While viewers are up-to-date with most of the A Song Of Ice And Fire plotlines in Game Of Thrones after Season 5, there are still a few loose ends to tie up. One of which regards House Greyjoy, who've been given the short end of the stick in terms of screentime after their pivotal role in Season 2. A recent casting call seemed to indicate this family would return, and now it appears the HBO show has found an actor to portray one of its most exciting and sinister characters. Fan site Watchers On The Wall are claiming that the part of 'Euron Greyjoy' has been cast, after Danish actor Pilou Asbæk (Borgen) was spotted filming scenes with fellow cast members in Northern Ireland. If this is true, then Euron's arrival should set in motion a number of interesting storylines for next year. Book readers will be well aware of the Crow's »

'Red Tornado' Confirmed To Appear In Supergirl As 'Dr. T.O. Morrow' Is Cast

ComicBook.com has revealed that Iddo Goldberg has joined Supergirl as Dr. T.O. Morrow (yes, that's actually his name), but will we see his creation, the Justice League member better known as Red Tornado? It certainly sounds that way. The official description provided to them by Warner Bros. Television reveals that, "Red Tornado is the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City -- including the people Supergirl cares about most." It's worth noting that in the comics, Morrow is also Red Tornado's creator, but it hasn't been made clear whether Goldberg is playing both characters or just the evil inventor. If it's the latter, casting news for the hero should follow soon. However, it could be that Morrow based his creation's likeness after himself, »

New Spectre Stills; Daniel Craig Says His 'Bond' "Not As Sexist" As Previous Ones

In addition to the stills, we have some quotes from Daniel Craig's recent interview with Esquire Magazine. Word round the campfire is that this might well be Craig's last time in the role of 007, and when asked this outright the actor takes a neutral stance... but doesn't debunk it.  “I really don’t know," he says. "Honestly. I’m not trying to be coy. At the moment I can’t even conceive it.” Craig also comments on this more modern take on the notoriously cold, womanising superspy. “Hopefully, my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as [earlier incarnations]. The world has changed. I am certainly not that person. But he is, and so what does that mean? It means you cast great actresses and make the parts as good as you can for the women in the movies.” We won't mention the "waste of good scotch" scene from Skyfall, then. »

Andrew Garfield Looks Back On The Amazing Spider-man Movies As Being "Like A Prison"

31 August 2015 8:33 PM, PDT

Despite being careful not to talk too much about the behind the scenes issues which plagued both of The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Andrew Garfield continues to reflect on his experience working on those movies, and it really doesn't sound good. In a recent interview with The Playlist to discuss 99 Homes, the British actor discussed the challenges which come with making a movie studio bosses want to ensure has mass appeal. "The pressure to get it right, to please everyone… it's not going to happen...You end up pleasing no one, or everyone just a little bit. Like, ‘Eh, that was good.’ [The films are] mass-marketed, like ‘We want 50-year-old white men to love it, gay teenagers to love it, bigot homophobes in Middle America to love it, 11-year-old girls to love it.’ That's canning Coke."  That a very honest and damning way to talk about the movies, and Garfield went on to »

Oscar Isaac Says Portraying X-men: Apocalypse Villain Is "Basically Playing God"

31 August 2015 8:25 PM, PDT

20th Century Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse is among the many 2016 comic book movies that have recently wrapped principal photography. So, when The Playlist and Paste Magazine caught up with Oscar Isaac in anticipation of his new HBO series Show Me a Hero, the sites asked the Guatemalan actor about his titular supervillain role in the mutant ensemble. "You use different tools, different approaches," said Isaac, when The Playlist asked what he learned from portraying Apocalypse in the upcoming X-Men sequel. "...It was great because there’s an embodiment of such big ideas, you’re not working in the realm of naturalism. And just because something's natural doesn’t mean that it's interesting — and I think Kubrick knew that very well. Sometimes it’s fun to push performance into other places that is not just about the same kind of verité thing. You can go to heightened places in a Greek tragedy »

Kevin Feige And Marvel Studios Break Free Of Marvel And Will Now Report Directly To Disney

31 August 2015 7:57 PM, PDT

Since the release of Iron Man in 2008, Marvel Studios has operated under Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter. However, after what The Hollywood Reporter's sources describe as "several years of frustration," Kevin Feige will now report directly to Disney boss Alan Horn. This is no rumour either, as a Disney spokesperson confirmed the behind the scenes shift in a statement earlier today. "Marvel Studios is taking the next logical step in its integration with The Walt Disney Studios, joining Pixar and Lucasfilm in centralizing many of its film-related functions in Burbank, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito continuing to lead the Marvel Studios team reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn." Tales of just how frugal Perlmutter is are legendary, and as the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets bigger and bigger, it could be that Feige has finally had enough of those kinds of restrictions. »

Michael Shannon Seemingly Confirms 'Doomsday' Will Appear In Batman v Superman

31 August 2015 7:11 PM, PDT

Earlier this month, Michael Shannon told a funny story about getting trapped in a toilet on the set of Batman v Superman because he had "flippers" over his hands. This obviously led to speculation that he must be taking on a motion capture role as Doomsday (as has been rumoured), but the actor is now doing some pretty unconvincing damage control! "I wasn’t there," he claims in an interview with The Daily Beast. "It’s a really awkward situation—I’m in the trailer for a movie that I didn’t work on." Shannon still hasn't seen the trailer, so obviously isn't aware of the fact we've all seen him in the movie; he must have been on set to shoot those scenes as a corpse after all.  Instead, the actor has come up with a ludicrous claim (likely fed to him by the studio) that he does appear, »

Spoilers: 'Batman' And 'The Joker' Return To The Set Of Suicide Squad In New Photos And Video

31 August 2015 6:44 PM, PDT

Suicide Squad has finished principal photography (Jared Leto has even shed his green hair for a cool new shade of red), but the stunt team is still hard at work as Batman, The Joker, and Harley Quinn have all been spotted in Toronto. They were shooting what looks like the end of that action sequence we got photos and videos for earlier this year, so there are obviously some spoilers here! As the site describes it, "Batman breaks through the top of The Joker's car, as The Joker and Harley Quinn sit inside. As the car goes plunging into the water, Batman repels off just in time."   These will likely be the last set photos we see for Suicide Squad, and it's almost a shame that they contain what appears to be a pretty major reveal. Of course, we don't really know how this whole sequence fits into the movie, »
