The next sequel in the Bourne franchise won't hit theaters until 2016. The fifth installment was originally set to be released on August 14, 2015.

Justin Lin (Fast Five) is set to direct the sequel, with Jeremy Renner returning as Aaron Cross. Though Matt Damon mentioned that he was open to returning to the franchise, chances are he won't be reprising his signature role. The actor said he would consider reprising his role if director Paul Greengrass returned–he's not.

“I've always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director. We've just never been able to come up with a story. But having said that, I love that character and I'd love to see what happened to him.”
