The Dark Knight Rises To Feature Over An Hour Of IMAX Footage

22 April 2012 1:13 PM, PDT

When Christopher Nolan agreed to helm 2008's The Dark Knight, part of the deal with Warner Bros. was that they allowed him to shoot with IMAX (there was ultimately 40 minutes of such footage in the completed film). However, The Wall Street Journal reveals that The Dark Knight Rises will contain the most IMAX footage Ever - more than an hour's worth. IMAX apparently have yet to commit to any other films this August and September as they're planning on giving the third and final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise as much time on their screens as possible. The film will in fact be screened at 100 locations across the Us. "I felt if we could have one of those in every major city, we could justify the difficulty of going to a lot of trouble to shoot this way. You will see a crisper image," said the director. "There »

The Lone Ranger Star Johnny Depp Explains Why Tonto Has A Dead Bird On His Head

22 April 2012 12:54 PM, PDT

Ever since producer Jerry Bruckheimer posted the first images of Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as Tonto, the internet has been buzzing. Most of the negative buzz has to do with the unsightly dead bird resting on top of Tonto's head. Also, most people are starting to tire of Johnny Depp's obvious fetish for white makeup. This will be the umpteenth time he has looked like he rubbed his face across a chalkboard. Now, Entertainment Weekly has been able to sit down with the star and ask him about his unusual look for Tonto. “I’d actually seen a painting by an artist named Kirby Sattler, and looked at the face of this warrior and thought: That’s it. The stripes down the face and across the eyes … it seemed to me like you could almost see the separate sections of the individual, if you know what I mean. »

Rumor: The Dark Knight Rises Flawless, Surmounts The Dark Knight

22 April 2012 8:20 AM, PDT

A "reliable source" for Cosmic Book News is reporting that his friend has seen a rough cut of The Dark Knight Rises and calls it, "a flawless movie." And that is some high praise since the supposed viewer didn't even get to see all the CGI shots completed. It is one of those films that leaves you on the edge of your seat much like The Dark Knight did, in that it feels like a rollercoaster, like you have no idea where the story will go. I have been told a summary of the movie, and I definitely don't want to spoil it, but if you think you know where it is heading, think again! Catwoman is more in line with the comics than people think despite her not having a whip or cowl. It's more character driven and less about looks. Bane is so frickin' ruthless it's bad, like »

Is This The Official Run-time For The Dark Knight Rises?

22 April 2012 6:05 AM, PDT

There have been lots of rumors, speculation and guesses as to the run-time of Christopher Nolan's Tdkr. Many fans assumed that it would be at least as long if not longer than the previous movie, but we haven't had anything concrete yet. Now, the Australian Event Cinemas website appear to have revealed the official running time in their synopsis for the movie.. So, 2 hours 40 mins. Just slightly longer than The Dark Knight which clocked in at roughly 2 hours 33 mins. If of course, this is accurate. With the new trailer confirmed to be screening before The Avengers, it's reasonable to assume the run-time info also shipped out to theaters with that. Still, if you read the synopsis below, it seems to be a be a new one - and a made up/paraphrased one at that! They may also be guessing at the run-time, so don't take this as »

Box Office: Battleship Passes $100 Million Worldwide

21 April 2012 2:15 PM, PDT

Deadline reports that Universal Pictures and director Peter Berg's Battleship has now crossed $100M internationally and looks set to take reach $126.7M this weekend. While this is of course good news for the studio, the sci-fi blockbuster is under pressure to do as well as possible in the 50 territories it has so far opened in as the rumoured budget of $250M and negative reviews from critics may mean it struggles to make a splash when it finally opens in the Us. However, after being released in another 24 territories this weekend, it should gross an additional $56M. You can read my 2* review of Battleship by clicking Here. »

Everyone loves Twitter fan account so a few months ago I took it upon myself to create an account for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I wanted the account to have a partial continuity with the original comics but not to be completely tied to it either. Now with no further ado have a sample of what Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been tweeting... Wasp: That’s right yours truly thought up the Most Awesome name for a team: The Avengers!
