Watch The Hysterical Love Actually Spoof That SNL Had To Cut

Last weekend.s Saturday Night Live featured an array of Christmas sketches including the host, Amy Adams. And as it goes, some sketches make the cut to be shown on air, and some only go so far as dress rehearsal. But thankfully, SNL posted one of their unaired sketches that is just too good to miss. Watch their hysterical spoof of the cue-card scene from the Christmas-classic, Love Actually: Nothing says Christmas like rewatching the famous British romantic comedy, Love Actually. With that time of the year upon us, the film will fill up thousands of TV and computer screens to watch a star-studded cast feel Christmas in their toes. So of course, SNL took the opportunity to remake one of the more memorable scenes in the movie. Before Andrew Lincoln was killing walkers on The Walking Dead, he was a baby-faced sweetheart, confessing his love to his best »

Wait, Did George Clooney Lie About Circulating A Petition To The Studios?

About a week ago, George Clooney had claimed that the big names in Hollywood were only hurting the recent Sony scandal by not helping to prevent it. When Sony decided to pull The Interview from theaters, Clooney attempted to be a voice of reason by creating a petition with his agent to stand strong against the hacking and sent it to all of the big studios and executives in the entertainment industry. Or so he claims. Because recent news is proving Clooney.s story to be a big lie. Representatives from five studios have spoken, and say that they never even received the petition Clooney claims to have sent. In a recent interview with Deadline, Clooney claimed that his peers in the industry were basically chickening-out. He read a petition that he insisted his agent had sent to all of the studios, networks and businesses that have a voice in »

Get Fired Up About Doctor Strange With This Badass Picture

With production on Doctor Strange not likely to start until the back-end of 2015, it will probably be a while before we actually get to see Benedict Cumberbatch in costume as the titular sorcerer supreme. That fact is not stopping the vivid imaginations of fans, however, which is why we're already seeing amazing fan art like what is featured in the Tweet below: "Strange but not a stranger" - Talking Heads pic.twitter.com/30lPiwfGhk. Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) December 22, 2014 As you may have noticed, this cool bit of art was actually posted by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson himself - but just in case you got too excited and started thinking it was official Marvel art, the filmmaker sent out an immediate follow-up message to prevent any confusion: Last tweet is online fan art, not official. I have no idea who made it.— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) December 22, 2014 While the artwork »

The Interview Has Already Been Illegally Downloaded A Stupid Number Of Times

The Interview's rocky road to distribution has finally come to somewhat of an end, thanks to the limited theatrical and VOD platform that Sony has engaged in to bring the film to the American public. Of course, it has potentially opened up a whole new can of worms in the relationship between Sony - which is just trying to capture the momentum of the public consciousness in an effort to recoup the investment they made in the film; and the major theater chains, who have been out of the limited release. It will be interesting to see how the platform works out for the studio, but certainly not helping anything is the large number of people who are illegally downloading the Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy. As of 9am Est this morning, Variety has reported that 430,000 high-quality, pirated copies of The Interview have been downloaded from online sites. The »

Why Tony Stark Isn't The Only Avenger Responsible For Ultron

As the only member of The Avengers with a good deal of experience working in the field of robotics and war machines, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark found a lot of fingers pointing at him when it was announced that Ultron would be the villain of The Avengers 2 and that Hank Pym (the evil robot's creator in Marvel Comics) would not be featured in the movie. It turned out that this was a true assumption, as Iron Man will have a big role in introducing the peacekeeping-machine-gone-wrong to the world in Joss Whedon's upcoming sequel - but he's not going to be the only member of the titular superhero team with blood on his hands. Recently sitting down with Total Film for an interview, Mark Ruffalo explained a few details about what we can expect from Bruce Banner and Hulk in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and »

Chevy Chase Doesn't Get Why People Compare Christmas Vacation To This Holiday Classic

24 December 2014 7:15 PM, PST

Many would consider Christmas Vacation to be a holiday classic. But does it rank up there with It.s a Wonderful Life? Some may think so, but Chevy Chase isn.t among them. In fact, he doesn.t seem to see the sense in comparing the two films. Rolling Stone recently ran an oral history of Jeremiah Chechik.s 1989 comedy Christmas Vacation. It.s full of interesting facts about the production of the film, and leads into the cast's thoughts on the reaction to the movie in the years that have followed its release. Chevy Chase apparently finds it silly that anyone would compare the movie to Frank Capra.s beloved It.s A Wonderful Life. Comparing Christmas Vacation to It's A Wonderful Life is the silliest thing. That film starred the greatest movie actor of all time and the idea that our movie could ever be connected in some »

Theater To Offer The Interview Movie Viewers Free Popcorn If They Show Up With This Document

24 December 2014 6:47 PM, PST

The fact that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's The Interview is coming out has been seen as a big win for First Amendment rights.Rather than backing down and letting fear and threats stop our freedom of expression, the crude comedy will be coming to theaters tomorrow and is already available for rental and purchase online. People are feeling very patriotic about the movie - but one Vermont theater is taking that idea to the next level by having a special deal for theater-goers who come carrying our nation's founding document. The Vermont-centric website Seven Days has posted an article about an independent theater in Burlington called the Palace 9 that will be showing The Interview starting on December 31st, and while this may not seem all that special (given that there are more than 300 cinemas nationwide screening the movie), what makes the location unique is the special bonus it »

Are Movie Theater Chains Mad At Sony?

24 December 2014 4:58 PM, PST

In case you didn't already realize, the whole distribution situation involving Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's The Interview has been a bit of a mess. Originally the film was set to get a wide release in over 3000 theaters nationwide, but following major chains pulling out and Sony initially canceling release plans, now the movie is going out to about 300 independent theaters and is already available for rent or purchase on Google Play/YouTube. Given the way things have turned out, one might think that the major theater chains might be a bit miffed about how everything worked out - but apparently there's a bit of debate going on surrounding that subject. Following the reveal yesterday that Sony had rejuvenated plans to release The Interview for Christmas, Deadline published an article saying that exhibitors were "in a rage" about the decision, citing that they have been treated unfairly by the »

Gunman Opens Fire At Movie Premiere In Atlanta

24 December 2014 3:37 PM, PST

As though not enough drama has been surrounding movie theaters as of late thanks to the controversial release of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's The Interview, now even more unfortunate news has come about. Reports are coming out of Atlanta that say a movie premiere event held last night in the Georgia city was interrupted when a man pulled out and fired a gun, resulting in two people being injured. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has the news, saying that the shooting occurred following a debut screening of the new independent comedy Finesse from writer/director/producer/actor/rapper Curtis Franklin (a.k.a. Al Nuke) .The incident resulted in a man being shot in the buttocks, and a woman's leg being grazed - but the good news is that both are in stable condition at a local hospital. Fifty Shades Of Grey Poster Banned For Being Too Kinky

24 December 2014 2:23 PM, PST

The big screen adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey is surely going to be at the center of a good deal of controversy between now and its release in theaters this February - but the most recent case comes to us from England, where a risque promotion for the movie featuring the still below has caused a bit of a stir. To promote the fact that tickets are now on sale to see Fifty Shades of Grey, the Welwyn Garden City cinema in Hertfordshire, UK posted a large banner outside of their theater promoting the movie, but, according to the Welwyn Hatfield Times, public outcry has led to the advertisement being pulled down. While we can't show you an image of the actual ad, the image that was used comes directly from the trailer and features the image you see above of a seemingly-naked Dakota Johnson blindfolded »

We Could See Shazam And Superman In The Same Movie

24 December 2014 1:28 PM, PST

They may not have released a superhero film in 2014, but Warner Bros. made a big splash this year when they finally announced their DC Comics film slate from 2016 until 2020. However, during all the excitement there was confusion over whether Shazam, a co-production with New Line Cinema, was part of the same universe that Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the other films exist in. Well, as a Christmas Eve gift, DC Comics has finally answered this question once and for all: yes, it is! While going over the comic book company.s "Moments That Mattered" in 2014, the DC Comics Blog mentioned that every film that was announced in October exists in the same universe. Meaning that when we see the World.s Mightiest Mortal flying across the big screen in 2019, he will be doing so in a world that also includes Superman, Batman and other famous »

In addition to being one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the world, he is also starting to expand his career as a comedic leading man. Into The Woods Was Almost A 'Disaster,' According To Emily Blunt

24 December 2014 9:06 AM, PST

Once upon a time, in a far-off place, an ensemble of some of Hollywood.s most talented singers, actors and performers gathered on a soundstage to run through lines, practice harmonies, and assemble what would eventually become Rob Marshall.s Into The Woods. You will be able to see the fruit of their labor on Christmas Day when the Stephen Sondheim musical blasts into movie theaters nationwide. But at least one high-profile cast member is glad that you didn.t see the preparation that went into the creation of the movie musical, because things weren.t always so rosy on Into The Woods. We were lucky enough to speak with Emily Blunt, who plays The Baker.s Wife in Rob Marshall.s adaptation of Sondheim.s award-winning musical. Her character has been cursed by a vengeful witch (played by Blunt.s The Devil Wears Prada co-star, Meryl Streep), and must »
