Marvel Kills Fantastic Four Actors in Punished Comic Book

Marvel would love to get back the film rights to its superheroes, but it may be a while before 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures let the rights revert back. So, in a way, it helps Marvel if films like "Spider-Man" and "X-Men" fail. It was recently reported that Marvel decided to cancel the "Fantastic Four" comic books, likely to hurt the popularity of the characters and the box office results of Fox's upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot. And now, we have a look at the new issue of Marvel's "Punisher" comic book, which features characters who look exactly like Miles Teller, Jamie Bell and Kate Mara, the actors in the reboot. Ridley Scott Explains Why He Hired White Actors for Exodus: Gods and Kings

One question that keeps coming up regarding Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" is why are white actors playing Egyptian characters, like Joel Edgerton as Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II. In a new interview with Scott, Variety brought up the question again. The director replied: "I can't mount a film of this budget, where I have to rely on tax rebates in Spain, and say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such. I'm just not going to get it financed. So the question doesn't even come up." That's a very direct reply, but is also a very honest one. To reach the widest audience and to secure an investment that is likely over $100 million, studios must get the most popular actors. And in this case, those actors happen to be Edgerton and Christian Bale. »
