While it was no surprise that Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier were quite successful, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s pending success is a bit more up in the air. After all, it’s an untested property based on a somewhat obscure comic book – to the layman, anyway – written and directed by the very quirky James Gunn (Slither, Super).Still, the trailers so far have been very well-received, not just for Chris Pratt’s funny and commanding presence, but for the offbeat humor, the old school science fiction look, and the interesting concept (it’s The Dirty Dozen meets Star Wars). Now we’ve got a look at the very first TV spot, which sports some previously unseen footage. Plus, Gunn recently talked about what we can expect from the IMAX 3D release.
