19 June 2013 6:16 PM, PDT

Actor James Gandolfini has died. The 51 year old veteran, who won both the Screen Actors Guild and Primetime Emmy Award three times for his portrayal of troubled New Jersey crime boss Tony Soprano in HBO's hit series The Sopranos (TV), reportedly suffered a heart attack while vacationing in Italy on Wednesday. Gandolfini appeared in dozens of other films such as True Romance (1993), Get Shorty (1995), Terminal Velocity (1994), The Juror (1996), and last year's Zero-Dark Thirty (2012), but it was his groundbreaking role as Tony Soprano that will remain his legacy. Entertainment Weekly cited him as the 42nd greatest TV icon of all time, and in 2005, TV Guide ranked him at #28 on it's "50 Sexiest Stars of All Time" list. Aside from acting, Gandolfini produced various films and documentaries, including Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq, in which he interviewed 10 injured Iraq war veterans in 2010 about the challenges they face integrating back into society and family life. »

With the stellar success of this past weekend's Spring Awakening Music Festival, the city of Chicago has gained some serious Edm cred. The three day event, organized by React Presents, reportedly drew crowds in excess of 30,000 each day, making it the largest dance festival in the Midwest. It follows the Electric Daisy Festival (North America's single largest dance music festival and event) which was held last month at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Il. This weekend's Spring Awakening generated it's own charge of electricity, however, with all-star headliners like Calvin Harris, Bassnectar, Moby and Chi-town's own Krewella entertaining the masses on "da Main Stage" in Soldier Field. Three additional stages were also added outside the venue to accommodate the talent run- off. Other artists on the weekend bill included Nero, Nicky Romero, Bingo Players, Wolfgang Gartner, Dirty South, Zedd, and Carnage - who emerged as one of the crowd's favorites. »
