Photos: Hillary Clinton Hangs Out With Meryl Streep

2 December 2012 2:16 PM, PST

BFFs? We can dream. But Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton looked pretty chummy on Saturday night.

The Oscar-winning actress and the Secretary of State met up at the Kennedy Center Honors gala, held at the State Department.

According to the AP, Streep used her iPhone to snap a photo of the two powerful women.

Earlier this year, Streep compared herself to the former First Lady.

"I find a lot of similarities," Streep said when introducing Clinton at the Women in the World Summit. "We're roughly the same age, we both have two brothers -- mine are annoying -- we both grew up in middle-class homes with spirited, big-hearted mothers who encouraged us to do something valuable and interesting with our lives. We both went from public high schools to distinguished women's colleges ... We both went on to graduate school at Yale."

LeAnn Rimes And Brandi Glanville's Feud Reignites

2 December 2012 1:33 PM, PST

Looks like these two are no longer playing nice.

After telling The Huffington Post last month that she "genuinely" wants her ex Eddie Cibrian and his new wife LeAnn Rimes "to do well," Brandi Glanville has taken a step back and reignited the feud that erupted last year between her and Rimes.

After Rimes took to Twitter to share her weekend plans with Cibrian and his sons -- Jake, 5, and Mason, 9 -- Glanville got a little annoyed -- and wasn't afraid to unleash her anger on Twitter.

"Flying out with my boys in a few hrs. Love that it's a family tour weekend. It's always more fun when they are with me," Rimes tweeted Nov. 30.

That didn't make Glanville too happy ...

"Someone is trying 2 get under my skin by calling My children "her boys" Sooo transparent! They R My boys, Eddie Boys and ur step-sons... 4 now," Glanville tweeted Dec. 1, obviously referring to Rimes' tweet. »

Brad Pitt's Big Mistake

2 December 2012 1:17 PM, PST

Brad Pitt's latest movie, "Killing Them Softly," isn't exactly killing it at the box office.

Directed by Andrew Dominik ("Chopper"), "Killing Them Softly" has been well-received by critics, but heavily panned by audiences. The movie earned an uncommon F CinemaScore from those that saw it, and brought in $7 million for its opening weekend. This low amount kept "Killing Them Softly" from charting in the top five for the weekend, and made it Brad Pitt's worst live-action wide-release opening.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" continued its box office run, taking the No. 1 spot for the third week in a row. The final "Twilight" film made $17.4 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic gross to $254.6 million. Globally, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" has made over $700 million.

"Skyfall" and "Lincoln" both maintained their spots from last weekend, coming in second and third, respectively. "Skyfall" made »

'Revenge' Winter Finale Scoop

2 December 2012 12:30 PM, PST

Things are heating up in the Hamptons, but a major character won't be around to witness it.

Gabriel Mann, who plays Nolan Ross on "Revenge," is unsure whether or not it's permanent, but someone will be leaving the show tonight after the winter finale.

"It’s always hard to tell with this show if it’s a permanent exit, but we will see one of our major characters have an unceremonious exit from the Hamptons — and I will not even begin to hint at who that is," Mann tells TVline.com.

"We will also see the return of a triangle, but maybe with not the same characters that we’ve seen before," he teases, adding, "that’s not even mentioning Nolan‘s potential triangle."

Now that Nolan's former flame Marco may be back in the picture, things could get messy with his new love interest, Padma.

'Heart of Gold'

2 December 2012 11:48 AM, PST

New York — Neil Young said Sunday that he couldn't see performing in the area devastated by Superstorm Sandy without doing something to help people who were affected by it.

Young and his longtime backing band, Crazy Horse, will hold a benefit concert for the American Red Cross' storm relief effort Thursday at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The New Jersey coastline areas were hit hard by the storm in late October.

People in the New York area who suffered damage in the storm have been supporting him for 40 years, he said.

"I couldn't see coming back here and just playing and have it be business as usual," he said. Young is touring in the area, with concerts scheduled for Monday in Brooklyn and Tuesday in Bridgeport, Conn.

Minimum ticket prices for the standing-room show in Atlantic City will be $75 and $150, although Young notes there's no maximum. He »

Watch: Katt Williams Slaps Target Employee

2 December 2012 11:46 AM, PST

After allegedly leading police on a wild goose chase through the streets of Sacramento, Calif., comedian Katt Williams reportedly walked into a Target and "slapped" an employee in the face.

In footage acquired by TMZ, Williams can be seen arguing with the Target employee before he hits him. The employee is said to have then pulled out his phone to call the cops.

Last Sunday, Williams reportedly got into a spot of trouble with California's state capitol police after he "drove his three-wheeled motorbike on a sidewalk and led police on a chase that was later called off to protect bystanders."

Reuters writes:

Police said Williams, 39, was spotted by an officer from the California Highway Patrol's capitol protection section on Sunday driving a three-wheeled Can-Am motorcycle on a sidewalk near the state capitol building in Sacramento, initiating a chase at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.

Get Ready For Hobbit Week

2 December 2012 10:53 AM, PST

Stephen Colbert is taking his fandom of "Lord of the Rings" to new heights: He's devoting the entire next week of "The Colbert Report" to the upcoming film adaptation of "The Hobbit."

The week beginning December 3 will exclusively feature interviews with actors who appear in the Peter Jackson-directed film, which opens December 15.

Colbert will interview Sir Ian McKellan, Martin Freeman, Peter Jackson and Andy Serkis, in that order, to celebrate the film.

The Comedy Central host has long been public about his devotion to the films. He first became obsessed with the fantasy world created by J.R.R. Tolkien after the unexpected deaths of his father and brothers, and often references the books and movies in his comedy.

In fact, Colbert is even rumored to have filmed a cameo in the upcoming "Hobbit" movie. The cameo is well earned: last month on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," he revealed that he won »

Rapper Mocks 'Old Man' 50 Cent

2 December 2012 10:28 AM, PST

50 Cent is getting a taste of his own medicine.

In 2007, 50 famously bet Kanye West that his album "Curtis" would outsell West's "Graduation." He was so confident that he promised to stop releasing solo albums if West sold more copies then 50 did. It turned out to be a bad bet for 50 as "Graduation" outsold "Curtis." While he didn't release another album right away, 50 Cent dropped "Before I Self-Destruct" in 2009 and will be debuting another album, "Street King Immortal," on Feb. 26, 2013.

Now 50 Cent's own album sales are getting questioned by rapper French Montana.

MTV reports that French Montana tweeted on Friday, "@50cent if u really about Dat life lets drop our album da same day and see who sell more u had your turn old man." The tweet no longer appears on French Montana's Twitter page.

French Montana also criticized 50 for his recent collaboration with Adam Levine and Eminem for his "My Life" single. »

Cher's Political Rant

2 December 2012 7:25 AM, PST

Never one to hide her opinions, Cher took to Twitter on Saturday night to speak out against the war in Afghanistan and the ongoing presence of the United States in the country.

The singer, who identifies as a progressive Independent, has long been vocal about her distaste for the Republican party and former President George W. Bush in particular.

"I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican," Cher said in 2009. "I just can’t figure it. I don’t understand.”

Earlier this fall, Cher used Twitter to blast former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle of Nevada. In 2010, Angle had argued that abortion would be wrong even for a young woman who has been raped by her father, because "two wrongs don't make a right." Angle also said rape victims should be counseled to find alternatives to abortion, and thus make "a lemon situation into lemonade. »

42 Baby Name Ideas From Classic Movies

2 December 2012 7:05 AM, PST

Written by Linda Rosenkrantz for Nameberry

You don’t have to be a rabid movie buff to associate certain names with classic movie stars. For many people, Judy Garland will always be Dorothy, Clark Gable is forever Rhett and Humphrey Bogart lives on as Rick.

But obviously they all inhabited any number of other movie character names throughout their careers, many of which now seem head-scratchingly unlikely. For example, Clark Gable played a character named Candy, Marilyn Monroe was Sugar Kane, Barbara Stanwyck a Sugarpuss, Sophia Loren, Bonbon, and Hedy Lamarr, Sweets.

So here are some iconic stars, and what we consider their two best character names -- in baby name terms -- together with the one that stands out as the most incongruous and the movie in which he/she answered to that name. »
