Rebecca Romijn and Jon Tenney Talk King & Maxwell Chemistry
2 hours ago
In the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in midtown Manhattan, Rebecca Romijn is waiting for her costar, Jon Tenney, to arrive. She places a playfully brusque reminder call to his cell, then declares with a good-natured sigh, "He's probably upstairs blowing out his hair." And there you have it: The secret sauce in King & Maxwell, this summer's new procedural about two Washington, D.C.-based former Secret Service agents-turned-private eyes. The case of the week is secondary only to the playful rapport between the two leads. We sat down with the pair to investigate their spark.

The Monday Playlist: Siberia vs. Dome, Carson on TCM, Gideon's Army on HBO
2 hours ago
For many a new show, airing on NBC is its own form of being stranded in Siberia. And so it is with Siberia, a clunky new thriller in the guise of a reality-adventure competition show — take all of the we're-not-here-to-make-friends clichés and add violent mysterious death, shot in a Blair Witch Project-meets-Survivor style. This weird drama/reality hybrid — not as silly as ABC's Whodunnit?, but just as unconvincing — has the terrible luck to arrive on the scene going head to head (Monday, 10/9c) with CBS's Under the Dome, a week after the Stephen King project opened to blockbuster ratings.

Live From the Artists Den Returns for a Sixth Season of Musical Intimacy
2 hours ago
The PBS concert series Live From the Artists Den is brilliant in its simplicity — matching compelling musicians with equally captivating performance spaces that give fans a sense of jewel-box intimacy all too rare in today's arena- and festival-based pop-music marketplace.
The concept originated in the San Francisco living room of executive producer Mark Lieberman, who went on to mount concerts in neglected warehouses and venerable old churches, discovering what he calls an "exciting alchemy between artist and place." Since then, Artists Den has featured such inspired pairings as Kid Rock at Graceland, Robert Plant at Nashville's War Memorial and Elvis Costello at the New York Public Library. "Every day, we all walk by some of the greatest treasures in our cities," Lieberman says, "and we never go in."

Question: I, like many others, read the novel Under the Dome and was sorely disappointed with the ending. I read an article about changes that are coming to the TV version. I was glad about that and am now going to give it a try. But I also read that it may become a series instead of a 13-episode miniseries. Is that true? I'd much rather this be a miniseries as opposed to a series lasting multiple seasons. The story doesn't really lend itself well to playing out over several years. Do you know if it will continue past 13 episodes? — Beth

Keck's Exclusives: Castle's Stana Katic Weighs In On Beckett's Decision
5 hours ago
Castle fans have to wait until fall to find out if Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) chooses a marriage proposal from Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) over an enticing offer to join the FBI in Washington, D.C. But Katic is clear on what she hopes Beckett does. "If she drops the FBI gig, she's a loser," she says. "This is a modern woman's story, and I don't want to send the message that a woman has to choose love over a career. New York and D.C. are not that far apart, and Rick's a millionaire. They can travel. I think it would really be a big disservice to the character to create a job opportunity like this and let it peter out."
