Earlier this morning Bloody Disgusting's Johnne Marrone took a trip to the set of Jim Mickle's (Mulberry Street) now filming Stake Land, a new vampire pic that looks quite extraordinary. Moseley will be playing Johnny, the same role he took on in Tom Savini's 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Joseph Pilato, Mike Diskint and Helen Cooper also star. 'Underworld 4' Being Penned by 'Shield' Writer
19 November 2009 9:46 PM, PST
"The Shield" writer John Hlavin has been hired to pen the fourth installment in Screen Gems/Lakeshore's Underworld franchise, writes THR. Len Wiseman, who directed the first two films in the vampire-vs.-werewolf saga, is producing with Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright of Lakeshore. Kate Beckinsale, who starred in the first two movies, has not cut a deal to return to the series (which we've confirmed is absolutely untrue); the third pic, a prequel, starred Rhona Mitra, who also has no deal. The fourth film does not have a director attached. Hlavin said the plot is under wraps, "but I can tell you it's not a prequel." He added, "It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don't want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements. »
Bd Review: Safe Choice Makes 'New Moon' a Major Dud
19 November 2009 10:46 AM, PST
As many of you know I thought Twilight was passable, not good, not bad, but passable. Somewhere along the way to releasing The Twilight SAG: New Moon, they lost even me. Missing multiple screening opportunities, I sent Bd's own Chris Eggertsen, who appears to have the same feelings I had for the franchise. "...the producers went with Weitz, the safe choice, and now they have a major dud on their hands. I can only hope that young fans of the series will stay home this time. But Im not naïve. Itll be a blockbuster, damn it." Click the title above to read his in depth review of New Moon and check back here at midnight to post your own review and tell all of Bd what You thought. »

18 November 2009 10:54 PM, PST
Sad news from the set of Dark Sky Films' Stake Land where producer-turned-actor/director Larry Fessenden was on hand to promote the film. Back in August it was revealed that Fessenden would be helming a remake of The Orphanage for New Line Cinema and Guillermo del Toro. It appears the dream is dead. "The Orphanage was two years of waiting," Fessenden tells Aith. "Working on the script with Guillermo was a very exciting experience, but then I got into a casting miasma and that's where the thing is; I think they're gonna do it another way, actually. So I think I'm out of it. Hopefully they'll still use my script, but I'm not sure I'm directing it anymore. That's Hollywood for ya." »

'The Horde' Producers Get New 'Territories'
17 November 2009 9:35 AM, PST
Sure it was produced by Frontier(s) director Xavier Gens, but the French zombie flick The Horde is absolutely terrible. With that said, maybe the company behind it learned a lesson? Bloody Disgusting exclusively learned that next up on their slate is Territories, which is to be directed by Olivier Abbou from a screenplay by Thibault Lang-Willara. Canada, near the Us border. Jalil, Michelle, Gab, Leslie and Tom are driving back home after a wedding. A car blocks the road. Forces them to stop. It's the border police. The officers check their ID. They seem suspicious. Their questioning slowly intensifies. In particular, the origins of Jalil seem to intrigue the officers. Bother them. As good citizens, the group stays calm. After all, they've done nothing wrong... Except that broken light... Except that pot found in the car... More »
Courteney Cox Thinks Gale Weathers is Miserable in 'Scream IV'
16 November 2009 9:05 AM, PST
As if the actors ever know what's going on with the development of a script, Scream 4 star Courteney Cox made a few predictions today about what she thinks is happening in the life of Gale Weathers, and her husband Dewey (David Arquette). "They're probably back living in Woodsboro," Cox tells Yahoo. "I think that he's probably still deputy, and I've had a lot of kids. I don't know. I'm probably miserable, and then I'm sure a lot of murdering will happen." It's kind of stupid to assume things about your character, especially when the average writer will progress time by making Dewey a sheriff or something. I guess we'll find out assuming this actually goes into production (I;m still unsure about Dimension's future). »
