Fantastic Four And The Rest Of This Year's Biggest Box Office Flops Revealed

It's been an interesting summer blockbuster season, and while we all now begin turning our attention towards Fall and Winter releases like Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which releases crashed and burned over the past few months? Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we have the summer's five biggest flops, and Fantastic Four currently places as the second biggest failure behind only Tomorrowland. It's a little disappointing to see The Man From U.N.C.L.E. on here as it's by far the best of the bunch, but you have to believe that Fox are seriously reconsidering moving ahead with Fantastic Four 2 after losing a whopping $100 million on the first instalment. Even bringing someone like Bryan Singer in to direct wouldn't make a follow-up any less of a risk... Tomorrowland Budget: $190 million Global gross: $208.4 million Expected loss: $120 million-$150 million   Fantastic Four Budget: $125 million Global gross: $146.7 million Expected loss: $80 million-$100 million   Pixels »

Tom Hardy Has A Very Unique Way Of Solving The Batman v Superman Debate

Tom Hardy has famously already starred in one DC Comics adaptation as 'Bane' in The Dark Knight Rises, and came very close to doing so again as 'Rick Flag' in Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, scheduling issues forced him to drop out of the latter - although he's since signed on to produce (and maybe star in) a separate DC/Vertigo movie in 100 Bullets. But will the talented British actor ever join the Dceu? While talking to MTV about his role(s) in next month's Legend, Hardy was asked if he'd be open to returning to the world of DC comic book movies. He seemed very open to the idea - and (in addition to inquiring about the George Miller/Man Of Steel 2 rumor) he even had a few helpful suggestions about to how he'd settle a fight between the comics company's two most iconic superheroes... Obviously his reponse is tongue-in-cheek, »

Steve Austin Wasn't Impressed By Arrow's Stephen Amell Wrestling At Summerslam

For someone who's never wrestled before, Stephen Amell did a pretty damn good job at SummerSlam last month. He clearly made an effort to look competent in the ring, got pretty beaten up, and unlike a lot of celebrity guests the WWE ropes in, he didn't make the product look like a joke (though neither did the brilliant Jon Stewart to be fair). One person who doesn't agree with that is Stone Cold Steve Austin though, and talking on his podcast this week, he made his distaste of celebrity angles like this one very clear. "I just don’t like the celebrities coming in there, the squared circle, and being able to compete at any level with the guys in the business. You’ve got to protect some of the integrity of the business. I don’t care what day and age, what year it is." That's an understandable argument, »

Chris Evans Reveals If He Would Extend His Marvel Contract Post-avengers: Infinity War

It remains to be seen whether or not Marvel has plans for Chris Evans' Captain America after he appears in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War event, but the actor recently admitted to feeling "almost" terrified now that his six-pic contract is nearing fulfillment. Well, even though Evans has previously expressed desires to pursue other filmmaking endeavors beyond the Marvel Universe, the actor has now revealed that he is willing to renew, or extend, his contract with Marvel Studios. “Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me,” said Evans. “I’ve never had such a relationship where you have such—I mean look at my resume, I’m used to being on set being like, ‘Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?’ Marvel just can’t stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It’s wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it’s like a playground as an actor. »

Harry Potter's Freddie Stroma Joins Game Of Thrones Season 6 As 'Dickon Tarly'

Dickon - you just know that name is going to be well suited! According to EW, Freddie Stroma (best known for his role on Lifetime’s acclaimed dramedy UnREAL) will be playing Sam Tarly's little brother in season 6 of HBO's Game Of Thrones. All we know of this guy comes from what Sam tells Jon in George R.R. Martin's source novels: he's more physically capable, and was favored by their pretty awful sounding father Lord Randyll Tarly - who we will no doubt be meeting next year along with Dickon. Tarly Sr. went so far as to threaten Sam's life if he didn't join the Night's Watch and allow his younger brother to become the heir... so it's a safe bet there'll be a bit of tension when they all meet again. You can see Stroma next in Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and Game Of Thrones »

Spoilers: Marvel Reveals Identity Of The Totally Awesome Hulk

In recent years, it's become apparent that Marvel can't find a creative direction for The Hulk which works. He's tried to stay angry, been split from an insane Bruce Banner, and even become an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., so what's next? Well, now he's going to become, er, "Totally Awesome". That won't involve Bruce Banner though, as Entertainment Weekly reveals that Amadeus Cho is the new Hulk. Greg Pak and Frank Cho (an undeniably awesome creative team) will be working on the series, and Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso had this to say about why they've gone for that character:  As a former Hulk editor, I just felt like…we’ve seen Banner’s story for so long, and the burden that he carries, with the weight of the Hulk on his shoulders. Perhaps the most interesting thing is to see how someone else shoulders that burden, »

Chris Evans "Almost Terrified" To Think About Saying Goodbye To Captain America Role

Next year's highly-anticipated Captain America: Civil War will be the fifth (or sixth) time Chris Evans will have portrayed the shield-slinging super soldier on the big-screen. And because his six-picture deal with Marvel Studios will be fulfilled when he returns in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, which starts shooting next year, the actor recently admitted to Entertainment Tonight that he does feel a bit frantic about saying goodbye to Captain America and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “It’s almost terrifying to think about these being done,” said Chris Evans, while promoting his directorial debut Before We Go, which he credits Marvel for the opportunity. “It always feels so good to kind of wrap and just say, ‘Alright, one more down.’ But it's also kind of like high school in a sense. You keep looking to when you're going to be done, and we're almost done now, and you're not quite »

Stephen Rider Joins The Cast Of Daredevil's Second Season In Key Recurring Role

We've had a lot of Luke Cage casting news this week, but Daredevil - which is currently shooting in New York - has also added another actor today. That's Stephen Rider (Lee Daniels' The Butler), and he's set to play Blake Tower in season two of the Netflix series. Who? Well, Deadline describes him as a "District Attorney for New York City who helps Charlie Cox’s Daredevil — a lawyer in his civilian identity as Matt Murdock — with information to help track down and capture criminals." In the comics, he's been involved with stories involving Captain America, Daredevil, Misty Knight, and She-Hulk, but nothing major. That will obviously give the showrunners a lot of creative freedom with what they do with his character. This casting also seems to indicate that season two of Daredevil will focus more on Matt's legal career, something which was largely missing from the first batch »
