NY magazine is reporting that a bidding war has broken out to finance a big screen version of "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," a big-budget re-telling of the legend of the robotic lions and their human pilots. Producer Charles Roven (The Dark Knight) has been developing the script with writers Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, who recently penned the script for "Conan the Barbarian" remake. One bidder is Relativity Media, which has been rescuing lots of gestating projects like "The Fighter." If everything proceeds as planned, audiences may see "Voltron" on the big screen as early as 2013 or 2014 at the latest. Check out the previously leaked concept art for the film below.
