Tremors Finally Getting a Reboot

There's been talk of a new version of Universal's wormy creature feature Tremors for several years now, but it finally sounds like the wheels are in motion. Filmmaker Don Michael Paul (Lake Placid: The Final Chapter, Jarhead 2: Field of Fire) recently took to his blog with a rather interesting announcement.

"After I finish up Company of Heroes: The Fourth Reich, I will be headed to Johannesburg, South Africa, to reboot the Tremors franchise for Universal. Big year ahead, and I’m excited to keep it going with the support of all you genre movie lovers out there."

In case you've been living under a rock for the past 25 years (yes, it's been that long since the first one came out) Tremors told the tale of the natives of a small isolated town who defend themselves against strange underground creatures which are killing them one by one.

Top 9 High School Horrors

The ratty hair, the twisted teeth, the oily flesh. No, I'm not talking about the newest movie monster. I'm talking about our awkward high school years! In celebration of the release of All Cheerleaders Die, we're taking a look back at the Top 9 High School Horrors.

Looking back, we can remember plenty of high school horrors, and combination skin is just one of them. There were a lot of possibilities for this list, and we've got 9 of our favorites listed below. But we would have to flunk ourselves if we didn't turn in an honor roll of honorable mentions.

Of course another Lucky McKee film, The Woods, has to be listed, as does Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And those vivacious vixens from The Craft turned up the heat in their high school, and nobody - and we mean nobody - survives Cherry Falls.

And now, on to the...

The Gasp Menagerie: Haunted House For Sale...Who's Buying?

Haunted houses used to be a matter of legend. You'd hear from someone who knew someone whose brother's sister's cousin's former roommate once walked past a house and got the willies. Okay, maybe the tales were a little more solid, but you get the idea.

Back then you'd hear second-, third-, or fourth-hand about a house being wrong, off, spooky, or troubled. Now, however, we live in the information age. News doesn't just travel fast, it's instantaneous.

We hear about events like revolutions and disasters as they're happening, in real time, and have stacks of evidence readily available soon after; and the same goes for haunted houses. The modern haunted house doesn't require the time needed to become a legend. One stop on any number of social media sites will allow a hauntee to throw up their tale for mass consumption. You would think this increased speed and detail would »

Exclusive: Angelica Bridges Talks Axeman 2: Overkill

We told you about Joston Theney's sequel to his flick Axeman, entitled Axeman 2: Overkill, a couple of weeks back; and right now we have the first ever interview with star Angelica Bridges ("Baywatch," "The Bold and The Beautiful").

Dread Central: The producers, Joston "El Rey" Theney and Dr. Christopher Otiko, have been a little tight-lipped about the script. What can you tell us about the film?

Angelica Bridges: I don't want to give out too many of the gory details, but I will say they are going for more horror, if that's even possible. They will be taking the "killings" in the film to a whole other level of profoundness! People that usually don't ever cover their eyes while watching horror films will probably be starting a new trend after watching this film.

DC: You play "Dungie" in the film. What can you tell us about the character? »
