Director Also Confirms--For The Ninth Frickin' Time--That 'The Dark Knight Rises' Is His Last 'Batman' Film Vindication at last! Or at least, sorta. Anyone who's followed our site closely this year (including its old iteration) knows we've maintained since day one that the controversial, much-discussed and picked-over/picked apart ending of Christopher Nolan's "Inception" was meant to be open-ended and ambiguous (though ok, truthfully, some of us have insisted it ended as a tragedy like all his previous noir-ish films, see the ending of "The Prestige," "Insomnia" and "Memento") .
