Last week, The CW announced that it would add to its “Riverdale” universe with a Sabrina the Teenage Witch companion series. Berlanti Productions has put the new “Archie” comics adaptation, “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” into development for the 2018-2019 TV season. Instead of Melissa Joan Hart’s cheery half witch, half human teen with a talking cat, the show will take tonal cues from “Riverdale” and keep her story a dark drama that creeps into the horror genre.
