James Badge Dale Interview-The Lone Ranger, Horses, and Westerns

If you didn't catch James Badge Dale in HBO's The Pacific, you missed one of the finest performances in a mini-series in recent years. James was outstanding in the 2010 series as Pfc Robert Leckie, and he followed that role up with stand-out performances in Shame with Michael Fassbender and Flight with Denzel Washington. And this year Dale can be seen in three big theatrical releases: Iron Man 3, World War Z and Disney's The Lone Ranger.

In The Lone Ranger, Dale plays the pivotal role of Texas Ranger Dan Reid, brother of John Reid - aka 'The Lone Ranger' (played by Armie Hammer) - and husband of Rebecca (Ruth Wilson). In support of the July 3, 2013 theatrical release of The Lone Ranger, I had the chance to speak to Dale about why he wanted to play Dan Reid, the stunts, and taking part in a cowboy boot camp.

Box Office Report: The Heat Fires Up Audiences

Monsters University continued to entice families into theaters, Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy drove a buddy comedy to better than expected box office results, and White House Down failed to pull eyeballs away from World War Z over the June 28-30, 2013 box office weekend. Monsters University retained its hold on the top spot for the second weekend, although it's doubtful the Pixar prequel will three-peat in the top position. Next week it will face fierce competition in the animated family-friendly market from Despicable Me 2 while Disney will also present Pixar with a major challenge when it unleashes The Lone Ranger on July 3, 2013.

Meanwhile, Man of Steel spent the weekend crossing over the $500 million mark worldwide. The new Superman movie starring Henry Cavill in the lead role officially crossed the $500 million milestone on Saturday, June 29th.
