There's teasing... and then there's teasing to the point where we begin to lose interest, and that's frankly where we've been at with Guillermo del Toro's "The Strain." FX launched a lengthy and often tedious viral campaign for the film showing little in the way of actual footage, but that has all changed as today we now have a proper trailer, and guess what? We're excited about this again. Based on the book series written by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, this new show brings together a pretty terrific cast — Corey Stoll, Mía Maestro, David Bradley, Natalie Brown, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Sean Astin, Richard Sammel, Ben Hyland, Javier Botet, Doug Jones — for a story set in a world where an viral outbreak has lead to vampirism. And it's not hot hunky Southern vampires like in "True Blood," but typically freaky del Toro-esque bloodsuckers, coupled with a procedural aspect it seems. »
