Meme: Bryan Singer Claims Proof of Innocence, Jon Hamm Slams Bieber, “Parenthood” Coming Out Altered By Crew Reactions
6 hours ago
Happy Easter! Please overeat, hide some eggs and overindulge on chocolate that a strange rabbit broke into your home to leave for you.
Shall we get the Bryan Singer news out of the way first? Singer’s lawyer says they have proof that Singer wasn’t in Hawaii during the times named in the lawsuits, including credit card bills, phone records and shooting schedules.
Meanwhile, the lawyer for the accuser says that he plans to file three more lawsuits in Hawaii against other individuals for taking sexual advantage of his client via the same party circuit that Singer is accused of being a part of. He’ll then be filing other lawsuits in California against more Hollywood insiders. He also announced Egan is taking part in a documentary from Amy Berg about Hollywood sex abuses. »

Gay Comedian Rob Gleeson Does An Entire Set About Coming Out On “Conan”
18 April 2014 10:23 AM, PDT
Openly gay comics are plentiful, but not many of them break through to the mainstream. Even fewer go on national television and do an entire routine about coming out. Rob Gleeson did just that on Conan this week.
He covers the entire gamut, from an ill-fated attempt at sex with a girl at 15 to hitting up the gay bars as an adult, and hitting up the stalls in the bathroom at said gay clubs. It’s a routine you might expect to hear in a comedy club on an Atlantis cruise, but on a late night show like Conan? It’s very bold, both of him and of Conan for giving him the showcase.

Ten Gifs That Explain Birthday Boy James Franco

On the notoriety of that role, he nabbed the title role in the TV movie James Dean (which earned him a multitude of honors, including an Emmy nomination).
Ever the mystery, his sexual ambiguity has been labeled both provocative … and aggravating, and he continues to confound, with such projects as Interior.Leather.Bar alongside such family fare as Oz The Great And Powerful

Interview with Michael J. Willett and Gregg Sulkin of MTV’s “Faking It”
18 April 2014 8:04 AM, PDT
MTV’s new comedy Faking It may have a relationship between two teen girls at its center, but there’s another important duo on the show— out and proud Shane (played by out actor Michael J. Willett) and his straight Bff Liam (played by Gregg Sulkin).
We sat down with adorable actors Willett and Sulkin at the MTV offices in Santa Monica recently to chat about their characters’ gay/straight friendship as well as what to say to those who are wary of the “fake lesbian” plot of the series. Afterwards, they were joined by co-stars Katie Stevens, Rita Volk and Bailey Buntain for a fun photo shoot. (Interviews with the ladies are over on our sister site AfterEllen.)
Faking It premieres Tuesday at 10:30pm on MTV.

“Scandal” Finale Recap: “The Price of Free and Fair Elections”
18 April 2014 7:29 AM, PDT
Season finale time! Wow that entire season just flew by! Are you ready to dive into the twisted finale’s many twists?
We open on a split screen right out of a 70s conspiracy thriller, with the bomb on one side and the funeral on the other.
Meanwhile, back at the White House, Cyrus (Jeff Perry) is still stalling with Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) to keep him away from the funeral, all, “Practice your eulogy one more time … only this time with a Spanish accent.”
And then, quite remarkably, Cyrus appears to have a change of heart and begins to tell Fitz about the bomb. Whether or not this redeems the character is up to debate. I’m going with redemption because I want to go back to sort of liking the guy, even if he’s pretty despicable.

Since his Tony-nominated debut in 2002 in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Gavin Creel has been one of the bright shining lights of the stage. He added another Tony nom in 2009 for the revival of Hair, and just last week was given the Olivier Award for Best Actor for the London production of The Book Of Mormon.
The out Gavin has long been an outspoken rights advocate, and is one of the co-founders of Broadway Impact, a grassroots organization of theater artists and fans mobilized in support of marriage equality. Here’s his anthem “Noise,” which delivers a powerful, important message.
Today is Gavin’s 38th birthday, so let’s take a look at back at some highlights from his career over the last decade. Happy Birthday!

Meme: The Timing of the Bryan Singer Lawsuit, Pat Robertson Says You Can’t Avoid Gays, Ian Somerhalder Is “The Anomaly”
18 April 2014 4:50 AM, PDT
Jersey Boys sings tough, James Franco’s mature reaction to a bad review, the fight for credit in the marriage equality movement
One major question that kept recurring yesterday in the news about the lawsuit against Bryan Singer was the timing. It turns out the suit was filed now in Hawaii because the state has temporarily suspended the statute of limitations on sex offenses, giving a window.
The Gill Action Group was planning a conference of major donors at the Beverly Hills Hotel May 1-5, but as the iconic hotel is owned by the Sultan of Brunei, who just announced death by stoning for homosexuality, the conference is being moved, and the group is demanding all deposits back. The hotel is of course a favorite celebrity haunt, and I wonder if more things like this will happen.

Fox is giving up on its Saturday night animated line-up, Broadcasting & Cable reported. While the younger viewers the animated block aimed for never showed, an additional issue was that Fox affiliates were frustrated by the number of complaint calls the crude humor inspired. The studio behind the Animation Domination High Def block will continue to create programming but will focus on the web.
Bret Harrison has joined the cast of the ABC drama series Astronaut Wives Club, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He’ll play the “hotshot young gun” husband of a character played by Odette Annable, who previously starred in Breaking In with Harrison.
It’s been noted elsewhere but now it’s Comcast who is saying that giving viewers a chance to bingewatch a show can help it draw new viewers who will watch new episodes as they air.

“The Vampire Diaries” – Travelers’ Check
18 April 2014 4:32 AM, PDT
Previously, on The Vampire Diaries
Elena writes in her journal and tears a page out. The wind takes it away from her and Stefan intercepts it. He hands it back and they introduce themselves, only to almost get run over by a car.
Elena awakens in her bed. It was just a dream. Title card!
Damon bought a pool table! He and Enzo shoot a round while Enzo recaps the recent history of Damon’s awful love life. Damon fires back with a reference to the missing Maggie and Enzo exposits that the shitty Travelers set themselves on fire without revealing her location as promised.
Elena and Caroline arrive at the Grill for a planned lunch with Sheriff Liz, who’s running late. Caroline grabs a table and Elena fugue states her way over while envisioning the end of her “first date” with Stefan, interrupted when her dad flips on the porch light. »

Liveblogging “Days Of Our Lives” Custody Derangement
17 April 2014 9:09 AM, PDT
Will finally confronts Gabi with custody demands. Of his testicles. Will she share?
Punched Face still has strawberry Toaster Strudel smeared on his face. Will comes into the apartment with the crystal paperweight and tells Gabi that he and Sonny love it … even if it does come from Nick. Okay, this tchotchke has been shown too many times not to be of some use in the plot in the future … perhaps covered in blood?
Gabi is surprised that Will and Sonny actually like it, and didn’t toss it out, and Will tells her that they were genuinely touched by his thoughtfulness. Gabi counters with “Thoughtful? Or do you just think it’s a way to manipulate you?” Oh shut up. Will says “Maybe it is.”
Rafe is in his full McGruff The Crime Dolt mode, and is determined to get to the bottom of why everyone is tiptoeing around Nick. »
“X-Men” Director Bryan Singer Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teen Boy
17 April 2014 7:06 AM, PDT
Well this is awkward. Bryan Singer— the openly gay director of such classics as The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil and the first, second (and soon to be released fifth) X-Men film— has been accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a 17-year-old aspiring actor.
The lawsuit by now-adult plaintiff Michael Egan claims the director “manipulated his power, wealth, and position in the entertainment industry to sexually abuse and exploit the underage Plaintiff through the use of drugs, alcohol, threats, and inducements which resulted in Plaintiff suffering catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries. Defendant Singer did so as part of a group of adult males similarly positioned in the entertainment industry that maintained and exploited boys in a sordid sex ring.”
The timing of this filing, just before the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past on May 23, seems calculated to generate as much publicity and cause as much embarrassment as possible to Singer. »

Meme: The Disappointing Gays of “Portlandia”, Myers-Briggs of Disney Characters, How the Men of “Teen Wolf” Taste

Alan Carr calls out gays for homophobia, gays caused the great flood in the Bible, ask an elected official if they’ve ever had a blow job
Alan Carr is hitting back at gays who accused him of perpetuating stereotypes in his ad for PETA. “The ‘fairy’ in the @Peta campaign refers to my ‘Tooth Fairy’ DVD that’s all. Take my advice if you act like a victim you get treated like 1…Don’t worry twitter they’ll be another bandwagon you can jump on in a minute zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…Hey and before all you oh so worthy gays get back on your high horse the most homophobia I get is from gays. #selfloathing” Mostly I think it’s clever, but I’m naturally repulsed by anything PETA does.

Last Night on “Arrow”: Secrets and Lies
17 April 2014 4:59 AM, PDT
Team Arrow works overtime to try and stop Slade Wilson. Laurel, meanwhile, is on the hunt for the truth.
It’s a little tough to write this recap as I’ve chewed my nails down to bloody ragged stumps, but I will do my best for you. That is to say, the tension on Arrow has reached epic proportions and it only shows signs of escalating.
In an unusually intelligent moment for Team Arrow, they realized the reason for taking over Queen Consolidated was so that Slade Wilson could make a bunch of Mini-Mes at the Applied Sciences Division. I’m guessing it was Felecity who figured that out. I love Team Arrow, but it’s not exactly a brain trust.
To thwart the evil Wilson, Oliver and company blow the place all the hell up. Crude and yet effective. And thankfully there were no security cameras inside the building »

FX Renews “The Americans,” Bd Wong Returns to “Law & Order” and “Portlandia” Does Gay Pride
17 April 2014 4:46 AM, PDT
FX has officially renewed The Americans for a third season. Ratings aren’t great for this terrific show, but apparently FX was able to make it work thanks to DVR numbers and critical praise. Too bad that kind of equation wasn’t able to save Terriers from cancellation.
To paraphrase a pair of wise bears, “More wigs more fun!”
Barney Stinson‘s catchphrase, “Legend — wait for it — dary” is what linguists call that a “tmesis,” where a word or phrase is interrupted for (usually comedic) effect.
In a profile in The Hollywood Reporter, John Oliver says that making a satirical news show on a premium channel like HBO means more freedom to tackle challenging topics. “To do a very aggressive piece on [General Motors] before a congressional investigation, that’s potentially a problem on commercial TV. I don’t think it would be outlawed. But I think there would be a sense of, »

Yet Another Hot Andrew Christian Video
16 April 2014 11:14 AM, PDT
Andrew Christian continues his quest to sell underwear without actually showing any underwear. In fact, there aren’t really any clothes at all in this video, and yet it’s probably Sfw, because it takes place from the waist up.
On could argue it’s tough to sell a product when you don’t reference it at all, but Andrew Christian knows they’re selling a lifestyle and an image, and that sells the clothes.
And the shared ice cream cone is a nice touch!

First Trailer for “Burning Blue”… a.k.a. “Brokeback Top Gun”
16 April 2014 10:23 AM, PDT
“Two Navy fighter pilots fall in love in the ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ era.” Seems like the new movie from Lionsgate took its inspiration from of Top Gun and Brokeback Mountain, but actually the film is based on a 1992 Off-Broadway play of the same name. The new film is co-written by Dmw Greer, who wrote the original play. The cast includes Trent Ford (Gosford Park), Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire), Rob Mayes (The Client List) and Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows).
Burning Blue will be released in select theaters and on VOD June 6th. For more information visit burningbluefilm.com
