Sunrise" and 2004's "Before Sunset," finds loquacious lovers Jesse and Celine married and enjoying an idyllic Greek holiday with their beautiful twin daughters. Jesse, the easygoing American, is a successful novelist. Celine, the fiery Frenchwoman, is occupied with environmental concerns. They have a lovely life but, like so many couples, are struggling to juggle marriage, parenthood and careers. On what is meant to be a much-needed date night, long-held resentments bubble to the surface in a lengthy quarrel that's a tour de force of writing and acting.

The trio, who once again co-wrote the script (their "Before Sunset" screenplay earned them an »

January Jones: Diane Kruger & I 'Fight' With Each Other To Get The Best Fashion Pieces

Not to pick sides, but Diane Kruger might just be our favorite gal to watch on the red carpet. So why is this polarizing? January Jones has just revealed that the two are in a perpetual style competition with one another.

“She always looks fantastic so I watch what she wears," January told Net-a-Porter's The Edit. "We like to go to shows or look online and then fight each other for the best [pieces].”

Maybe this isn't the wildest fashion catfight on the books, but it's interesting to think that stars, much like the public relations people who lend them the clothes, have to really keep track of what celebrities wear. For whatever reason, designer dresses seem to lose their luster each time they're subsequently worn by a new red carpet goer. Can you just imagine the angry phone calls made to stylists when stars see their a photo of their »

'Girls Gone Wild' Founder Says Jury Is 'Retarded' & 'Should Be Shot Dead'

"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis thinks the jury that convicted him of imprisoning three women and assaulting one is "retarded."

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the day after he was found guilty, the 40-year-old soft-core porn mogul shouted at his interviewer:

I want that jury to know that each and every one of you are mentally f**king retarded and you should be euthanized because, as Darwin said, you have naturally selected yourself. You are the weakest members of the herd. Goodbye! And if that jury wants to convict me because I didn't show up, which is the only reason why they did, then, you know, they should all be lined up and shot!

It's par for the course for Francis, who is known for his volatile temper and has a lengthy history of legal trouble. He's since issued an apology, telling THR in a statement, that »

Fan Makes 45-Minute Unofficial Kanye Doc

Further proof Kanye West fans are some of the most devoted in the world. One member has taken it upon himself to compile a plethora of Kanye's best moments into one unofficial, yet fairly comprehensive, documentary.

The 45-minute film, a tall order for a homemade effort, combines behind-the-scenes footage, rare interview clips and a soundtrack of West's music to craft the story of the controversial rapper's rise from his "College Dropout" days to the seat atop his and Jay-z's "Throne." Titled "Where the Lonely Kids Go When the Bell Rings," it's an impressive undertaking, despite containing some grainy footage throughout.

If one thing is made clear in the documentary, other than the magnificently swift ascension West's fame saw in its early days, it's that the ego for which he is known is not a result of his worldwide acclaim. Within the first few minutes of the video, a younger West »

Don't Ask Julianne Moore This Question

Thank you, Julianne Moore.

In one of many frank moments during an interview with DuJour magazine, the actress drew attention to a line of questioning female celebs field regularly.

"Men aren't asked about age," Moore told the interviewer. "Men aren't asked about their children. Not that these things aren't important, but I do feel like it becomes reductive, when a woman's life becomes, 'Talk to me about your kids and how you feel about plastic surgery.' "

Furthermore the 52-year-old actress finds all the talk around aging to be "boring," she went on.

"Our fear of aging is really a fear of dying; aging is a physical manifestation of decay, and I think that is what's so upsetting to most people."

Moore must be a little bit fearless then, foregoing the Hollywood party line of aging being something to keep at bay by any means necessary. When talking about her L'Oreal partnership, »

Was Liberace A Good Pianist?

By J. Bryan Lowder

Was Liberace really that great of a piano man?

Claudette Barius/HBO

In Behind the Candelabra, the first time we encounter Michael DouglasLiberace is, naturally, on stage, treating his Vegas audience to a little bit of the boogie-woogie. He deftly carries the jaunty rhythmic bass line in his left hand while adding the melodic riff in his right between bouts of patter with the audience. And if you didn’t think talking and playing (and grinning) at the same time was impressive enough, how about that little “experiment,” as Liberace puts it, where he effortlessly plays the tune double-time—you know, 16 beats to the bar instead of 8?

Soderbergh’s Liberace clearly knows his way around the keyboard, but what about the actual man? He’s remembered primarily as the paragon of kitschy taste, but was Liberace actually a good pianist?

It depends on what you mean by “good. »

Jennifer Aniston: Stripping Was 'Fun'

Jennifer Aniston plays a stripper in her new movie "We're The Millers," but those looking forward to seeing the star take it all off are in for a serious disappointment.

The 44-year-old actress told "Chelsea Lately" host Chelsea Handler that she doesn't do full nudity in the film, and actually wore three bras on top of one another to cover herself up.

While she doesn't get completely naked, Aniston made sure to step up her work out routine in order to get ready for the racy role. The actress told "Extra" that she credits her super-toned body to her friend and yoga teacher Mandy Inger, and "doubled the amount" of yoga she normally does. "You get up into my age and you've gotta do a little bit more," she said.

Aniston seemed to have a lot of fun playing a stripper in the film, telling "Extra," "[Stripping] was so much fun. »

Watch: Spider-Man Takes Break, Plays Basketball

Andrew Garfield was filming "The Amazing Spider-Man II" in New York when a bit of rain put a literal dampener on on-set activities. While he probably could have just retreated to his trailer, he elected to walk across the street to some basketball courts and shoot some hoops with children.

Videos of the incident show Garfield casually playing some pick-up with the kids on Chinatown's Ps 1 courts. He's no pro, but as Gothamist writes, he's probably better than Tobey Maguire.

'Star Trek' Actress Suspects Nasa Is Hiding Proof Aliens Exist

Alice Eve knows aliens, or at least she does in her movies. The British actress has dealt with the topic of extra-terrestrial life quite a bit, as she's appeared in both "Star Trek Into Darkness" and "Men In Black 3," which is fitting since she believes we're not alone.

During a recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the 31-year-old spoke of a Skype chat she took part in alongside "Star Trek" director J.J. Abrams and co-stars Chris Pine and John Cho, as well as the astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The actress told Kimmel it was a fascinating experience, but she isn't convinced that Nasa has been honest with the public about the existence of alien life.

"That was definitely the coolest thing we've done. I mean, we've shared the movie with countries around the world, but we got to Skype ... with the guy in a space station. And »

Another Intense 'Real World' Fight

On "The Real World," Anastasia's boyfriend Mark came to visit, and everything was going great until they went out drinking with the roomies. Later, when they were heading to bed, Ana told Mark he drank too much, which ignited yet another blowout argument in the house.

After a few minutes of drunk arguing, Ana told Mark to leave, so he did. Ana wound up wandering the streets in tears looking for him, and found his hotel. Drama, drama, drama. So much drama.

Mark wanted Ana to leave the show, but she ended up deciding to stay. MTV put up a poll -- should Ana break up with Mark? So far -- it’s an almost 80 percent ‘yes.’

Usually dramatic roommate Nia was surprisingly calm, and pointed out, "Umm...you guys didn’t even make it 24 hours."

But Gossip & Gab says all this drama has them pretty invested in this season. »

She's Just Being Miley, And I Love Her For It

By Joe Coscarelli

Destiny Hope “Smiley” Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992. Hannah Montana, and her regular-girl alter ego Miley Stewart, were born eight and a half years later, in March 2006. But the Miley Cyrus we know today wasn’t really born until December 10, 2010, when the tabloid site TMZ posted a potentially career-ending video of the Disney kid at her 18th birthday, smoking something (salvia, according to Miley) from a bong. It was supposed to be shocking, but the only shocking part was how normal the whole episode was.

Watching the clip now, it’s annoying in the way anyone else’s home movies are. But while the specific activity depicted may have been illegal (laws regarding salvia vary depending on state and country) and/or dangerous (see Amy Rose’s drug primer), it’s also kind of mesmerizing in its silly, commonplace immaturity and relative innocence. It’s like any »

Watch: Alyssa Milano Talks Breastfeeding On Set Of 'Mistresses'

ABC's new series "Mistresses" is about a married woman who has an affair with a coworker. But actress Alyssa Milano told Jimmy Kimmel that those steamy scenes weren't as sexy off-screen as they will appear.

The pilot was shot right after Milano gave birth to her son, Milo in 2011. "I was still breastfeeding which made those love scenes really, really sexy... let me tell you," she said sarcastically. No matter what was going on on set, Milano explained that she would stop every two hours to either nurse or pump (thanks to a particularly helpful A.D. who set a timer to remind Mom and her castmates).

Milano has spoken candidly about breastfeeding her son in the past. In 2011, the new mom told Best for Babes that Milo was "a pro at latching on" from the moment he was born. "The thing I like best about breastfeeding is the closeness »

Iranian Filmmaker Banned From His Own Country Attends Cannes

Cannes, France — Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof, whose movies are banned in his country and who has been sentenced to jail by the Islamic regime there, is coming to Cannes for a screening of his latest film, publicists for the movie said Thursday.

"Manuscripts Don't Burn" tells the story of an Iranian author secretly writing his memoirs – and authorities' attempts to destroy the manuscript.

Publicists for the movie said Rasoulof would attend Friday's official screening. The film is competing in Cannes' sidebar competition, Un Certain Regard.

In 2010, Rasoulof and fellow director Jafar Panahi were arrested in Iran for filming without a permit, sentenced to six years prison and banned from filmmaking for 20 years on charges that included "making propaganda" against the ruling system.

Rasoulof's sentence was later reduced to a year on appeal, and he is currently on bail.

His film "Goodbye" won a prize at Cannes in 2011, but the director »

'Longmire' Star's Unsual Goal

New York — You may not recognize Robert Taylor as anyone other than the title character he plays on the crime drama "Longmire." But he's no newcomer.

"I've been working pretty solidly for a long time," says Taylor, with a wry throwaway: "Not that anyone would notice, you know what I mean?"

But not that he appears to be complaining.

"It's been my goal to work as much as possible, and be as unknown as possible," he insists.

Unknown-ness for the 50-year-old actor may be threatened as "Longmire" begins its second season Monday at 10 p.m. Edt on A&E, where he stars alongside Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica") and Lou Diamond Phillips.

Taylor impressed viewers last summer as Sheriff Walt Longmire, who polices the Big Sky sprawl of Absaroka County, Wyo., with a devotion that's steadfast, laconic and sadder-but-wiser (he mourns the recent death of his wife). He is rangy and »

Surprise: Jerry Lewis Still Doesn't Find Women Funny

Cannes, France — Ladies? Don't make him laugh.

Asked who his favorite female comics were Thursday at a Cannes Film Festival press conference, Jerry Lewis listed Cary Grant and Burt Reynolds. He then added: "I don't have any."

In 1998, Lewis famously said that watching women do comedy "sets me back a bit" and that he has trouble with the notion of would-be mothers as comedians.

Asked Thursday if he had changed his mind at all because of performers like Melissa McCarthy and Sarah Silverman, the 87-year-old Lewis said of women performing broad comedy: "I can't see women doing that. It bothers me."

"I cannot sit and watch a lady diminish her qualities to the lowest common denominator," he said. "I just can't do that."

Lewis was in Cannes for the premiere of "Max Rose," a drama directed by Daniel Noah in which Lewis stars as an aging jazz musician.

In her 2011 memoir, »
