Second Trailer for Special Forces in Afghanistan Action Film '12 Strong'

"Chances are we are not going to make it out of this one..." Warner Bros has debuted the second trailer for 12 Strong, formerly known as Horse Soldiers, about a Special Forces group sent into Afghanistan at the beginning of the war after 9/11. They end up working with a local Afghani warlord in order to take down the Taliban, riding horses into battle, which is why this was previously called Horse Soldiers, but of course. Chris Hemsworth stars, along with an ensemble cast including Taylor Sheridan, Michael Shannon, Austin Stowell, Michael Peña, Geoff Stults, and Elsa Pataky. This second trailer doesn't look any better than the first, with more action+explosions galore, patriotism everywhere, and lots and lots of guns. Here's the second trailer (+ original poster) for Nicolai Fuglsig's 12 Strong, directly from YouTube: You can also still watch the first official trailer for 12 Strong here, to see even more footage from this. »

New Extended TV Spot for Spielberg's 'The Post' Builds Up the Intensity

"Do you have the papers?" "Not yet..." 20th Century Fox is pushing strong with Steven Spielberg's surprise end-of-the-year drama The Post, which seems to be getting good buzz after its first screenings. This new extended TV spot comes hot on the tail of the first official trailer a few weeks ago, and it's just as intense of a tease. The Post is about about The Washington Post and the publishing of the Pentagon Papers about the Vietnam War in 1971. This seems like a very important, necessary story to tell in these times. Tom Hanks stars as editor Ben Bradlee, and Meryl Streep stars as Post publisher Katharine Graham. The cast includes Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, Zach Woods. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie for many good reasons, but mostly because it's Spielberg, »

Official Trailer for Obama Presidency Documentary 'The Final Year'

21 November 2017 5:33 PM, PST

"People need to be the center of our foreign policy thinking." Magnolia Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for Greg Barker's new documentary The Final Year, which profiles the last year of Obama's two-term presidency. The documentary team follows Obama's foreign policy team as thy coordinate and discuss global politics with the President, attempting to achieve some major goals in the last year (before it all gets undone ugh). This is an outstanding documentary (in many ways) that I recently saw at the Idfa Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam, and I kind of loved it. There's some great editing and music, but it's also just a refreshing look at extremely passionate, determined, hard-working people who just want to make the world a more peaceful, better, safer, healthier place and gave everything to do that. Don't skip this. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Greg Barker's documentary The Final Year, »

This originally premiered at last year's Cannes Film Festival, and is just getting a release in Us theaters this December. Lily-Rose Depp stars as Isadora Duncan, the protégé and rival of dancer Loïe Fuller, played by French actress/musician Soko, the "toast of the Folies Bergères at the turn of the 20th century and an inspiration for Toulouse-Lautrec and the Lumière Brothers." The full cast includes Gaspard Ulliel, Mélanie Thierry, François Damiens, Denis Ménochet, Amanda Plummer, and Louis-Do de Lencquesaing. "Tell me how I look?" "You look beautiful." Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the new official Us trailer for the festival favorite Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, which has played at the Telluride, Toronto and London Film Festivals to some great reviews. The film tells the story of Academy Award-winning actress Gloria Grahame, as played by the ever-so-talented Annette Bening. It mainly focuses on her passionate romance with a much younger movie star named Peter Turner, as played by Jamie Bell, and it's based on Turner's actual memoir. The full cast includes Julie Walters, Vanessa Redgrave, Kenneth Cranham, Stephen Graham, and Frances Barber. Grahame starred in The Big Heat, It's a Wonderful Life, In a Lonely Place, and Oklahoma!, and won the Oscar for her role in The Bad and the Beautiful. This still looks great, worth a watch this fall. Another Trailer for That Ethan Hawke Action Movie '24 Hours to Live'

20 November 2017 4:18 PM, PST

"These guys don't play nice." Get locked and loaded. Saban Films debuted another new official trailer for the adrenaline-fueled action indie movie 24 Hours to Live, yet another assassin story if you're up for another one. Ethan Hawke stars as a career assassin who is given a chance at redemption after his employer brings him back to life temporarily after being killed on the job. This trailer is a bit more action heavy again, making this seem like some Taken meets Bourne meets Shoot 'Em Up meets Crank movie. The rest of the main cast includes Xu Qing, Liam Cunningham, Rutger Hauer, and Paul Anderson. This is worth a watch just to see what it's about, but damn it seems like a weird film with angry Hawke. Have fun. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Brian Smrz's 24 Hours to Live, direct from Vimeo: You can still watch the first »

Focus Features has debuted a new "sneak preview" trailer Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film, Phantom Thread, featuring details on sneak preview screenings happening in New York and L.A. Set in the 1950s in London, the sensual story is about renowned dressmaker named Reynolds Woodcock, as played by Day-Lewis, whose "carefully tailored life" is disrupted by love - as you can watch in this new trailer. The cast includes Lesley Manville, Vicky Krieps, Camilla Rutherford, and Jane Perry. The movie "paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, »
