First Wave Of Dracula Untold Reviews Are Pretty Vlad

Hollywood Reporter: "Genre fans will no doubt chafe at the film’s PG-13 demureness" "Making his feature debut, director Gary Shore displays little flair for the action sequences, with such stylistic devices as using Vlad’s Pov for several scenes adding to the overall cheesiness. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless’ muddled screenplay seems so intent on providing a Maleficent-style revisionist spin that it’s hard to believe that this heroic and sympathetic figure will ever wind up tormenting the nightmares of children for centuries to come." - Frank Scheck The Wrap: "Far too restrained and tasteful" "For about the first hour of its running time, “Dracula Untold” is far too restrained and tasteful, and it certainly suffers from its tediously noble hero; it's well made but fatally lacking in thrills or excitement. There are some modest battles here and there, but only Gadon's lovely face seems truly worthy of the »

Batman: Arkham Knight Developer Says Aim Is To Make The "Ultimate Batman Simulator"

It's been a while since we've heard anything substantial about Batman: Arkham Knight, but IGN caught up with Guy Perkins of Rocksteady at last week's Egx convention where they spoke about the massively anticipated game. Perkins talked about taking the series from relatively linear gameplay in Arkham Asylum to more expansive environments and stories with Arkham City, and even moreso in Knight. "I think we’ve always taken pride in the stories we tell," he explained. "We try to create that very cinematic story-telling experience through the game. Obviously Asylum was the starting point for that, but the intimate cat-and-mouse gameplay between the Joker and Batman really demanded it took place in the pressure cooker of the Asylum. So that had its place for that story, but then we took that into the open world to give players the next piece of the Batman armour as it were, which is »

The Jonathan Liebesman-directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles provided some decent competition to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy in early August. Paramount has already announced a sequel to be released on June 3, 2016. Ant-man: Hank Pym's Company Logo/Name Revealed

Ever since filming for Ant-Man moved from San Francisco to Atlanta last month, the chance of getting set photos, or anything remotely interesting from the Marvel production, has been slim to none. It even seems Marvel has put an end to actress Evangeline Lilly's subtle Ant-Man posts on Instagram. However, I just stumbled across a somewhat interesting post on the photo-sharing service which features one of the movie extras dressed in his uniform. While the photo's caption reveals the uploader, whose name I'll keep anonymous, is playing a Security Guard, his cap reveals he'll be employed at none other than Pym Technologies. Check out the logo below! So, instead going with the simple Pym Particles, like in the comics, Hank Pym's (Michael Douglas) company name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be Pym Technologies. The name-change probably comes from the inclusion of Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), who runs Cross Technological Enterprises in the comics, »

Ben Affleck On The Pressure Of Playing The Caped Crusader In Batman v Superman

In a recent interview with Variety, the trade asked Ben Affleck what he considers to be the bigger challenge: making sure that an adaptation of a beloved novel like Gone Girl does the source material justice or taking on a lead role in what they describe as the "greatest comic book franchise ever". Here's what he told them. "Probably the comicbook franchise, if only because Batman has been around since the 1930s and a fixed part of American culture. But, anytime you build a character when the audience has a firm belief on how it should be, like “Fifty Shades” or “Star Wars” … It can be an asset and a challenge. Anyone who did it would face that challenge. The truth is, it all melts away once people see the movie." Based on the borderline ridiculous reaction to Affleck being cast in the role, you can understand his position here, »

Update: Wolverine Star Kevin Durand Being Eyed To Play 'Negan' In The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead comic book series have been wondering when and if Negan would appear in the TV show, and it sounds as if it will be sooner rather than later! According to Nuke The Fridge, Kevin Durand revealed that AMC have approached him to play the foul mouthed and sadistic villain in a recent conference call promoting The Strain. The actor is quoted as saying, "I’ve had a lot of people with The Walking Dead talk to me, mentioned that they see me for a character named ‘Negan,’ but I haven’t read the comic." Now, this isn't the most reliable of sites and they're quick to point out that they are the first report this news. Are they twisting his words (after all, it could be that Durand was referring to fans rather than those working on the series) or have they come across a huge scoop? »

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Linked To Rise In Pet Turtle Sales & Smuggling

The Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie grossed $187M at the domestic box office and an additional $154M at the foreign box office. The film's success has feuled an explosion in sales of pet turtles. The CBC is reporting, sales of pet turtles has risen 20% sinceTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released in theaters this past August. Steve Mark, who worked with the province's parks department told CBC, "Kids, with their imagination, are thinking if they got four of them maybe they'll turn into the ninja turtles." Mark saw the same boost in demand during the 1990's when the first the first film adaptation was released. On the downside, this rise in demand has led to a spike in illegal smuggling of the creatures. Mark believe 9 out of 10 turtles found in pet stores were acquired illegally. Corey Stoll Thinks Ant-man Could Beat The Hulk; Says 'Yellowjacket' Is Not Really A Villain

In a Clevver Movies video interview that was overlooked during the San Diego Comic-Con madness, actor Corey Stoll had revealed why he's excited to be playing Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, in Marvel's Ant-Man movie. Within that explanation, the actor also insists Ant-Man could defeat the likes of the Incredible Hulk. When asked which of Yellowjacket's powers is he most looking forward to playing with, Corey Stoll answered "shrinking" without any hesitation. "It's so weird...if somebody were to [ask] 'What [super]power would you want?' you wouldn't say, 'I'd like to be able to shrink down to the size of an ant.' That seems like being the opposite of a superhero, but when you actually think about all the things you could do if you were that small,  and you retained your fullsize strength, you would be sort of unbeatable. Like, I think the Ant-Man could beat the Hulk. He »

Miles Teller Talks The Fantastic Four 'Differences' And Potential Superhero Saturation

When Vulture caught up with Miles Teller at a Whiplash screening last night, the actor promised that Fox's Fantastic Four reboot, in which he plays Mr. Fantastic, will be “different in every way” compared to the original series. He continued, “All those actors were a lot older, their characters were in different places. The tone of this film is completely different: We don’t have Michael Chiklis in a big Styrofoam thing, and I think that [a more grounded approach] is what people are into — X-Men: First Class is doing that. You’re dealing with these characters but you’re making them real people in how they exist day-to-day. People wanted it to be taken more seriously than the kind of Dick Tracy, kitschy, overly comic-book world.” When asked if he's worried about superhero movie saturation when Marvel's First Family returns in 2015, Teller said, “At the end of the day, it depends on the »

New Look At Amy Adams As Batman v Superman's 'Lois Lane' May Reveal Huge Spoiler

As Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently being shot in Detroit, we're going to go ahead and guess that it probably isn't doubling for Smallville, but Man of Steel star Amy Adams definitely looks a little bit country when she was spotted between takes on set recently! It appears as if these photos may have been taken at the same place that rundown manor is, a location which many believe to be Wayne Manor after a trailer for Alfred Pennyworth was spotted there.  But wait a second! If you take a look at one of the images below, you can see that Lois is wearing what appears to be an engagement ring. The site says that these photos were taken beween scenes, and I'm not overly familiar with Adams' personal life, so...is she engaged to Clark Kent?! Could Lois be undercover? Gotham Ratings Slip Slightly During Second Week But Batman Prequel Still Going Strong

With shows like Castle, The Big Bang Theory and WWE Raw all vying for the attention of television viewers last night, Gotham continues to do well suffering a drop of only 13% (though some sites say it is was low as 11% or 12%). This is considered "standard second-week slippage" according to Entertainment Weekly, and though the Network would liked to have seen a great retention of viewers, this is by no means a bad result. Those DVR figures for the series premiere last week showed what a difference thy can make too. Total viewership was 7.3 million viewers, 2.8 adults 18-49 rating, and it's worth noting that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. suffered a second episode drop of a whopping 34% last year, so Gotham is doing just fine! Gotham Season 1, Episode 2 "Selina Kyle" - The Breakdown

This second episode took more than half of its time to finally begin focusing on Selina Kyle. It also didn't really focus on anything other than her experience hiding from the Dollmakers henchmen. There wasn't any real background on her, save but a small amount that was thrown into the episode. The gist of it about a mother who is "out there somewhere," The episode fixated early on (mostly) toward Fish Mooney, followed by more bickering between Gordon and Bullock. We got more background for Pengion than we did for anyone else with a visit to his mother but the overall focus of the episode did not come into play until near the end.  This episode also introduced an old villain, The Dollmaker, only through a few henchmen and then beat us over the head with an Easter Egg attached to the plot, which was originally subtle (seemingly)--as an »
