'Electro' Featured In Two New Stills From The Amazing Spider-man 2

29 December 2013 3:08 PM, PST

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp. Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, »

Editorial: Comic Book Movies & The Box Office

29 December 2013 12:36 PM, PST

We've all seen them. Or even been a part of them - debates about which Cbm is better. "The Dark Knight" vs "Marvel's The Avengers" vs "Man of Steel" and so on. You have your DC fans and Marvel fans and even "Nolanites". These debates go on for pages on some sites. Some fans exchange mature barbs while others resort to name calling. But often times they boil down to one thing - the box office. How much did the film make? After all, if a film grossed a billion dollars worldwide, that must make it the better movie, right? Let's look at that starting with... Opening Weekend Fans often associate the quality of a film with how big it opens its first weekend. As if opening huge is a testament to just how fantastic it is. But that's not the case at all. How could it be - the film hadn't opened yet. »

Professor X's Walking in Dofp & X-men: The Last Stand Explained?

29 December 2013 12:25 PM, PST

This picture above is one of the main reasons fans began to become a bit skeptical of just why on earth Professor X was not only seen standing next to Wolverine and Magneto but why he was "standing" there period. Well, I think I've discovered a pretty easy answer as of why this may seem so and that very answer is nothing other than his mechanical leg braces. Many huge fans of the X-Men comics may already be familiar with the 1968 X-Men issue #42 titled "The Death of Professor X" which features Professor X's very first death in which his mechanical leg races make their first appearance. Let's take a quick look... I really don't want to go into the entire story involving why professor X was masked and etc because it honestly strays away from our focus of next years Days of Future Past film but if you all would »

Poll: Which Other Jl Member Would You Like To See In Man Of Steel 2?

29 December 2013 7:24 AM, PST

There may not be any more members of the Justice League popping up in the "Batman Vs. Superman" themed sequel to Man Of Steel, but given the fact that Wonder Woman is appearing, and the whispers from several reliable sources that the likes of The Flash may also zip onto the big screen, I'd say the probability of at least a cameo is pretty high. There may even be more extra characters of course, but for the purposes of this poll lets say there's only room for one -- who gets that spot? Obviously there are dozens of DC superheroes who've been League members at some time of another, but I think we can safely assume someone like The Question won't be making his debut this time around...so we'll focus on the big-name players. Vote below and then sound off in the usual place. »

Katie Cassidy Talks Arrow Season 2

29 December 2013 3:40 AM, PST

Speaking to Inside Pulse, the lovely Katie Cassidy touched on Arrow season 2 and what's in store for her character, Laurel Lance. Katie also briefly touches on her upcoming film, an adaptation of the graphic novel The Scribbler which co-stars Michelle Trachtenberg and Eliza Dushku. "I don't know. I guess there's that possibility but in the sense of you have "Oliver and you have Tommy and 'Oliver and Laurel' and I think at the end of the day, Oliver and Laurel are meant to be. They're each others 'ideally' first and hopefully at some point, each others lasts. No one can really ever compare to Oliver the way that Laurel sees him and I think Oliver feels the same way about Laurel. So Felicity may be there, it may be a fling, I have no idea, but you know, 'Bring it, Felicity!' [laughs]. Laurel has got »

The Amazing Spider-man 2: 'Shocker' And 'Sin-Eater' Teased In Latest Daily Bugle Viral

28 December 2013 5:06 PM, PST

A shocking Midtown bank robbery was foiled yesterday by Spider-Man. New York’s superhuman vigilante caught the mechanically augmented robber, suspected in two previous bank heists, as he fled the scene with the stolen loot. Police arrived on the scene as Spider-Man finished webbing up the suspect, who was arrested and later identified as disgruntled engineer, Herman Schultz. Schultz created wrist-gauntlets that are capable of emitting a vibratory wave of pressure that proved capable of tearing apart a four-foot thick steel vault. NYPD Special Crimes Unit Detective Stan Carter stated that Schultz had officially been remanded into custody and is being held at the Ravencroft Institute pending his preliminary hearing. When asked how a “disgruntled engineer” could create such dangerous weapons, Carter said, “Shocking, right? All that genius but no escape plan.” So, that's Shocker confirmed for this universe then (and it sounds like they're going for the Ultimate version), but what about Sin-Eater? »

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie took $10.3 million for an estimated three day total of over $28 million. That gives the Disney animated movie a domestic cume of $229.8 million, although Peter Jackson's follow-up to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey took $10.1 million on Friday for a weekend total of upwards of $30 million. The sequel passed $500 million worldwide on Thursday, while 47 Ronin continues to struggle as analysts suggest a loss of $175 million for Universal. What did you guys watch this weekend? »

Editorial: The Hypocrisy Of Marvel Studios Fans

28 December 2013 2:01 PM, PST

Watch the Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer again. Notice the multiple helicarriers? Notice the Traskelion? These things aren’t in the 616 universe. They’re from the Ultimate Universe not many people read. But that’s okay. Because it is Marvel Studios and we can be sure they are doing everything right with the characters. Watch the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer again. Why Is Rhino A Mech? Because he’s like that in the Ultimate Comics…Why Is Electro Blue? Because he’s like that in the Ultimate Comics…Why Is Green Goblin Harry Osborn? Because he is the Green Goblin eventually, although, not first. Still, at least he was the Goblin, unlike Aldrich Killian, who, by the way, never had a bad bone in his body in the comics. Every differentiation that Marvel takes is fine. That is okay because it is Marvel Studios doing it and everyone loves »

Rumor: Is An ‘X-men Vs. Fantastic Four Movie In the Works?

28 December 2013 11:51 AM, PST

Ever since the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, major movie studios such as Fox, Sony and WB/DC are now trying to establish their own shared universes. It should come to no surprise since Marvel's The Avengers was a box office smash and was critically successful. Now this 'Rumour' should be taken with a huge grain of salt. After the Disney's purchase of Marvel, Fox announced that a Fantastic Four reboot was in the works and Josh Trank is signed on to direct with Matthew Vaughn producing. The report from Motely suggests a cross over between the X-men and the new Fantastic Four reboot is in the works and it will be based on the 1987 four-issue comic book titled Fantastic Four vs. X-men. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Fox has made great films with the first X-Men, X-Men 2 and First Class being good »

Denzel Washington Considered For Green Lantern In Batman Vs. Superman?

27 December 2013 10:16 PM, PST

Over the past several weeks, professional movie scoopers have been warning of misinformation being leaked out from Warner Bros. in the hopes of finding their mole(s). Perhaps this latest rumor from Nuke The Fridge is just that. Or, perhaps it's real. Who knows. According to our source, the “Training Day” actor is being considered for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart instead. If this proves to be true, Green Lantern will join an ever growing list of members from DC’s Justice League of America that also include Superman, Batman and Wonder Women. What's interesting, is that Denzel was involved in another Batman Vs. Superman rumor just several weeks ago. Think McFly Think reported that Denzel was up for the role of Lex Luthor. If Denzel does sign on, he'll be joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Gal Gadot »
