White Collar's Tim Dekay Joins Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As Agent Ward's Brother

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is getting a new cast member, and it's a character previously mentioned in conversation. Zap2It brings word this afternoon that "White Collar" star Tim Dekay has joined the series as Senator Maynard Ward, the older brother of Brett Dalton's Agent Grant Ward. Ward previously mentioned his abusive older brother in ab episode of the series and now we'll get to see just how nasty he is. Dekay will make his debut on the series in the sixth episode of Season 2, titled "A Fractured Rose." »

Netflix and Arad Animation Announce Original Animated Series Kong - King of the Apes

Netflix and 41 Entertainment today announced Kong - King of the Apes, an original animated TV series for kids from Executive Producer Avi Arad. Arad has been a producer of iconic superhero stories like "Spider-Man" franchise movies, the "X-Men" franchise movies, the "Iron-Man" films, and The Incredible Hulk. He has also executive produced kids TV with the popular Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures series which began in 2013. Netflix members around the world will be introduced to Kong first through a full length feature film that will be followed by 12 half hour episodes beginning in 2016. »

Paramount Home Media Distribution announced today that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be arrive on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, DVD and VOD on December 16. The movie arrives three weeks early on Digital HD November 25. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay, the film stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub. »

Yvvette Nicole Brown Will Not Return for Community Season Six

Go ahead and say it: "It's October already?" 2014 seems to be flying by and the fall movie season is already into its second month where we're likely to get a bunch of strong awards contenders going by previous years. In the past, October has also been a month where the box office would tend to slow down even more, or at least that used to be the case. Before 2000, not a single movie opened over $30 million and since 2010, we've had three movies open over $50 million. With that in mind, October is no longer the dumping ground it used to be, although six of the top 10 opening movies were sequels, something to bear in mind.

We don't have a sequel this weekend, as much as a spin-off movie from one of 2013's biggest hits, but we also have an adaptation of one of 2012's biggest bestselling novels. One's a horror movie »

Production Begins on A Monster Calls, Starring Liam Neeson

Production has begun on A Monster Calls, the new film from director Juan Antonio Bayona, Goya Award-winning director of The Impossible. Participant Media and River Road Entertainment are financing the Apaches Entertainment production, in association with Telecinco Cinema and La Trini Films. The film, adapted by Patrick Ness from his award-winning children.s fantasy novel, will be released by Focus Features domestically, Universal Pictures International for its theatrical and home entertainment release in Spain, and Lionsgate International is handling foreign sales throughout the rest of the world. »

Dominic Cooper to Return as Howard Stark in Marvel's Agent Carter

Focus Features Acquires Alan Rickman's A Little Chaos

Focus Features announced today that they have acquired North American distribution rights to A Little Chaos, directed by Alan Rickman from a screenplay he wrote with Alison Deegan and Jeremy Brock. The company also acquired distribution rights to the film, which is financed by Lionsgate UK and BBC Films, in Scandinavia. The romantic drama stars Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci, Danny Webb and Rickman himself. »
