Barbara Walters taken to hospital after falling in Washington DC

Barbara Walters has been hospitalized after falling and suffering a head injury. Walters was visiting the home of a British ambassador on Saturday night (January 19) in Washington DC when she fell on the stairs and cut her forehead, reports Politico. "Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Jessica Chastain's 'Mama' heads Us box office - top ten in full

Jessica Chastain has continued her winning streak as two of her films ruled the Us box office this weekend. Horror Mama debuted at number one with $$28.1m, while Zero Dark Thirty took second place with $$17.6m. Both films star Chastain, who recently took home a Golden Globe award for Zero Dark Thirty. Two new releases also made it in the top ten - Broken City and The Last Stand. The Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe movie Broken City came in fifth place with $$9m, while Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand took tenth place with $$6.3. Oona King leaves 'Dancing on Ice'

The politician faced rugby star Gareth Thomas in the Save Me Skate, which was one of the most dramatic in the reality show's history after King's partner suffered a severe injury live on air. Amanda Holden wants 'Californication' role

BBC Two's 'Winterwatch' special beats BBC One's Hammond show

A Winterwatch special gave BBC Two an unusually high Saturday evening audience. The Big Freeze, a rebroadcast of an old film on the winter of 1963, pulled in 3m (13.9%) at 5.30pm. Richard Hammond's hidden camera show Secret Service continued to struggle with just 2.14m (9.5%) for BBC One at the same time. With Dad's Army following with 2.61m (11.3%), it is a rare feat for a BBC Two show to beat a BBC One programme on a Saturday evening. You've Been Framed won the early evening slot with 4.28m (19%) for ITV and 196,000 on +1. The last heat of Splash! then attracted 5.24m (21.5%) to ITV from 7pm as well as 185k on +1. Thursday ratings: 'American Idol', 'Grey's Anatomy' drop

Fox won Thursday night's ratings in both the 18-49 demographic and total viewers. American Idol's second episode of its 12th season was down four tenths from its premiere on Wednesday, but still easily won the night with a demo score of 5.6 (16.19 million viewers) at 8pm. However, it managed to match last season's night two premiere rating. ABC's Last Resort dropped two tenths from last week to 1.0 (5.01m) at 8pm. Celebrity Big Brother rises to 2.4m for Gillian Taylforth eviction

Celebrity Big Brother recorded its best audience since launching over a fortnight ago on Friday night (January 18). Some 2.4m (9.2%) watched the Channel 5 reality show's eviction special in the 9pm hour as ex-EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth left the house. A further 164,000 watched on +1. Celebrity Big Brother's fortunes contrast favourably with last week's live eviction show, which lost out to Channel 4's popular one-off documentary 16 Kids and Counting.
